Even with how badly Curry choked the entire series and the entire game 7, he could have undone a lot of it by simply making a wide open 3 in the final minutes. He not only missed it, he bricked it and missed the rim. Then his opponent at his position made a 3 over him. He didn't just lose the series, he lost the first 3-1 series lead in Finsls history. He not only lost as unanimous MVP, he lost to his biggest rival in the league who won unanimous Finals MVP.

This was just about the worst way for this player and team to lose. An epic choke job.

I honestly think the Curry rivalry lit a fire under him.

Also Curry was way more accepted by the media. That had got to hurt.

Curry is so much better at playing the part taking responsibility and putting team first. LeBron is otherworldly, but he's still got a lot of growing mentally to do.

I'm really happy cle won, but God I remember why I couldn't stand Bron. Luckily he gave a lot of credit to the city of Cleveland, but the whole time all he could talk about in his post presser was himself. No mention of Kyrie or the other guys outside of them being great followers, but ultimately it was more about him as a leader. A lot of respect for what he does, but he still lacks that side of himself.
you've got to be living in a strange world where one guy literally straps a team on his back and leads them back from a 3-1 series deficit, while leading the series in every statistical category, while also posting the best stats of every player to have played in the finals ever and then expect him to defer all praise to everybody except himself

besides, he's talked about how much it means to him that his teammates have all come together literally all post season long, but of course when you're trying to manufacture a narrative things like that go out the window

I know they are besties but I don't want him on the Laker staff. I am good with BShaw and whoever else. Maybe it will be ok...who knows?

Yep, that one.

They hired the camp director as an assistant coach:

Mermuys, who graduated from Walton’s alma mater, the University of Arizona, also was the camp director for Walton’s and Richard Jefferson’s basketball camp and he was the head coach/director of the Team Walton AAU program.

there's part of me that says OH LEBRON A BITCH, HE COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT HIS BIG THREE

and then there's the other part of me that says fucccckckkkkkkkk, that dude good. GOAT-talk, even.

part of being a fan for a team ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What the hell? Sounds like you're overreacting to me saying he focused too much on what he did. I'm not pushing am agenda I wanted Bron to win this one, his words were disappointing, all he had to talk about was how great of a leader he is. The only time he brought up his teammates was to talk about how they followed him really well, which of course is again about how great of a leader he is

There's talking about taking responsibility and all that, and then there's back-to-back 41 point games and then capping it off with a triple-double. LeBron playing like a demon under pressure is the real mental growth the basketball world has been waiting for. Not "quitting" or "disappearing" in big games like people accused him of doing in his first Cleveland stint, not "relying" on Bosh or Wade to bail him out like people accused him of in his Miami stint. This series was LeBron showing real mental fortitude. If anything, Curry is the guy who has to grow mentally, because these last two finals he's not been impressive.

the same way you "contextualize" players winning championships during an era when lbj was crawling around in diapers with players of better caliber than lebron has ever consistently had and then use said championships to argue why those guys were somehow "better players" (as if being the best player magically = championship)

oh wait...

being the "best" player doesn't matter. the better team lost the Finals this year. it's about winning, and how games are won.

Jordan, Magic, KAJ aren't ahead of LeBron on the GOAT list because they're better at basketball than him. They're ahead because of their dominance in their eras, the way they changed the game - their positions. Their memorable moments. Their complete careers. That's what greatness is, and consistent winning and championships play a huge role in that.

LeBron is a special player and to even be mentioned amongst these greats, and he may even catch and surpass any or all of them. His story isn't finished. But these discussions always go left when people try to compare eras and teams in a vacuum, because there's no way to quantify that. Talking about "well Jordan had pippen" and "KAJ and magic had each other" while LeBron didn't have hall of famers on his team is little better than a thought experiment. It's a team game, and players being great with other great players is not a knock on said great players.

2015 Finals - 35.8 PPG, 13.3 RPG, 8.8 APG, 1.3 STL, 0.5 BLK,

2016 Finals - 29.7 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 8.9 APG, 2.6 SPG, 2.3 BPG

Played less minutes and had a higher FG% this year. Those are some crazy numbers.

good credit (by proxy)
Had to work, just finished the game on DVR. Best sports game I have ever seen or likely will ever see. Best series have ever seen or will likely ever see.

LBJ :bow

4-14 from 3 for Steph

Just cements a Dwight/Biyombo/Whiteside future
It'll be all centers for free agents this summer for the warriors

Next season will be such a shitty one for them, to play each game knowing you lost that game 7 , ouch
