I did pretty well in the beta and am absolutely horrible in the release. I can't play most of the character (seriously, it's like I can't aim for shit. I was killed as reinhardt by a fucking mercy and her gun and decided it was time for me to quit this evening),and lose a large number of the games (I'd expect to lose a bit less than 50% if I was playing slightly worse than average).

I can play Mercy decently well so i might stick with that. Some characters I absolutely, resolutely cannot play, especially turret dude - when I play against one my entire team will be decimated by a turret. My turret are destroyed within seconds (bad placement, but even following online advice, they get fucked).

Will try again tomorrow I guess :/

edit: also in spite of the OP's advice, Bastion decimates any team I play with. I try to be sneaky with Hanzo but I get fucked all the same. Perhaps the only thing I can pull off quite a few times (and which is immensely entertaining) is to pin it with reinhardt.

Yeah I been through quite a few pug matches that no one wants to do support, so I mostly just do Lucio then when it comes to those. I enjoy playing him a lot through.

Playing support should get an xp bonus for real. I like playing Lucio but too often it means the difference between winning or losing in pugs

This is true, but one awesome thing is using his alt fire knockback in Nepal to knock people off the temple platform. Was able to get like 4 people in one round like this today and it is super hilarious.

Putting the shield away allows it to repair/recharge.

The ult knockdown gives a great chance for a melee multi-kill if timed right.

Shielding a well positioned Bastion can be hellish to deal with for the other team.

Using a charge out of the gate to get the payload moving asap catches a lot of people out in these early days and encourages your own team to get out of the spawn area.

Clutch wins in overtime are amazing.

Squatting behind the payload and then skating around it like an idiot as a Bastion and Hanzo chase me. Team came up and really did some work and got the payload in. Spent like the last 40 seconds of the match in overtime before we won.

Bought it today, I went to target practice to play around with the heroes and it kicked me because the session lasted too long? lol

Then I played about 3 games, lost 1, won 2. Playing with randoms and I'm hopeful that for the most part people know what they're doing. Played Reinhardt in a match for the first time, escorted the payload and teammates actually used my shield for cover. Twas a good time even though we lost.

Got a POTG with Pharah which was an embarrassing double kill. >_>

I enjoy playing as Mercy, but you do need your team to keep an eye out for you. Nothing more infuriating than getting shot to shit when you're boosting an Offence character who just wont fucking shoot the one killing you.

If your target is smart which that is a toss up in pub games they will protect you. I was playing Mercy covering my friend who was Winston earlier and I just healed her while she bounced around and punched people in the face it was great.

So one of my games today had some stuff I feel I should mention. Overall it was still a good session (im well over the 50% win rate again), but a couple of things were noticiable in this particular game:

A) the completely oblivious player. Had a game with a Mcree that all he did was left click. From a distance, never engaging. I was Mercy and one of the times I was healing him, we get ganked by someone and he proceeds to just continue to left click him while he murders me, and then him. No stun, no dump. I very rarely call people out, but I actually typed "Jesus dude kill him, I cant do shit while im healing you" and "if you dont know, you can right click to dump your entire clip on people". He continued to not dump.

So when you talk about "bad players" remember that these people exist, these are the actual bad players, someone that clearly didnt even bother to look at his skills or even try his buttons.

And then B) the classic "no tank, no healer". Unsurprisingly, it was the same game. So at the start I pick Zarya and then everyone is on dps so I say "yo someone pick a support, or at least a tank and ill heal" and nobody did. Wasnt even a silence thung either, people actually typed "im not doing it" etc. Fast forward to the end of the game, where we are trying to capture the second point, and cant because of course, we have no one to engage, to get in there and draw fire, to disrupt. We have a bunch if squishies shooting from the sides and me trying to heal them.

Dont be this guy. Either the oblivious guy, or the refuse to change guy. Thats what makes you a actual noob, the skill comes with time/practice and most people dont mind or notice. But these type of fundamental shit, you cant learn that.
