The Cavs are wildly outcoached this year. (tweets linked in the 'x's at the end)

Tyronn Lue on Kyrie: "He has the best handle in the NBA, so he's able to play iso basketball." x
More Lue: "Well, they're playing J.R. like we're playing Steph and Klay." x
Kyrie: "But Steph and Klay, which we're aware of, has the ultimate green light. It's dang near neon." x
More Kyrie: "So only thing this way's going to go is if myself and Bron, we have to will our ways to their defense." x

Nice wonder what he plays.
Hmn...

He plays what we do. He's legit.

I hate how media always zeroes in on the fans booing Lacob on Mullin's appreciation night. It wasn't just that he traded Monta Ellis, but the bigger catalyst for the booing was that Lacob wanted to have the last word on a night dedicated to Mullin (Fitz even introduced Lacob as the person you've been waiting for).
The whole thing is insanely overblown lol.

People are just desperate to paint this picture that the Warriors have no legit fans (bandwagoners!!1!!). Eases the hurt when their favorite team gets smacked around I guess.

underrated defender as well. bad defense was always a big talking point with him and he comes to charlotte and plays for a good defensive-minded coach and whatdoyouknow? the guy can defend.

I don't think he passes the "eye test" where you can obviously tell a guy has quickness but he definitely plays all out hard on the defensive end and basically gets to the rim at will. As a bench player he can do that and then sit down. I think as a starter he plays way too hard all of the time and when there's no one to defer to like the Lakers he makes bad decisions.

Or Pop can hire Melisandre as his lead assistant maybe she can bring Tony's corpse back to life.
Thats a horrible idea.

Parker already fucked his teammates wife. Now you expect him to control himself while Melisandre is exposing titties left and right in the locker room?

Very poorly thought out plan Ninja.

agreed, I don't think he's a starting-caliber pg

if it wasn't for his size he could be a great starting 2 guard imo

That team does not have Lebron's bball IQ. You could lament the Heats athleticism at the end, but they were on level in bball IQ. From Bosh and Wade to the bench guys

Klay is the most awkward NBA superstar ever...in some ways, it makes him way more endearing

Klay should probably stick to Mario Kart.

Not to say that Lebron doesn't have high bball IQ, but....

What's with the scheduling this year? Finals games used to be on Tues, Thurs, and Sun. Game 3 is on Wed, 4 is on Fri, 5(if necessary) is on Mon this year.

yeah it's jlin though, he understands the value of being in a good situation vs. getting paid. if we can give him a respectable number hopefully he'll stay. he's a great bench player who has the ability to close out games. I think a starting pg role for him is too much.

I mean objectively, he probably isn't a starting pg... but who wouldn't want the opportunity to start? He has the rest of his career to be a bench player but this is most likely his last opportunity to compete for a starting spot.

With no Love, the three bigs that will play are Thompson, Mozgov, and Frye. Frye is not an upgrade on defense and is less versatile on offense by being a catch and shoot guy. Mozgov seems to be broken at this point and Thompson is playing worse than last year.

Friendly reminder that the Cavs have up two firsts for Movgoz.

If he would have done that in Miami, Wade would have gone off on him. The Cavs have been bad and LeBron is not exempt from that criticism.

He's caught flat-out sleeping on several of those plays. The lack of intensity is surprising.

See, sleeping is bad. You want everyone to give a crap in the Finals. But you can fix effort. LeBron and his teammates have a fundamental misunderstanding on how to switch on defense. That can't be fixed overnight.

I love when LeBron commands Thompson to switch to Bogut and then chews him out for giving up a basket. That wasn't Thompson's man!

This and the reason that they've dominated them with the Splash Bros not having a single monster game makes me think this series is over at 5 games at best. Those two, even one of them can win you a game by themselves, but the fact neither has blown up yet tells me it's a matter of time. Lue might double down on trapping both again though which will just mean everyone else is going to dominate them.

At this point it might be worth it to try having just one man on Steph, even out the defense and hope for the best.

Neither Steph nor Klay has gone supernova but look at their statlines for game 2. Cavs didn't exactly stop Steph nor Klay. Both had really efficient shooting games. The only knock would be that they had 4 TO's a piece.

Who knows? But I do know one thing: Bosh and Wade were nowhere near as hopeless on defense as Kyrie and Love...and also I would have trusted Riley to re-tool much moreso than GM LeBron and the Cavs front office.
This is why I am relishing this shit. People beginning to respect the shit that Pat accomplished. Kevin Love and Kyrie are no Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

It's the accusation of every team when they get good.

Not me - I remember that crowd in 07 during the Dallas series. It was awesome.

Coach Nick compares Thunder with Cavs defense vs common Warrior offensive sets.

These videos are so great. Look at how many wide open back cuts they are getting. It's inexcusable, but as Giggle said, you don't learn defense overnight. Defense is about effort but it's also about technique and discipline. And you can't get away with anything against this team.

They switched it around a bit to give the teams an extra day after travel. Seemed to be a common complaint amongst players. As a fan I really liked the former setup, but it makes sense - asking players to fly from Cleveland to Oakland and play a game 36 hours after they land is a lot. The switch back to 2-2-1-1-1 made it of more importance.

I don't really have a team*, I just want to see teams that are fun to watch - this year (and last) that's GSW.

*Well, kind of the Pacers, but.. :/

But what? Pacers are legit. We'll be back in the ECF in no time.

My ":/" is not against Pacers so much, but just indifference to the NBA in general for a while. Being from Iowa I never had a home team to root for, so I would cheer for Pacers since Reggie Miller was my favorite player. After that I really didn't pay a whole lot of attention aside from some big games and playoffs. Honestly it was Curry that roped me back in to start paying closer attention last year, so I'm having to re-endear myself to my team, which was somewhat of a forced fandom to begin with.

I wonder if LeBron just retires instead of playing another season in Cleveland or trying to create another superteam if they get swept. He seems really weak mentally and this would be the type of thing he would do.

Considering we've been hearing about internal strife in Cleveland, Miami, and now Cleveland again, can we conclude that LeBron is the problem? And that he's a lousy teammate when the chips are down? I'd love to hear a counter to this as we've seen his teams continually bicker whenever things are going poorly, no matter which team he's playing for.

I can honestly see that happening, or just take a season off.

He still has way too much money to make before he retires. I also don't think he's mentally weak, he just has an ego and need to focus on playing ball and let the professionals figure out the operational side.

Jerry West went 1-9 in the Finals and is the logo for the NBA. Losing a bunch of finals isn't the end of the story for Lebron.

What kind of job do you think the Cavs front office would've done had Lebron been hands off though? I guess keeping Wiggins is the obvious one and perhaps not firing Blatt..

He makes like $80 million a year from playing now basketball. I don't think he cares as much about the Finals record as people think. Remember "you guys have to wake up to your shitty lives and I'll be LeBron James"? You don't get to where he is in life without supreme confidence. Some internet clowning and memes isn't going to change that.

lol Someone that has lead teams to 6 straight Finals is mentally weak? How in the fuck do you come to that conclusion? Because his teams are losing to better teams?
