There's keeping things grounded and there's being just sorta shitty.
Everyone going NIXONIAN WATERGATE, SKY IS FALLING is sort of tiring after it's shouted out forever. The fact that regularly scheduled hearings are getting sidelined and general procedure is getting thrown out the window is more troubling personally.
The GOP has all its ducks in a row, I'm more worried at the prospect of the investigation getting derailed regardless of the conclusion it comes to. Their hand is strong enough to pick the new FBI director, pick who gets interviewed in future investigations and a bunch of other ancillary decisions surrounding the investigation as far as funding and such.

Yeah, I agree everyone should be calling it out, which we've been doing, for months. It accomplishes nothing. The only realistic hope for justice is that the investigation continues.....or Congress does something. If neither of those things happen, then the only hope is to vote these traitorous fuckers out in 2018 so we can get an actual Congressional investigation going with Democratic control. Most people don't want to wait that long, so they (understandably) need to have the hope that something, ANYTHING will happen sooner. You can call that delusional if you want I guess.

Oliver North's testimony as all the completely unprepared Senators can't even understand what happened let alone what the criminal part was so they just kinda stammer around repeating Iran and Sandinistas and Contras. He's sitting there outright telling them he destroyed records and they're asking for strange things nobody should care about like exact amounts of money and people's names and random statements.
It's like that hearing where Hank Johnson asks the admiral all these elaborate questions about the size of the island of Guam...then says he's concerned Guam could tip over and capsize. And the Admiral just goes "we don't expect that."
No wonder North immediately ran for Senate and lost by only three points. People probably thought he was some kind of military genius comparatively.
