I'm pretty experienced with every character and I switch it up to adapt to the situation. It's all about the team. Having a favourite character is actually detrimental in getting good at this game. You need to know everybody, there is no best character, only what is right for the situation. I'm not going to lose one for the team because I refuse to change characters, I will switch to Bastion if my team is losing and win the game. No one is prepared to have Bastions show up all of a sudden after an entire match without one. I always win when I change to bastion at the last second and just unexpectedly mow everyone down at the defence point.

Zenyatta is FAR from useless. His healing orb has a far longer range than that of Mercy's healing beam and heals faster than Lucio's area heal. His orb of discord can also help anyone else attacking an enemy (in addition to helping you kill that enemy yourself). Charging his primary attack + Orb of Discord can be a very effective way to pick off enemies from a distance such as Widowmakers (they usually don't watch out for Zenyattas). And his ult is really nothing to sneeze at. I just finished a game where the ult was the primary factor in pushing a cart to the next checkpoint on overtime, and from there we went on to win.

So what do you even do against 2 support, 2 Winston, 2 McCree? Don't say "Reaper" because you know McCree bodies him for free.

Sometimes I wish people would realize that a Lucio spamming "My Ultimate is ready!" is trying to tell them, "Hey, assholes, get back to the payload (where I'm all alone, by the way) so I can keep you alive longer!" Still, managed to get the Supersonic achievement tonight, so it was a good Lucio run in the end.
eh... I don''t agree,, obviously it plays a large part on the team, but I've been up against 4 bastions, 4 hanzos.. and maybe that's it. and they all fell. the hanzos were particularly awful.
it's a last resort to try and game the game. players suck so they gimmick. and you couldn't even get away with 4 or 5 of the most desirable characters on all of the maps or modes.. etc.

B ) listening when I say they have a teleporter, they will back almost immediately if you aren't on the look out for it.
Had a bit of fun with McCree today, helped some sloppy teams, but interestingly the game actually recommends you use him on tanks. I really think Blizz should think carefully about how they touch him. I wouldn't worry about high teir play, you nerf him, he'll just be replaced by another character like soldier.
He really is freaking hard to use effectively in regular casual play you have to be patient, know the map and hunt down players where you aren't noticed. He's really cool because his design gives off this aura of that character that's not really suppose to call attention to himself and is dangerous as hell if you forget he's on the map, and if you have one who knows what he's doing man..
I was stalking the top hallways on the middle of the winston map and my chat box told me I had the whole team trying to find me but not get too close. Eventually they had to move the payload so they jist said screw it, I dropped down behind them and high nooned them, lol.
I teally love this character he's a nice contrast to Tracer. It makes me sad that people have their ban torches on him, when I see people whining about junk rat mine bear trap combos, but have yet to see people complaining about Mccree in my 350 matches, just mei, bastion, the ocassional junk rat torb etc.

Well, the post did ask for my opinion. That said...
Lucio's average pick rate is not significantly different from McCree's (compare them to the next most common pick), and he gets most of it from being picked excessively on King of the Hill maps. McCree suffers on King of the Hill, but he dominates both offense and defense on capture and payload maps. Lucio can be confidently said to be dominant in KotH, but McCree is pretty clearly the best hero in the game if people are picking him more than 100% of the time in every situation other than King of the Hill.

Mariachi is the best one by miles. All of Reaper's are pretty good though.

So I tell a player 5 seconds from the end of the match that he took way too long to pick support. His response? "Then you do it bro lol" And he completely ignores I was the only tank the whole match.
I check and each and every one of them is on my avoid players list. Is the avoid Player's list just to make me feel better or does the game actually check before pairing me up? Because goddamn that match was painful

Agree completely. I'm only really good with about 2-3 characters. Even though a Bastion is kicking our ass, I couldn't really do shit as Genji cause I probably wouldn't even be able to get close to him.
