Instead of ratings (like 99 speed, 55 agility, etc), APF uses a tier system and ability system. Players are rated Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Gold, of course being the highest caliber of player. In addition to that, they get special "abilities." These abilities range from "speed burner" (which means he's the among the fastest in his position) to brick wall (which gives players a blocking boost). Created silver players get 2 abilities, bronze get 1, and gold get 3. The pre-made legends that are already in the game can have up to 5.

So, you can make, for example, eddie george with the ability "so close, yet so far away" and "price is right failure trumpet music."

I asked the same question. They said it's at your discretion, but to remain realistic. For instance don't make a player that was slow a speed burner.

You go by the draft list. You get 2 gold, 3 silver, and the rest bronze. We ARE going to have duplicate players in the bronze area because we're not drafting those.

You create your team offline following your draft list, then import it to the online league.

Each team gets to use 11 legends (2 Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Bronze). If you wanted all 11 on D, you could do that. Or on O. Some of the teams here have focused on one or the other, some a little of both. In the draft, we only chose Golds and Silvers, meaning that everyone in the league will have at least 5 unique players on their team. The remaining 6 Legends (Bronzes) we decided to let everyone choose at random, because there aren't enough Bronze Players to support 32 teams of 6 Bronze Legends (that's 192 players needed). Hopefully there won't be too many duplicates among teams (I haven't seen too many so far--doubt anyone but me is putting the season in Rypien's blessed hands!)
