Nope, the unified CCX design benefits memory access and latency significantly however the defining feature of Zen 3 over Zen 2 are the IPC gains as well as efficiency.

Again this all in the realm of speculation and rumours, I’m not saying this is definitive or something.

And I don't think that apart from exclusive games from Sony studios, productions will use the maximum speed of these discs.
Maybe cheaper SSD as a second one for games where 7GB/s disk will only change the level loading speed is not such a stupid option.

As I read your post and think about it, personally I don’t believe that the subject of “which NVMe SSD to get?” is about trying to predict whether or not which devs will utilize the hardware to this or that extent but rather being ready with the hardware we purchase (as consumer gamers) for whatever the devs ultimately decide development-wise .

I mean the Sabrent Rocket 4+ is about 7gb/s Read and 6.8gb/s write speed. I think that with a 1-2Tb, I’d be personally set for the rest of the gen for PS5 gaming.

I dont understand why gamers would be against next gen tech in a next gen console. You should demand more from this $500 machine 7 years after their last next gen console especially when the competitor is able to provide it. And if you are ok with getting fewer features because you got more tflops then fine, be happy with what you got, but there is no need to attack others who want more.

The difference between 4k and 1080p is 6 million pixels. or 4x. Just because they are struggling to hit native 4k doesnt mean they will struggle to hit 1080p. thats fanboy nonsense and you should be embarrassed. If anything, the xsx's DMCV port is not shipping with RT in its 1080p 60 fps version so should we use that to say that EVERY xsx game will struggle to run at 1080p?

Sony is not using that chipset.

They are using NXP's chipset (a company based in the Netherland's), and NXP's acquired Marvell's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology in Dec, 2019, so it's a Marvell's chipset.

The model number that Sony has is not listed on the NXP website, but they have two chipset's that are close to those specifications, the NXP 88W9098 (link), and the NXP 88W9098 (link).

The part number looks to be NXP 88W9100.

Based on the numbering scheme that NXP uses, it's possibly a more advanced or just custom part.

A great help to my research is this thread (here at Neogaf) so thanks to Apollo Helios for that.

Based on the application with the Peruvian state (Grant of Equipment Authorization) (similar to the FCC in the US) no 6GHz frequencies are mentioned, so the PS5 will not support technology similar to Qualcomm Wifi6E.

From what i understand this is by far the most popular thread in Gaming, if not the entire website. It would suck to have it closed down just because the teardown happened.

There is no reason this thread shouldnt continue to exist as a Post release PS5/XSX comparison thread. there is still a lot we dont know about real world performance and features disparity between the two consoles.

Because the console was supposed to ship 2019 and all the titles shown so far are PS4 games that shifted to PS5 development that have been in the works for a while... i've said this multiple times and people got upset with me but the fact that most of the games have been officially revealed to be cross-gen it should be more obvious to people. Not saying the games look bad or are held back in any way, i'm just saying they're showing us PS4 games running on the PS5 dev kits with snazzy next gen enhancements added on.

The biggest differential factors with a new CPU and GPU architecture are the IPC gains.
The PS5 could have some features of the new architecture. It happened before with the PS4 iirc.

You better believe those bethesda games will show up on ps5 day and date on release. From what I remember every SSD NVMe Controller needs SRAM.
It is for buffer / cache.

First off, which games are not running at 4K? Secondly, what cutbacks on power? RAM? We'll see. If the PS5 has anything to do with the rumored "infinity cache" than perhaps it's not so bandwidth starved as you speculate. Not to mention the PS5 ability to feed that RAM in the first place...
