We’ve reached that stage of the campaign. The back-to-school commercials are on the air, and the “unskewing” of polls has begun — the quadrennial exercise in which partisans simply adjust the polls to get results more to their liking, usually with a thin sheen of math-y words to make it all sound like rigorous analysis instead of magical thinking.
No, Nate wasn't referring to himself

Ryan basically dismissed the comments because he hasn't heard it, only about it, and that it sounded like a joke but hope Trump clears it up, lol.

Anyway, doesn't anyone find it weird that the sitting Speaker is having a press conference after a dominating primary win in August?

When has this ever happened before?

So a white nationalist (Jason Lewis) won the #MN02 primary.
In 2009, Lewis said "real Americans" think Hurricane Katrina victims were "a bunch of whiners." In 2012, Lewis said the "white population" has been "committing political suicide" and "committing cultural suicide" by not reproducing at higher levels. Last year, Lewis said "the median income for blacks in America would make them rich in most African nations, not most—all."

Monday: Trump's delivery of economic policy set the tone and shows he's turned the corner.
Tuesday: Trump implies Hillary will be assassinated.

That's some amazing self-sabotage.

Clinton camp statement on Orlando killer's father attending her rally: "Hillary Clinton disagrees with his views and disavows his support"

Hopefully that will that be enough for the media to move past this nothingburger of a story. It hasn't been a huge deal, especially with Trump's awfulness today, but CNN at least has brought it up for short segments repeatedly. And some journalists have been pretty focused on it, even to the point of ridiculous false equivalencies:

In last 24 hours Clinton doesn't disavow terrorist father and Taliban sympathizer; Trump suggests 2nd amendment remedy to election #2016

Media desperate to distract from Clinton's anti-2A stance. I said pro-2A citizens must organize and get out vote to save our Constitution!

YES TRUMP. TALK MORE!

No, you didn't, Don.

Just convinced two millennials out of voting for Jill Stein and feel so proud. They were devastated to hear that she thought "many people are saying there's something going on with the wifi." Thanks for that one, Dr. Stein.

I was listening to NPR today and someone proceeded to criticize Trump like they were a pro-Clinton supporter, then U-turned and said vote for Jill Stein.

Did anyone seen the new NBC polls that just came out today? Alot of good news for Clinton fans especially in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

I just dont think Ryan wanted to deal with Trump's shit tonight. He was probably relieved after beating back a crazy fucker in his district. I'm betting he goes home, takes a glass of cognac, injects heroin into his veins and gets spaced out for the next 12 hours.

I think we might see a similar thing happen in congressional primary races that happened in the in the Republican primary. The more right-wing primary voters vote in a crazy person, but will have a hard time winning in the general election, especially during the president election. Gerrymandering made that problem much worse in House primary races.

The Republican party is mighty fucked up. The days of it being decent and for the good of the common man ala Lincoln and Eisenhower have been long gone for many decades.
