Yeah, I don't think it's bland at all. (I agree what you think about Fuse.) Just.... weird haha. Like, inches short of making Pixar characters but instead we ended up with the Dreamworks smirk.

Each Overwatch character can have an anime of its own... they have a lot of personality and they are completely different from each other, very rare to find that on FPS... so... where do you see that "Dreamworks smirk"? (Also, is Shrek that?)

I have some other stuff!

Netcode!
Tickrate!
Several Hitboxes!

Roadhog's hook seems to have priority over everything else. That, or the actual physical model of it doesn't represent the server side very well. So frustrating. Plus you can hook people around corners when they aren't visible.

when did you guys say that amount of xp to lvl would stop? it wasnt at 22 becuase for 23 I need a bit more now

Netcode! Waaaaaaaaaaaay better than Destiny, BO3, Battlefront,...
Tickrate! You didnt notice it until someone told you... so... mindset...

Oh god you're right. Giving him a yoga teleport would of awesome considering the other supports have fun mobility options. The only thing he got was silent walk speed but he's so slow I'm not sure you can flank with him to leverage the silent walk.

yoga teleport crossup shenanigans on reinhardt :O

Hanzo is shooting log sized arrows.
You get killed by so many projectiles while already around corners / blinked away.

The list can go on and on!

Is there a way to see my connection quality somehow? I noticed an option related to it, but can't figure out how to check it. I'm on PS4 if it matters.

Seen this happen a bunch... funny too because sometimes his hook will then literally go through a wall or corner then try to pull the player to him but it stops on the wall/corner canceling the action lol.

I'm not trying to complain about the game. It's fun. It's great value at $40. I don't mind the cosmetic micro-transactions. It's just that I see so many people absolutely love the characters (perhaps even more than the gameplay) and I can't relate to it. I want to, but I can't. That's all.

The word you were looking for is "stereotypical." The character designs are mostly unique, but many of the personalities given to them are generic and, more importantly, static (this isn't a narrative driven game where the story will change the characters).

Your "bad guy" is typical edgelord stuff, you've got your "good guy" team leader, the "spunky" girl, the solemn and dignified healer, Beast from X-Men, etc. Those are the "face" characters that are on all the marketing specifically because they are simplistic and easy to understand.

The most dynamic character trait is "used to be good/bad, but is the opposite now." Not much room for character development in a game like this.

Just played a few payload matches on ps4 where almost everyone was playing deathmatch of somekind while completely forgeting about the payload itself. I mean it says "Escort" in big letters but doesn't seem like it's enough.

Times like these I wish I would be playing with a premade. Had a terrible luck with randoms today, pfft. Overwatch's a completely different game on pc as everyone tries to play as a team or I've been really lucky with matchmaking on pc.

Oh well, I suppose you lose some and win some but it sure is nasty going from loss to a another.

My play of the year killed Neogaf for several minutes

a) Maybe, but this game is way faster so smaller annoyances are way harder to deal with
b) no, I know Tickrate and I noticed in the beta that something is off
c) lol, no comment on this one because it's just stupid

Not on PS4, but PC can enable additional info like ping and detailed GPU stats. If PS4 has it it's "enable additional info" check mark in settings

I played as a tank one or twice.

Died in seconds and couldn't help anyone

Never again.

Yeah sort of worried about that. I guess I should maybe just stick to the easier heroes for a time while I get used to the feel of matches before diving into some of the other heroes.

I swear you could just pick reinhardt and have his shield up 95% of the time and i'd love you

He's the easiest to play imo

I call bs. I've been hooked through a wall enough times to know that the tickrate need improvement.

I've heard mixed opinions, but what is the consensus on playing this game by yourself? None of my friends play this so that's what I'm gonna have to do. Should I even bother?

I once hooked someone at the same time they ragequit the match. The hook followed them out and I was attached to 'something' outside the map. The chain was visible to other players (my friends were in the match) and I couldn't do anything but walk around slowly.

NO HACKS REQUIRED!

It sucked ass for me until I crossed some magical threshold past level 20 or however much time Blizzard thinks. Then I got put against and with really great players constantly, so everyone was on point with hero picks and teamplay.

Winkyface spoiler lol ok...

No, it's not stupid. People often complain about something because they are completely ignorant of it. Keep playing, you will learn about all the things in the game, then you will remember your comment and meditate. "Way too big hitboxes". Each class has its own advantages and disadvantages, and hitboxes are one of them, also what Blizzard wants and how they made it this way... keep playing, you will learn this eventually...

The game does MMR like Starcraft 2 but is hidden.

I've found at lvl 15 or so you get enough matches to actually matchmake correctly with your skill.

But it is based on full matches completed, so it might change depending.
