“Ike Davis made his way around the clubhouse offering farewells on Monday,” Adam Rubin writes to his blog for ESPN New York.

Davis will soon have an MRI in New York on his strained right oblique. Regardless of the results, the team already announced that he will miss the rest of the season.

According to Rubin, Davis will likely head home to Phoenix and rest.

Davis will end his season having hit .205 with nine HR and 33 RBI.
Bye Ike. No way you're getting $5+ million in arbitration.
Daniel Murphy has been named National League Player of the Week for the period ending September 1.

In seven games last week, Murphy led the National League with five doubles and tying for first in runs scored (7) and hits (13).

His five doubles last week week gave him 30 for the season, good for 10th in the N.L, while his 158 hits rank fifth.
Fearing that a rookie is going to take yer jerb is awesome.

Cutter really not cutting as much, TC stretching out Torres here considering he just got back to starting. Nearing 100 pitches here, seems Torres' mission was to pitch 7 innings to save the pen.
