I remember for last year's game I was roasted for saying that in the hands of a good player Tavaris Jackson to Sidney Rice (or was it Berrian) would be as good as Peyton Manning to Reggie Wayne and that for a lot of positions the ratings in the game do not matter. For the most part that remains the same this season. Matching up against a good RT is the same as matching up against a bad one, it takes the same moves to get around them no matter what. My receivers are totally interchangeable (they are rated around the same so I guess it should be the case) and I do not miss Burress at all. If I could ever stop throwing picks my passing game would be awesome. Where the ratings really matter are for the guys that play in space, LBs and DBs. DTs with good ratings are very noticeable as well, much moreso than DEs.
Certain cats matter, block shedding, press/release, and the accuracy for short/med/long throws, but a lot of em are throw away.
It's interesting, I read that OS thread too and came away with the impression that for certain positions the differences were marginal, but nevertheless present. It's kind of a dilemma with all sports games, or at least recent sports games. I know with FIFA it's sometimes difficult to tell teams and players apart, and an awful team can compete more closely with a great team than it should have any right to (although this is more acceptable in soccer, where blowouts are far less common). It's almost like the game needs more "programming" differentiating low level players from mid and high level players. Let's see more animations for mediocre players who don't know wtf they're doing!Wellington said:

Edit: I got two headshots with a sniper with one Bullet last night in Halo 3. Ive never felt more badass
You going 100% at those brutes with the shotgun after the enemy deflects bullets skull already turned on ranks somewhere in my top 10 online moments of all time. Probably right behind stealing my first weapon from a corpse in Phantasy Star Online

I'm the one team everyone will be afraid to play if I get into the playoffs as I've been knocking down above .500 teams on my latest push. 5-1 in my last 6 had a hiccup against green bay but I have no idea how to stop AT on defense! I lost to too many sub .500 teams in the beginning of the season.
BTW I am 8-6 now taking out the Ravens.

You didn't dominate a damn thing. First game was tied in the 3rd when it got disconnected. Rematch I just didn't take into account EA overrating Maclin's ability. I think he had more catches and receiving yards in our one madden game than he has the entire eagles season so far! Even with eas ability to overrated rookies I still took you out!
I even gave you a gift at the end of the game with the fumble and you had a chance to tie it up. Just like a true Eagle player against the Bears, you choked when the game was on the line!
