WNBA fans will be happy to play as their players, it's really simple.
You should google WNBA viewership figures, it's much higher than you'd imagine, EA are clearly looking to cater to that demographic as well.

The game is not some rpg, [it's enough wnba players already in the game] it suppose to be a basketball sim last I heard. 15 year old boys have no issue dominating pro women in nearly any sport, let alone basketball where physical explosiveness is important.
