I can proudly declare that I voted Queen in 2008 and 2016. Of course, that will probably mean my death when I declare that to the roving Orange Bands that enforce Trump's rule.

That's weird. I wonder what the underlying factor is?

Does that make it negative again?

You know what is is more interesting now?
Elizabeth Warren, she must have known something about Sanders to stay the hell out of the primary process.

Everyone who has worked with him in congress, has stayed away from him.

About that

It was a protest vote -____-;

I did like him at the time (Georgia primary), but never thought he was gonna win

I mean I get why 2008 stung so much. She'd been a part of the Democratic party for a long time, and this new kid on the block comes out of nowhere and surges into first place

That's gotta hurt.
I have a feeling this is more media narrative than anything. i.e. Politicians have to go into stuff knowing there is a good chance they're going to lose. They're grown ups. And even during the campaign she had literally months to accept it. I don't think you can go into this if you don't have pretty thick skin.

Losing to the first black president especially isn't something I think you lose sleep over. Then getting to serve in his cabinate ain't bad either.

But "Hillary feels entitled" or "Hillary, like, sooo upset that she's definitely not the coolest" definitely plays well to the inner Gilmore Girl in all of us.

Yeah, but we should have taken more note of Warren, her national message of income inequality was before Sanders.

This reminds me that for most of 2012, I was planning to vote Jill Stein in the general election. It was a combination of things...I was sort of disappointed in Obama's first term (I was 20 in 2008 and I definitely remember thinking at the time like "omg awesome! Everything is going to be perfect from now on!" before reality sets in) but I also just thought it would be fun to vote 3rd party. And I figured Obama was a lock for re-election.

Then everyone freaked out after that first debate and I did end up voting for O in the end. But like, looking back, my thinking at the time was kinda cringey. Especially with how annoying Stein is being this year.
I'm really glad I couldn't vote in 2008 (I was 17).

Because I probably would have voted against Franken.

I bought into a lot of the rhetoric about him being crazy or whatever, as well as the Tribune's endorsement of Coleman.

Probably would have voted for Erik fucking Paulsen too.

I think I'm going to refer to Sanders as Bernie 2016, Inc. ("The Campaign") from this point forwards

haha thanks eBay Huckster

You start pushing these stories into the media from behind the scenes for the next few weeks to sow some doubt in the Sanders supporters that aren't insane, then nuke him from orbit after California.

speaking of the media going to town, did this get posted?

http://www.mediaite.com/online/bern...rs-misled-public-and-exploited-their-meeting/

After putting pressure on the Bernie Sanders campaign to agree to meet with them, a coalition of HIV/AIDS activists now say that the independent Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate is “misleading the public” about the content of that meeting, and “exploiting” their group for short-term political gain, even implying an endorsement by the group that they did not make.

Those charges are contained in a scathing open letter to the Sanders campaign signed by 19 members of the coalition, in which the group says Sanders pimped their meeting in a press release that made it sound like the group endorses a piece of legislation that Sanders supports:

Yaassss!

We are the pure ones.

Bow down before us!

Worst part of 2008 was that my dad passed away 5 days before he got to vote for Queen. :(

Not going to comment at all about the new low for Sanders huh? I figured you to be one of the more level headed Sanders supporters.

Instead you post a link to a Fox News segment. Interesting choice.

I thought Retromelon was a Republican given his apparently non-sarcastic support of Bobby Jindal and Rand Paul.

Trump is saying that he potentially can put 15 traditionally strong democratic states into play for the republicans now. I kinda feel like laughing right now because he is not really organized in any of those states the democrats currently hold. And yet he is going to have to fight to keep multiple republican states in the fall.

I can sorta see Paul especially for those who put non-interventionism first, but Jindal?

Here's some good news anyway:

Asian-Americans are shifting toward the Democratic Party in record numbers, according to a new poll conducted by a consortium of Asian-American organizations — AAPI Data, Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote and Asian Americans Advancing Justice.

In fact, since 2012, there's been a 12 point increase in the percent of Asian-Americans who identify as Democrat — from 35 percent to 47 percent.

Asian-Americans overwhelmingly supported Barack Obama in 2012 — 73 percent to 26 percent — so these latest poll numbers suggest a crystallization of party ID among people who perhaps already lean Democrat.

But, the partisan divides are growing and particularly obvious among young Asians, who now view the Democratic party far more favorably than the Republican party (77 percent compared to 12 percent).
Trump and the rest of the GOP pushing nearly every single minority into the Democratic camp, possibly permanently. When we talk about anti-immigrant rhetoric we mostly talk about the effect it has on Hispanics, but it's hurting them deeply with Asians too.

So pretty much what happened to the conservatives in the 2015 Canadian election even though I don;t think that will be permanent in that case. They are pretty much driving minorities to the democrats now.

Yeah, I thought they might move too. It's why on the 538 calc I tend to move them a few points to the dem side at the very least.

Oh, posted in the other thread, but it goes along with the same narrative we have been talking about and it was brought up earlier:

http://www.mediaite.com/online/bern...rs-misled-public-and-exploited-their-meeting/

"Sanders campaign responded to the activists’ letter by accusing them of being stooges for pharmaceutical companies."

How can you be so awesome Barney Frank?
And how can you so easily prove him right and so succinctly in 24 hours.

One other blurb, I don't know what people have against Uncharted 3, I liked the story the most of the 3.
Now onto 4!

I think the prevailing view on Bernie is gonna begin to shift very quickly. He's looking like a poor loser with questionable morals at this point and no one likes that.

First of all, it doesnt appear to me why someone should be sarcastic supporting Rand Paul. You all will be lionizing him 30 years from now when the nsa has their dicks 50 feet up our collective asses
Secondly, I am a registered republican if anyone really cares, so there is nothing to be confused about.

If neogaf is any indication, no doubt.
I've never seen a thread so hostile and disappointed towards him.

Unfortunately, he does not need them to do damage, only the cult members that are left.

I can totally see your support of Paul if you place the Patriot Act and Non-interventionism as top priorities. I certainly won't fault you on that.

Everybody has different priorities so it's absolutely cool! I totally understand that particular concern (NSA).

I saw this earlier, but the campaign hadn't yet responded by accusing the activists of being under the sway of Big Pharma. It's really starting to get disgusting.

Wait, that's actually a real response from the Sanders campaign?!? Holy fuck, I thought that was a joke about what they would say. Jesus, who the fuck that was a good idea?

Very clever :p

This is the only one I've got.

That doesn't explain Bobby Jindal... Well I guess the registered Republican bit does.

And I don't think anybody will care about Rand Paul in 30 years regardless of what happens with regard to privacy.

That is where your wrong my Hillary loving friend. After the nsa is an entrenched arm of the national government through decades of evil republican and Democrat administrations too cowardly or impotent to put a stop to it or implement meaningful limitations, slurping up power and turning the country into an Orwell novel, people in the future will look back with tears in their eyes at events like senator paul's filibuster while whispering "we should have listened, why didn't we listen"
As for bobby..if I don't post about him, no one else will. It is my duty

I hope that the prospect of convention drama spurs party leaders to close ranks behind Hillary closely. Get Obama, Biden, Dem Senators, etc to make a show of unity early on.

"I do want to point out, that Finland has perhaps the most heavy metal bands in the world, per capita," he said, "and also ranks high on good governance. I don't know if there's any correlation there."

How did I miss this?!?

God-king president.

I have to imagine Obama endorses the moment she locks the pledged delegates, instead of waiting.
