AFAIK PS5 has 3x USB 3.1 Gen 2, 10Gbps, and XSX has only USB 3.0 (also known as 3.1 Gen 1), 5Gbps. PS5 has wifi6 vs wifi5 on XSX, and PS5 has Bluetooth 5.1 vs 5.0 on XSX. We'll know more about these going forward and seems like one won't age well.
Sony gearing up for PS5, but with only one true 100% HDMI 2.1 tv so far "from Sony", X900H (XH90)
Yeah, I hear you. Nothing wrong with discussing stuff like this either, especially if you're taking some report like this and JUST discussing it rather than representing it as industry wide fact or something. But as you say...humans tend to identify STRONGLY with things they buy....teams or groups that they follow, etc. We're very tribal and divide ourselves into groups a lot. From Ford/Chevy and cars to favorite sports team...then to these plastic boxes that we buy for entertainment and want to believe we made the BEST choice...some tend to get REALLY invested in it all.
I don't know about 'retiring' from this place. It's a lot of fun. I do assume the thread will be closed down sometime after release since there will be no more 'speculation' needed, but there will be other places to discuss new things. Real world performance and of course the inevitable comparisons between games running on both platforms... Point is, there's still a lot to discuss.
As for THIS thread...I still feel there's an awful lot we don't know, so we can still speculate on a lot. So still a lot of fun and hopefully mature dialog to be had!
Oh boy! WTF was microsoft thinking skimping on USB ports speeds? Thats like very important considering data transfer from external drives to internal.
Weird
It has been fun, i agree and i would say i have learned a lot of stuff from people. Although i don't really dabble in posts outside of this thread, i do read most of them, on the console stuff, i have improved my technical knowledge by a lot thanks to a lot of users.
what i am talking about now is harmless banter being regarded as extreme and bannable.
But we see what happens.

Yep, this thread could probably do with closing. It’s become a magnet for the console warriors, and has gotten a bit tedious.
Don’t worry fish boy, things will be better once the consoles are out
The data that is stored on those is probably encrypted so that only one machine can use it anyway. Otherwise, what is stopping you from from loading games on there and selling them on Ebay?
The DRM ties the download to your account, so you'd have to also sell access to your Xbox Live account. The data that is stored on those is probably encrypted so that only one machine can use it anyway. Otherwise, what is stopping you from from loading games on there and selling them on Ebay?
so now spilling water on consumer eletronics is just a xsx problem, if you spill water on ps5 what do you think will happen? Do you think it will absorb it and make you a tea from one of the dust holes? for god's sake at least don't be stupid when you try to be a console warrior. this is getting ridiculous, just buy what you like more and stop
Budget went to the APU

No, one of my cats literally peed on my PS4 Pro on the top and nothing happened, even though it was super wet (yes ew...) imagine that on the Switch or XSX
That's because you are acting as if you are concerned knowing full well you won't buy a XSX, and implying there's a heat issue when it's been debunked. You read a lot of posts you say, well then you know there's no issue with the heat so why do you keep bringing it up?I don't know, there is so much bullshit going on. To me, it seems if you just mention the word heat, it brings in an army of the usual rabid fanboys. seconds later they are all trying to get you banned.

I don't think it matters when the internal SSD can't flood the 3.0 bus, and I'm not certain what the PCI bus in the XSX maxes at, but it wouldn't make much sense to have an external bus that exceeds that. I think they spec'd the USB ports correctly, but i could be wrong. I'm too lazy to look it up.Oh boy! WTF was microsoft thinking skimping on USB ports speeds? USB C display port alt mode. For VR. That is why they have a 350W power supply as well even though the SoC won't draw most of that. A single USB C cable will carry video, data and power to the VR headset.

I'm just waiting for the 3600s to drop in price before I bite, hoping today's news helps nudge it down from £190 Then I gotta pick a mobo with onboard optical and decide if I get a 5500XT or a 1650 SuperLet's go guys, Zen 3 hype!!
Sorry, don't kick me out please, just excited for some great CPU news here 🏳

Here Qualcomm's announcement from earlier this year:

Here for my daily replies of users unable to cope.
Aren't you connecting to the tv and then to the receiver via eARC?I feel like my denon reciever is cock blocking framerates
Timdog is a stable genius. He changes his Series X position two times per hour to flex on you and there's nothing you can do about it.Since 2016, I've never taken my PS4 Pro from its place. You gotta be mentally unstable to be switching stances frequently.
Wouldn't the 3.1 gen 2 spec still be in play? I think the quest link setup uses USB 3.1 gen 2 as well so it won't be a hindrance but definitely doesn't need type-c port.

This gen it's the way to go with all VRR support
Power delivery that high is not possible due to regulations about the main power cord being only rated up to 250W at USA, since you get lower voltage then current has to be higher. PSU are more beefy, because PSU are most effective at 70-80% of their utilisation.USB C display port alt mode. For VR. My mistake. I thought it was bytes and not bits. I hate that speeds are still presented in useless bits, when storage is all bytes. It can, 10gbps vs 5gbps is the double, 10gbps = 625mb/s of transfer rate (xsx reads are 2500mb/s). 10gbps would be 1.25gb/s of course which is a lot better to copy/paste games.
You can connect the PS4 to an HDMI port of your tv to have support for VRR and high FPS (although I don't know if it supports that) and then the HDMI ARC to the receiver. I haven't looked at it but I suppose that TV should support eARC and support Dolby Atmos or DTS-HD passthroughWait.... no im connecting the reciever i to “ arc hdmi of the tv” >>>then my ps4 pro is connected to BD hdmi of the reciever

XSX has Bluetooth? That's a new feature for them if correct.

You give me that laugh emote Bo_Hazem , but I was being serious. OG X1 doesn't have Bluetooth and I don't believe X1X has that feature either. If XSX has even an old version, I can see it being useful for KB/Mouse etc. I was trying to confirm that with you. Have you seen where it has Bluetooth?
Edit: Nevermind, I see your new post.
Again all those reports have been debunked, you know this. You deliberately keep bringing it up.I also asked why the Xbox was clocked so low 3 months ago, and no batted an eyelid, but now i bring it up it is considered as Fud and i am regarded as Satans scum by people like you.
As for the heat thing, there were reports from people, you have seen them, and not just one, they have come from people that have xboxs, am i not allowed to enquire or ask why there hot? Just because you don't want to hear about it or dismiss it is not my problem, that's yours.
I am allowed to say it runs hot, aren't i? Am i lying, no i am not. And yes regardless of what anyone on this forum tells me, when i see the words Toasty, super hot and Violent being used to describe a console, that makes me worry.
But now, the mere mention of this is now considered Taboo, because certain people feelings can't take the fact that there beloved piece of plastic is run a bit hot.
Is it the end of the world, no, will you still get to drool all over your favorite piece of plastic, of course, you will.
But there are videos of people Describing it as running hot, you need to deal with it not me, not me
And if you don't like what i am saying, hit the report button like the rest of the fanatic xbox people and get me banned.
I have no problem going and it will make your life a little bit easier.
I wish they had it but they are sticking to their wireless protocol. Is there been any bandwidth specs for that protocol? Not laughing at you, you are my buddy . Laughing at the fact it has no Bluetooth. That's shocking!
