Maybe I missed you talking about it, but didn't you skip 1 or two specials that weren't on Netflix?

I watched them all. But, I have old Who to go through, I suppose. Truthfully, not very impressed so far. But, I've only watched the first two Hartnell serials and the first Baker one.

You've still got the Proms!

And, if you're feeling ambitious, Big Finish.

I'm so sorry for you. Logopolis and Castrovalva are pure shite.

Is it The Wire?

:lol

Poor G-Fex...

I'm not a huge fan of those three stories, but they are worth a watch, and they do have some good moments. Beginning of the end for classic Who in many ways, though.

I'm currently debating whether to pick up the Revenge of the Cybermen/Silver Nemesis pack or just to wait out the inevitable price drop so I can snap them up cheap and indulge my completionist side then. Would anyone seriously pay full price for Silver Nemesis?

Next series on in the autumn? It's The Sun so probably not, but the quote at the end is great:

SINBAD the Sailor faces his toughest challenge yet - a ratings war with Doctor Who.
Sky1's 13-part series of the classic tale, costing up to £2million an episode, will go out at the same time as the Time Lord's series in autumn 2011.
Sinbad - revealed by TV Biz in June - will be set in modern-day Basra, Iraq.
Bosses are still looking to cast the lead role for the family drama - and may launch UK-wide auditions to find a sexy and young unknown star to play a 21-year-old Sinbad.
Sky1 controller Stuart Murphy said: "It is by far our biggest show next year.
"Doctor Who is aimed at one type of family - our show will be for a younger, cooler family who like sexy, cool heroes.

Is it possible for Sky One to completely go out of business, cause everything I've read about them announcing for Fall/Winter seems like it will bomb - some of the worst original programming they've ever done. Have they even grabbed any decent US shows this year? Living, Bravo (Spartus), Virgin 1 (Chuck) and SyFy (Human Target) seems to be picking up all the stuff they would get a few years back. No Mad Men, Glee, True Blood, Dexter, Breaking bad. None of the bigger interesting new shows at all.

With 24 and Lost gone, they are very shaky. I guess they will probably pick up something like Undercovers (cause of Abrams name) as a replacement, but that show looks a bit iffy to me.

PS: Hex is still the best original programming they ever did

I love the idea of Sky trying to do a credible drama in itself, but the idea of a nationwide search? That's code for "talent show spinoff".

Well they signed a deal to get every HBO show last week:

They've bought HBO, so Boardwalk Empire. And they have the rights to all their old stuff as well, so The Sopranos and The Wire.

EDIT: Beaten :c

Well, that about fixed all my problems with SkyOne. Still dont think their original stuff will work out though

Nah, that stuff is definitely not their strong point.

I still commend them for trying though, especially in this day and age where most other commercial broadcasters in this day and age are struggling.

Did Winston Churchill Order a UFO Cover-Up?
As part of an ongoing project to declassify government reports related to unidentified flying objects, the Ministry of Defense and The National Archives Wednesday released about 5,000 pages of correspondence between the public and British authorities on UFO sightings.

One of the letters was from a man claiming his grandfather was present at a wartime meeting with Churchill and U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The declassified letter from 1999 redacts the names of the sender and his grandfather, but says the two leaders were briefed on a UFO incident reported by a Royal Air Force (RAF) bomber crew.

While returning to Britain from a mission in Germany, the crew was reportedly approached by a metallic UFO on the English coast. The crew even took photographs of the UFO, the letter said.

The writer said that the UFO appeared to "hover noiselelessly" and then suddenly disappeared.

What do you guys think - new thread before Christmas (say, late November) or after Christmas (say, early-to-mid January)? Technically speaking, I think the Christmas special is the start of Series 2, 6, 32 or Snarg.

I'd go with a new thread before Christmas as soon as we start to get some serious info on the special

Well at least it wasn't as bad as the sixth doctor. Baker didn't even show up and McCoy had to wear a wig. :lol

Sorry for bumping a dead thread. Too late for regeneration I guess.

I love the bad, momentary lip-syncing. See it so often.

I wasn't going for lip-syncing but it's funny that it looks that way. :lol

Worst cover so far.

I guess this won't include the missing music from the first four series. There's a ton of stuff from Father's Day, The Girl in the Fireplace, and The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances that I've been waiting for for years.

STOP SHITTING ON MY MOTHER'S HEADSTONE
So I started watching Torchwood.

I know there's a lot of hate for the first season, but it's not THAT bad. I'm having some fun watching it.

It's just not that great, either. And it has a serious case of Trying Too Hard.

Episode two, if I remember correctly, opened with an alien that lived off orgasms and shagged someone in a toilet at a club whilst someone monitoring the CCTV booth having a wank.

TV GOLD.

I might be wrong on that cos I don't want to watch it again.
