Damn NBA2K21 looks amazing. Not a game I'd buy but wow. Depth of Field looks hot and the SSS on players' skins look much much better than current gen.

What's crazy is I remember playing Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside on the N64 when my grandfather came in and honestly asked my brother and I who was playing. If he were still alive I don't know if he would believe me if I showed him this and told him it was a game.

It really does look amazing though. I haven't bought a sports game in nearly 2 decades but I may poke around when this goes up on PS+ or gamepass later on.

Because MS has their marketing timeline down as to how and when they want to release it. Same reason we haven't seen the PS5 teardown, UI or a B/C game running on PS5.

Well for one; AMD cards on PC don't support ray tracing... PCs also don't currently support velocity architecture.

I want to see how games perform on XSX... not on some guessed at PCs that have older cards and missing features.

Well they should have shown XSX footage instead of "footage representative of XSX".

You do know that gameplay was shown just not alot of gameplay on the actual XSX.

If they actually have XSX footage and chose to show PC footage instead that's a mistake on their part. They have the most powerful console. They shouldn't hesitate to show footage from it.

Maybe you missed them because it is really that fast and you were expecting some kind of loading screen lol

now that you mention it, i do recall seeing the godfall and astrobot loading times videos shared here on sunday.

I still feel the way MS just gave it to western youtubers with hundreds of BC games is a far better approach.

Those consoles aren’t free - they are provided as a mechanism for those you tubers to get paid.

Perhaps remember that when you’re consuming the marketing content on those channels - you are watching paid advertising.

Yeah I did follow the conversation - I can see your point and it is tantalising to see a YouTube demo this stuff. I guess what I’m saying is those YouTube influencers aren’t answering questions for us. They’re providing information MS wants them to provide - in exchange they get hits on their channels and that gets them paid.

So I treat that marketing with as much caution as the Sony canned event. They’re effectively the same type of marketing.

I only watch the MLB on MLB.tv so I don’t see normal ads through that.

I don’t think I’ve seen any ads for any next gen stuff anywhere except YouTube.

I guess with everything sold out for now there isn’t much point for MS or Sony to overhype things just to disappoint people who can’t buy the consoles.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do running up to Christmas if they remain tightly supply constrained.

In the summer when it's scorching hot, just sit beside your Series X since it's somehow only 7 celcius when off. That's roughly the same temp as your fridge.

It would have to be over ambient to make any sense. But he didn't say what he was measuring APU/Board/Case/Exhaust air etc. If it was exhaust air it would be a little hot (around 72 degrees in a 27 degree room), though some laptops do measure even higher than that at load. But I doubt this guy has a unit to measure from so

So it's actually good they did this now. Even unintentionally. It's good for us. So any issues reported they maybe have a chance to rectify before launch. Or even after launch for the next batches.

i remember the PS2 Disc Read Errors. There is no way Sony didnt know about that before launch.

That said, my PC heats up my room whenever I play and this after installing a pretty fancy heatsink on the CPU and three new fans on top of a new cool and quiet case.

if you want high end gaming, thats the price you have to pay. I expect the PS5 to be hot too.
