This is pretty funny. If the situation was reversed and DF was invited to Sony to teardown a PS5 and received a PS5 early to do BC analysis do you honestly think they wouldn't cover it? Mark Cerny is awesome. I'm just making fun of the worship. Marble Madness is one of the greatest games ever made and the PS4 (not Pro) is an amazing piece of hardware. I'm not at all impressed with what I've seen from PS5 so far. It looks over designed as hell.

They were likely constricted to 36 CUs for BC purposes. That means the clocks had to be pushed higher than an APU with more CUs to achieve similar results. The heating solution wouldn't be as crazy if their BC solution didn't force those design choices much like Kinect forced strange Xbox One design choices. I see a lot of parallels, but obviously we'll have to wait a month or so to know for sure how it all works out.
Creating Knack is a far superior achievement.

We don't know how much RDNA2 will improve video encode/decode rates yet over RDNA1 yet, other than 2 supporting AV1 so far.Might alleviate some questions, but probably create even more questions.

Or maybe just throwing shaders at the problem isn't the best tactic for a console with a limited power and die space budget, especially if you're planning a large portion of the die for custom I/O and audio units. And everyone knows faster clocks help gaming performance. They weren't forced to use higher clocks, or the same CUs as PS4 Pro.

I'm actually saying that PS5 RDNA2 can potentiallydo better than 4K/90, by how how much though is yet to be seen, especially 'if' it can support H.266 as well.Basically the video core of RDNA2, which has been leaked supports this. I'm going to continue to assume until I see evidence otherwise.
