Fetishing muscular manly men in skintight hosery
So apparently Bams invited Colbert to his birthday party but not Larry Wilmore.

Hmm....

The saddest thing about Dole is that he'd been running for president for like forever and by the time he gets the nomination it's in the worst possible conditions imaginable to run against an incumbent.

Which is probably why he got the nomination that time around.

Priebus: Fox showing Trump’s ‘worst’ polls

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus accused Fox News of only showing the “worst” polls for Donald Trump in a segment on Friday.

When Fox anchor Melissa Francis noted Priebus’s prediction that Trump would catch Hillary Clinton at the polls by around Labor Day, Priebus pushed back.

He questioned why the network's graphic used numbers from a head-to-head matchup between Trump (R) and Clinton (D), which showed the GOP nominee down by 6, instead of the four-way race with Green Party nominee Jill Stein and Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson, which was closer.
“Wait a second, the Fox News poll shows he was down by 3 in a four-way race,” Priebus said.

“You want to choose the worst that's available. The Fox News poll showed him down by 3, Reuters showed it even, L.A. Times had him 2 points up.”

Priebus went on to argue that polls have been trending in Trump's favor recently.

“He's either down by a couple, or even. It's exactly where we thought this thing was going,” Priebus said.

“I don't think anyone can deny the polls are narrowing, and I think the momentum is on his side.”

What a time to be alive.

Good reason not to be capitalist then.

I mean I'm not sold any anything but empathetic pragmatism.

I like private control (or more accurately decentralized)that respond to market forces with government providing corrections and mitigation of asymmetric information

Clinton's FBI interview: Saturday of Fourth of July weekend.
FBI notes released: Friday of Labor Day weekend.

Nothing about the actual report, just optics.

maybe the answer isn't capitalism or socialism.

maybe it's a mixture of both.

*gets bombarded with reasons why I'm wrong from both sides.

"drip drip drip" is a media phrase i hope ends with this election.

Socialism doesn't mean "a state-run economy". Socialism is just an economic system where industries are run by their workers, instead of being controlled privately.

Imagine, for a moment, if you tested economic ideas and saw which programs reduced poverty and increased growth and which ended up bad. And then, imagine this, you followed the programs that turned out be good.

bombarded? This is the standard approach most of the world has accepted.

Libertarians and Communists make up 1.5% of the general voting public in the United States, but they are the loudest people on the internet.

Note: Libertarians are triggered by the words "climate change" and "global warming" whereas Communists dislike the words "Holodomor" and "Venezuela."

I think the efficacy of either depends mostly on the beliefs of the people living inside the political-economy.

So it's not which works better or even which is more moral. But, given the context of the majority ideology, which would be accepted?

Not exactly. Somewhere like Norway isn't socialist at all, because Norwegian workers depend on capitalist employers to put food on the table.

Social democracies improve worker conditions through regulation, but keep the control of the economy in the hands of the elite.

Someone explain something to me

Did this guy do it on his own accord? Is that his "oh shit" moment?

@TheFix
This is crazy. 3 weeks after NYT publish Clinton email server story, there was a big wipe of her emails conducted

Also, Powell comes out looking really, really bad in these notes.

if Matt's analysis was correct, why has she spent the last year blundering through every attempt to explain her actions
Because accusing a former SoS of telling you to skirt the law is a smart play.....

I've had it, officially, with "give a gud answer" on the emails.

She has. Repeatedly. She said she shouldn't have used a private server. If she had it to do over again, she wouldn't have done it. She thought it would be easier. It wasn't. There is no further answer that is needed. Nothing but her flogging herself in the middle of the street will satisfy some people.

West Virginia started so late on the "wait, we're registered as Democrats, but we hate the Democratic Party now" thing that the Confederacy started on in 1964 that their local Dems are still winning elections.

The South actively rejecting most Democrat policies while continuing to vote for Democrats decades afterward is kind of fascinating.

I think you once made the point in this thread that the difference between liberals and the left, is that liberals would be content with an elite still existing if said elite was representative of the diversity of the country, while the left, you included, will not abide any elite.

I agree that that is probably the distinction, though I feel you may be missing the point. If the elite are a microcosm of their larger society, doesn't that mean, by definition, that everyone has an equal chance of elevating themselves to that elite, and everyone in that elite has an equal chance of falling from that position? Isn't that fair? Why is it necessary to rid society of an elite entirely, rather than create equality of opportunity?

So, far, the list of real Clinton scandals has been:

Cattle Futures
Bill Clinton is a creep
Sniper Fire

... But somehow this has made everyone think Hillary is the most untrustworthy person in the world :(

You'd think it would take more than two things in 25 years to be viewed as so untrustworthy.

Looking at that Latino poll. Trump is so fucked. Like, so incredibly 100% fucked.

In 2012, Romney won the Cuban vote 52/48. This poll has Hillary winning Cuban voters 52/40. Like, that's not good. (And, yes, I know exit polls vs pre election polling).

Also, people that voted GOP before this election prefer Hillary 53/37.

Like, if these numbers are accurate, Florida is essentially a lost cause, unless they pay to move a few hundred thousand white people from Alabama into Pensacola.

So with Florida gone, Trump needs all the swing states, right?
