Let's not talk stupid now. East was weak as fuck. A healthy Miami was the only chance at giving Cleveland just a decent series. No one but Cleveland had a shot beating the West.

The West had 3 teams that could've chipped.

Yes. This series was close as fuck and could have gone either way. Same would be true of the Thunder and the Spurs. The East had absolutely no team whatsoever other than obviously the Cavs on that level.

except lbj is literally better at basketball than both kareem and magic???

what you're really saying is magic and kareem have better basketball-related accomplishments, but the problem with that is how circumstantial all of that is

no the problem is that you're living in the moment and diminishing just how dominant magic and KAJ were, and for how long. "literally better at basketball" lmao. what does the even mean? how do you contextualize that?

LeBron didn't have top talent around him from 2010-2014? Again, we pretend that Kobe was somehow carried to 3 chips by Shaq and LeBron had no help during those Heat years. That is why these conversations go nowhere.

I mean, for three years Shaq was cheat code.

Kobe was the best possible sidekick money can buy.

Obviously, Bryant turned it around and won some rings with competent bigs that complemented his game.

Just went back and watched Kevin Love's defense on Steph in that last critical possession. Obviously not as flashy as LeBron's block or Kyrie's shot, but dude completely held his own in the most important moments of his career in a scenario that one would expect he would be completely outmatched in. Really impressed with him tonight, even if he wasn't an offensive force

None of this is true. LeBron is a far better offensive and defensive player than Kobe was, and I love Kobe. There are certain specific areas where Kobe is better, things like footwork or turnaround jumper, but overall LeBron could score just as well as Kobe and do it in a much more efficient way. The media characterization of Kobe and LeBron over the last 10 or so years has really colored the way people look at the two of them. Kobe is an all time great, LeBron might be the best ever.

So, some of it is true, his handles were better, his fadeaway, his jumper, he had more moves at his disposal and more finesse and gave no fucks when a game was on the line. Lebron can get real sloppy with the ball, his footwork is far from the best, and often times you will see him just have to bulldoze his way to the basket. It can get stagnate and predictable, standing around a the top of the key, which I feel like has hurt him plenty of times during his career.

He's obviously made it work as much as anyone ever could because he's smart, a great leader and basically a freak, but he's got his flaws, without a doubt.

(and he ain't the best ever, can't ever see it)

I take back everything I've ever said about love, he's worth every penny.

Haha, holy shit that's amazing.

I'm still wearing the smile I had when Kyrie nailed that 3. As a born Ohioan I shall sleep well tonight knowing everyone here will be in good spirits in the morning. I couldn't ask for a game more fun and intense as that. Good jobs cavs for sticking in there. The taste of that finals comeback is delicious.

No matter what rationalization you guys make Cleveland and Bron won a championship title that never been this crazy-ass dramatic as the 2011 Mavs championship run. Great season great series great playoffs, I love Irving's game my god.

the same way you "contextualize" players winning championships during an era when lbj was crawling around in diapers with players of better caliber than lebron has ever consistently had and then use said championships to argue why those guys were somehow "better players" (as if being the best player magically = championship)

oh wait...

He gonna cry in the car
Lebron just made history tonight guys. Why the fuck are we talking about Kobe.

Don't criticize the man tonight/tomorrow. This is the one day he deserves the praise and we can look past his shortcomings in the past. Fuck, what a legend and it's amazing we get to see him in his prime.

Incredibly Naive
I'm really happy cle won, but God I remember why I couldn't stand Bron. Luckily he gave a lot of credit to the city of Cleveland, but the whole time all he could talk about in his post presser was himself. No mention of Kyrie or the other guys outside of them being great followers, but ultimately it was more about him as a leader. A lot of respect for what he does, but he still lacks that side of himself.

Damn.

He was pissed about Curry winning the MVP.
I honestly think the Curry rivalry lit a fire under him.

Also Curry was way more accepted by the media. That had got to hurt.
