noob question: do you get anything if you're picked after the game. like, extra xp or anything?
I totally agree. I've change heroes a few times if things aren't going well and something else is needed. However, most people just stick with the same hero regardless, as you said.

I can't get my mouse to feel right in this game no matter what settings and sensitivity i try. I wish I could get it to feel as snappy it does in csgo.

She's great for locking down chokepoints. That's definitely her key strength. When you have the enemy stalled, switch to Zarya to make sure they flat-out cannot push.
Great in other scenarios too, but she's very much a close-ranged fighter who can make moving around corners and in hallways a complete hell for the opposition. She's also a Mercy's best bet for survival in a teamfight.

I feel like Zenyatta could use a little bit more health, 175 or even 200. It's silly that he could be one-shotted on the body by Widowmaker and it's so hard to avoid that because he is so slow. And in top of that, he has no escape mechanism.

Powerful, but you need the team for her. She's a good filler option when you have DPS, a tank and heals.
In mother russia it is never high noon
Whats hard to use about Zarya? You have a self shield and a grenade alt fire, you dont even need to be good at aiming

McCree is a tad too powerful (he can cancel his ult for only 50% penalty, which is a bit much IMO), and Zenyatta is a tad too weak (HP issues, as everyone's mentioned).
That's about it if you ask me.

Um, what about a non sniper class? It's about being everything including tanks and heals. Those are the characters most people refuse to use.
Roadhog doesn't count.

Never experienced that. :\ Are you and your brother in the same network? And can you always replicate this with your brother and another person? Definitely try to write to Blizzard about it if so.
I been in that position at times too, when no one else want to do support, and I feel there the need for one. But anyway I should probably work on at least another offensive hero beside Pharah if there already a support in a attacking team. I just can't get into tanking much through.

Zarya is no joke. So satisfying to use her. She's the only tank with a decently ranged weapon and it can become buffed as fuck with the right amount of damage blocking. Gotten really successful since I started using her.

Man, Mei on Arcade is some bullshit when the other team is escorting. Had like 4 of them just making walls and turtling when they got low on health.
I switched to Bastion and stopped that shit with the quickness.
Played for about 4 hours last night.
Bastion was annoying at times, but McCree was the only character that really felt OP.
I think I like Mei the most so far. Ice Block while contesting to avoid D. Va's and Hanzo's ult was good fun.
I thought I would like D. Va more than I did, but I think I'm just not utilizing her Defense Matrix and Boosts enough.
Lucio is a mix of fun and frustrating. I love his Support game, but his main weapon sucks big time. The R2 blast is loads of fun though.
Zarya(?) was the other character that pleasantly surprised me. I'll probably spend a bit more time with her as well.

Actually sometimes the healing isnt doing much when you are trying to push that last bit and its good to switch to dps or another tank to disrupt. Even healers should switch if needed

It's very frustrating as if things aren't going smoothly I'll change heroes on average three times. But I'll see the same Hanzo or Widowmaker at the end of the game that I saw at the beginning that's done very little to help except maybe the occasional Ult.
Then these same people will get mad during a game and say "Of course we're gonna lose!"
Switch to a different support then.
Maybe Lucio needs a turn, or Zenyatta.

He`s not someone you want to be up close with. Dude can take a pounding, plus he has a good self heal. And that hook...

He's more of a 1v1 hero (villain?) than a true tank who helps his team push forward with shields (Rein) or the way Winston can drop shields and jump to the back line to disrupt snipers. Even Roadhogs who are playing in a clump with the rest of the team aren't really tanking anything. Watch some competitive matches and see how people fight behind their Reinhardt.
I know a lot of people think they're being awesome with a 75% hook rate, but it would be so much better if that spot was a Winston or Reinhardt.
He also just not that good and as people get better it will become more and more apparent.
Implying blocking 40k damage isn't fun.

Getting really ticked off playing with people during the attack phase of a payload match who don't actively push and close the gap between the payload and the final objective. I'm all out in the open as D.va blocking shit with my matrix, mowing down anybody who dares to get close to the payload to the best of my ability and the rest of my team just hangs back around the corner and leaves me to juggle everything and inch the payload closer and closer. Widowmakers in particular seem to be obvilious to the fact that they have a decent secondary autofire mode and a mine to bait and drain enemies for closer range fights and they can use their grapple to zip onto other platforms to flank and snipe and give the attackers support.
It boggles my mind how often people seem to totally ignore the payload.

Yeah I've been in that situation a few times, when your whole team is split up and more interested in playing TDM there's no point picking Reinhardt or Mercy for example, as you need one or two players backing you up to be effective. I found I was better off going a tank or support class that is more solo capable like Roadhog or Lucio.
