My defense just played great. Even when I didn't call blitzs they still made you hurry to get the pass off. I tried to keep my offense conservative and your D just stopped almost all of my runs. Felt like it just wasn't going to go your way even from your opening drive and ended with you fumbling.

I knew I saved that blocked FG for a reason along with my other plays. Happy now? I should get some kind of reward. :lol Now for some of my highlights.
The first play of the game and Cassels first of many turnovers.
As the first quarter came to an end Cassel throws into triple coverage and gets picked off. One of Smiths two INTs.
Despite not getting any younger, Champ still dominates.
It wouldn't look good if one of starting LBs ended a full season without a pick and he finally got one on Matrix's last play of the game.
My pass rushing specialist, the speedy Barnes, also gets his second pick of the year showing he can play a little bit of coverage. Sadly, no video of that.

fitz gets fucking stone hands at the worst time in this game
pretty sure after i built up that lead the sequence was:
-fitz td drop
-roughing the kicker on 4th
-int
-int

fmt plays a div game today so he would have it on that basis if he's tied but as we all know tiebreakers have no rhyme or reason. if it is based on PF/PA or any of those, which it sometimes seems to be, then i have the edge there. i say if we have to, by rule, give an nfc west team a playoff berth, just make it as illegitimate as possible, go all the way. i would be very proud to try to set some sort of int record, rough up some kickers, drop passes with fitz, etc. could be the best playoff game ever.

As for my team, I adjusted the depth chart a bit putting in more youth. Ugh, lost so many games this season by mostly a touchdown or field goal.

Then the true turning point of the game came on this. I had fourth and short on the 10, went to go kick a field goal. As the ball went through the uprights, I felt my controller rumble. Running into the kicker (!) and I had a first down. Immediately following the penalty, I ran the next play in for a TD, Astro had a holding penalty on the kickoff and the next pass got intercepted and returned for a touchdown. 11 point swing in about 15 seconds. I checked out the penalty after the game and it was such a bad call I felt the need to break out my camera.

Apparently Crosby stubbed his toe pretty bad on the play.
That leaves me at 12-4 and at worst tied for the second best record in the conference. I'm ahead of the Vikings according to the in-game standings and if the real NFL tiebreakers are used, I should have the division even if Daw wins his game (we split head-to-head and I have the better division record). Hopefully that will give me the bye, but who knows how the tiebreaking will actually work. At this point, I'm just rooting for Wellington and hoping for the best.

The TO's on my end were crazy though. First play of the game, INT. Then Gates gets a breakaway and the safety strips the ball from him (on my 2nd possession of the game). Back to back TOs. That sucked.
Was very pleased at how my defense played. I must give credit to Wellie for opening my eyes to some things, it appears to really have helped!
It's been a fun regular season guys, see (some) of you all in the playoffs!

its pretty much guaranteed that the tiebreaker is PF, so i wont get in
but i can still finish 8-8 and then bitch about not getting in when i should have if they were using the real NFL rules!

p.s. and yeah i probably would lose in the 1st round. i'd either have to play the vikes, packers, or giants. hilarious that a 12-4 team will have to play in arizona in the first round (an 8-8 team!)
