People who don't return their shopping carts

Shopping carts are kind of t he litmus test for whether a person os capable of self-governing. Returning a shopping cart is an easy, convenient task and one which society recognizes as the correct, appropriate thing to do. There are very few situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to return their cart. Simultaneously, it is also not illegal to abandon your shopping cart. Therefore the shopping cart is an apex example of whether a person will do what is right without being forced to do it.

With that said, to the people that don't return their shopping carts, why are you lazy bones?

Problem solved?

A few weeks ago I got in my car after picking up some items at the store. As I start to back up I hear a loud thumping.

I jump out and walk around my car to see a cart pinned sideways between my car and the actual cart return.

The cart return was two feet away but instead they turned the buggy sideways so it wouldn't roll away.

Now I've got a scratch and 6 scuff marks down my door….

No, you can say it. No need to be polite. Lazy cunts!

I was getting ready to post this guy's videos before even clicking the thread because they're hilarious

People are lazy fucks. Just leave their trolley's right next to their car, or better still, push it into a space until totally still, them leave it...drive off, and it rolls into the road..utter fuckin idiots. I'd run them over if it were even semi legal.

Only thing I really hate in Mexico. As a German, it was horrendous how everyone is just leaving them on the parking lot. But you get used to everything …

I do 2-3 small food shops a week, so I rarely use a cart. I use a basket which you can return after the checkout. :messenger_bicep::messenger_sunglasses:

Of course it's a Publix lol. I worked for Publix and can say from that side, nobody cared. A Lot of times the kids liked to get outside to collect them.

I always return my cart because it's never that big a deal but as long as people don't create hazards it's not something that bothers me and when you have a young child it can be super convenient to find a cart in the wild when you park.

Collecting carts in the rain does suck though.

If everyone returned their carts the downs kid would be out of a job.

If you don't put back the things you use it shows you are an arrogant and self important person. You think people are beneath you.

Are there any videos of the cart narc guy getting his ass beat? I'm all for returning carts, but that fool is annoying as fuck.

When I go to Aldi I try to pawn my cart off on someone in the parking lot. Usually some mom takes it so she can keep the quarter.

No, but he did have a gun pulled on him once.

He is insanely witty and bright (was an engineer IIRC), who appeared on Doctor Phil once where Dr. Phil tried (and failed) to dunk on him for an hour and the entire time the cart narc just kept out-IQ'ing Phillip.

The faster you realize he is just trolling people over something silly - the faster he is not annoying, and more funny. Dude has balls of STEEL btw.

I witnessed an old man pushing his cart towards the entry, decided he didn't care and gave up right at the door, leaving his cart in the middle of the entryway for every other person to deal with. It really is a perfect litmus test, people who don't return their carts are happy to create work for others and never care about the consequences of their selfish actions. It's right up there with confidently striding in through the exit door and causing a traffic jam, or walking through the main entrance then slowing to a complete stop in the middle of the main aisle.

Talking about creating work for others (their customers, not employees), that's exactly what retailers are doing.
- bagging becomes the customer's responsibility.
- then checking out
- then nagging about bags
Have any savings been passed on to the customer? Meanwhile, they make it clear that they don't trust the customer much at all.

I don't really care if someone returns a cart to the designated spots or not, as long as they leave it where it won't block an entrance, or run into a person or vehicle.

BTW, those coin lock things were devised to discourage people from taking carts off the property.

What grinds my gears are those selfish assholes that have a full cart of stuff and don't offer to let you go ahead when they see you only got one or two things. One time I went in to a store to pick up some milk. I get to the checkout an here's this pair of mammoths with 2 fuckin carts full of geegaws an trinkets. Now anyone with any decency would've offered to let me go ahead, but of course them 2 beasts pretended they hadn't noticed me. So I stand there and watch them unload their shit onto the conveyor. That takes em a good 10 minutes. Eventually they get round to paying for it. Then the mother one goes through the inevitable ritual of the purse where she has to search through her giant bag of many pockets for another 10 minutes.

Anyway, by now it's been over 20 minutes of this shit. Then comes the kicker. Her card gets rejected. It's kid starts bellowing and making some weird, frantic cow sounds. At first I was pissed. Having to stand there for that shit for so long, but now I'm just watching these fuckin animals and grinning at them, totally entertained by their antics. The shop girl asks if they have another card, or cash. Of course not. The behemoth's pawing over her baubles in complete panic, and the other bigfoot's still making it's distress calls. At this point I calmly stepped over to the shop girl and asked her what the bill was. She said 70 bucks or something. I said can you put this milk on it and charge everything to my card? The brutes were totally silent, staring at me as I picked up my milk and walked past. Not a word of thanks or gratitude of course. Good evening ladies, I nodded and walked out.

Funny thing, I went to the grocery store the other day and the cart corrals were jam packed without a single cart in the store. Not only this, but I used to be a cart grabber back in my teens. I never gave two shits where I got the cart from, self-absorbed entitled fucks..

Nah that's nothing.
What annoys the fuck out of me is when people take chilled food out of the chiller, change their mind and then just dump it on a shelf.
Which obviously means the store has to claim for it and chuck it.
Also generally how messy people are in stores with no respect, and sorry to say but women are the worst.
I've literally seen a shop assistant tidy a self and make it look presentable and then a person just fuck that shit up in seconds.

Nah, worked as a janitor at Toys R Us as a side job for over a decade, yes women's restroom could get nasty, but men's restroom was far more often left a mess. Worst women would do usually was steal the TP, which whatever we always had a ton of backups, but men would throw TP all over the floor, write on the walls, smear the mirror, and eventually just smashed the TP holders and soap dispensers so they wouldn't work.

Also it was a dude who nearly killed a little boy when he started screaming about not getting a discount on this bike he was buying and proceeded to throw the entire bike over the cashiers' heads (no seriously, this was a strong throw) and in the direction of the shopping carts by the store entrance and came within a foot of hitting this boy. Luckily one of the employees chased him as the guy ran for his car and got his license plate, and we did hear later the police did get him. What a fucking asshole.

I was just talking in general, not extremes.
that is some fucked up shit though.

Yep, fucking hate it when people act like they aint responsible for their shit. Just return the damn cart, use your turn signals, and say thank you, it's not that hard, really.

Na the worst are the people too lazy to walk 20 feet from the parking lot and park on the curb. This is why super powers don't exist because I would pick up those cars and toss them into the sun.

The worst I've seen are people who just point the cart in the right direction then give it a hard shove and hope it goes up to the building. Couple months ago I saw a guy shove a cart about 75' across two lanes of traffic and it wound up hitting someone's parked motorcycle just hard enough that it fell over.

The worst are the assholes who instead of putting the cart back, put them on the grass islands in the parking lot.

My general belief is that the people who can't take the five seconds to return a cart, are also the same kind of people who don't flush after taking a shit.

Absolute scum.
