My Favorite Games Shown at the PS5 Reveal

The amount of amazing games we've seen already for PS5 was shocking. Sony is not messing about. There was a ton of stuff I can't wait to play.

Below I listed the titles I am most excited to play (in no particular order) and will likely get day one. I also listed Gran Turismo 7, because some people like driving cars....

We are getting a Spider-Man sequel at launch, this year. It is difficult to top that for a launch title.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart really showed off the power of the SSD, jumping between huge worlds in mere moments without disrupting gameplay.

I love Ratchet and Clank. It is one of the most fun platformers and shooters out there.

It was cool to see Little Big Planet is still going strong with the new game Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

By FAR, my most anticipated game is Demon's Souls Remake. Holy cow. I can't believe this exists. A stunning remake of one of my favorite games of all time.

I wonder if this gives us the possibility of a Demon's Souls 2 at some point.

Another huge surprise was the sequel/spinoff to one of the best games of the current generation - Astrobot.

Oh, and it is also a free, pre-loaded game on the PS5

I'm not a huge racing fan, but I'm sure tons of people are excited for Gran Turismo 7. It is visually stunning.

It wasn't a surprise at all to see Horizon Zero Dawn sequel, but I was a HUGE fan of the original. I'll be there day one for Horizon Forbidden West.

The biggest surprise for me was SquareEnix's Project Athia. This looks like a huge, AAA dark open-world RPG. It looks incredibly promising and is a PS5 console exclusive.

I'm also a huge Resident Evil fan, so while not surprising, it was great to see Resident Evil 8: Village. I loved 7 and this looks to be in a similar style. Unlike, most of the other games shown, this will also be available on Xbox Series X.

Kena Bridge of Spirits also looks really cool. I was getting Fable vibes. I still know little about this, but it looks like my type of game.

What games are others most excited for? Any that I didn't list here?

Spider Man: Miles Morales is a standalone expansion (think Infamous First Light on PS4). Hoping for a nice $20 digital download.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart stole the show in my opinion. Almost three minutes of pure gameplay. Looked excellent. As someone who just played the PS4 R & C a few months ago and rated it an 8.5/10 despite not being into 3D platformers, im very hyped for this game. I won't make the same mistake twice. Day fucking one!!!

Returnal has me very intrigued and interested but I have to see more gameplay and info.

Resident Evil VIII: Village looked good. I personally believe that Capcom is going to fuck over the series again as they're simply rushing out to many games but we'll see. It's cross-gen, multi-platform. I'm more excited for the eventual RE4 remake but I'll still play through it.

Godfall is a one year timed console exclusive and since it's going to be a live service game, I'll wait until it hits Series X in late 2021. Same for Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Project Athia.

Horizon II: Forbidden West is day one but I was disappointed that they didn't show gameplay.

It's cool to have an Arkane game at launch, but I'm not totally impressed by the line up right now (well, usually the first year never appeal me too much to begin with, but whatever). I still don't know what Ghostwire is, too.

Despite not being a fan of the series Ratchet seems cool. Right now I'm all in for Demon's Souls (one of my fav games ever) and Village.
I'm also intersted in Horizon II, despite the first not being in my top 5 of Sony exclusives this gen.
There's also some interesting indie games like Kena and Little Devil Inside.

Not being too excited right now, I'm looking forward more into TLoU2 and Tsushima.

Good post OP.

There’s certainly a lot to look forward to here. Sony’s launches are typically lackluster game wise, so this looks to be a step in the right direction even if most of these games are at least a year off.

I’m still in for PS5 day 1 because (1) im going to eventually get one anyway because half the games I play are Sony exclusives, and (2) will be great to play cyberpunk without load times over Christmas.

A lot of really interesting games were shown at the PS5 event.
Those that impressed me most are:

Horizon 2
Project Athia
Ratchet and Clank
Little Devil Inside
Demon Souls

Honorable mention:

Kana - Bridge of Spirits
Oddworld Soulstorm
Stray

I also expect announcements of further new games, also very interesting, between July and August.
(to Microsoft and Sony events)

Nothing hype worthy yet sadly.

Like last gen, meh on launch titles - will pick it up eventually when the must haves begin to seep in.
