Naughty Dog Announces Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

We will never again play as a male protagonist in a Naughty Dog game.

  • Its not even close to Hellblade 2 visually. However, HB is small areas and pretty limited at times. This is likely a more open action game. But at no point do the faces look like real life like they do in HB.
  • The trailer honestly didn't do anything for me. Nothing really happened.
  • I'm still interested because its a new IP. It seems playful finally and not so serious and overly dour. I'm sure they have lots of great ideas in store but they weren't shown in this trailer.
Hellblade 2 isn't a game. This will likely have more than 600 people playing.

The product placement was nuts, but the game itself looks mighty fine. Though, "in development" means that we won't be seeing this thing for a good couple of years.

Game is going to be an absolute banger when it launches and all the people screaming that it's woke garbage or that the character is trash will dissappear into the void. The animations look incredible, the retro space horror vibe looks incredible and you know that naughty dog gameplay is going to be incredible. Day one for me.

I knew it was Nuaghty Dog once they showed the details on the character. That shit looked too good for it to be from somebody else. Plus the Sony logo was a dead giveaway, lol.
It didn't look that different from PS4. I think Unreal 5 has them beat. It'll still look incredible though of course. They're the elite so I did expect more here.

One of the things that makes me slightly optimistic is it seems the graphics upgrade is honestly just modest. Action might get crazy.

I Am waiting to get home to Watch it. But sure it looks awesome. They always deliver the goods. No matter how much people get rabbies and spit foam dron their mouths this game Will be the goat.

I have to say, no one creates visually unappealing characters quite like Naughty Dog ever since Druckmann took over. It also features that classic "Druckmann girlboss" style of writing that makes her immediately unlikeable. it really sucks because ND is such a talented studio, if they could just get rid of druckmann and the writing team they could do incredible things.

They didn't release a hype trailer. Interesting.

Probably moving away from that stuff.

3rd person melee combat could be cool. Would like to see more of actual game to form an opinion. Game looks to be in early stages and probably will look much better at release.

idgaf, if this is naughty dog quality in a soulslike im gonna put my 30-50hours into it and god damn i look forward to it!

People are crying about the look of the protagonist. lol

Imagine if Jack Mass Effect or Ripley from Aliens was revealed in 2024, people would be crying woke.
Please do fuck off with that rhetoric.

Naughty Dog is well known for towing the party line. They get no benefit of the doubt.

Ripley was shaved bald on a prison colony and Jack is fucking insane when you meet her. That was the intention to convey behind the bald head and body covered in tattoos.

BLOG POST

We're back! You have been dying to know what's next for us, and I'm thrilled to finally be able to answer: Naughty Dog's next game is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, currently in development for the PlayStation 5 console. We've been working on this brand-new adventure since 2020! This game is shaping up to be our wildest, most creative story yet. If you haven't already, check out the announcement trailer.

Intergalactic stars our newest protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. In fact, anyone who's flown to it hoping to unravel its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.

Beyond that, we're keeping everything about the story under wraps – at least for now. What we can tell you is that this game lives up to the Naughty Dog tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey. Our narrative goals are rivaled only by our gameplay ambitions. This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog's history, taking our learnings from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we've ever done before.

Jordan is played by the talented Tati Gabrielle, who leads a stellar cast (pun intended!). Eagle-eyed players might spot some of the other cast members in the trailer. We'll reveal more of our ensemble down the line.

Our incredible voyage into the cosmos also needs an equally incredible soundtrack. As tremendous fans of their work, I'm excited to announce our collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who'll be scoring Intergalactic! The guys are cooking, and the trailer is just a small tease of their work for the game.

We know you're eager for more – and trust us, we're very eager to share more with you. For now, though, it's time to put our heads back down and keep cranking away on Jordan's adventure.

On behalf of the entire team at Naughty Dog, thank you to all our fans! Your support allows us to work on our dream games, bringing these wonderful new worlds and characters to life. We can't wait to show you more!

See you on the other side,

Neil Druckmann

The last clip with the enemy sort of saved this for me.

Everything before that looked awful and uninspired
