They could make one huge giga bill that does bothIf the reconciliation dead line passes and they fuck up healthcare again, does that mean they can't use reconciliation for tax overhaul/budget stuff?

The weirdest part is that Aid has really good home nurse, hospice and nursing home care, while Care, the insurance for old people, doesn't.Do I literally know nothing?
If you need an argument to throw in vs a conservative/libertarian type to convince em, there you go.@tylercowen
It's not the main issue, but Graham-Cassidy also would lower mobility across state lines.
If they can't get healthcare done on it's own, there is no way they will be able to attach it to tax reform. Itll make it 1000000 times more difficultThey could make one huge giga bill that does both

I'd rather see a Trump n word tape.
So is the 30th deadline only for healthcare or would the budget stuff get pushed to 2018? Like, if their window is closing, it should be closing for more than just healthcare, no?
A continuing resolution was passed and signed that extended the budget deadline to December. That was the bi-partisan agreement Chuck and Nancy worked out with Trump.
.
He called Kim Jong Un Rocketman.
I am 100% certain he was in the Whitehouse last night and either heard or thought up Rocketman, said to his hangers on, Thats pretty good huh? ROCKETMAN! Im gonna tweet it! And they said, yes, thats hilarious sir. You are a wag.
Then he decided this was also a good thing to say. To the UN.
That's funny, I have this TV.
Been seeing a lot of people angry at Pelosi for some reason on Twitter lately. Is this something real or are they just mad she's doing her job again?

Some DACA protestors crashed a presser of hers angry that she's making deals with Trump instead of pushing comprehensive immigration reform.
Which I get! I think it will help to see if we actually get DACA legalized in time.

Be curious to see how well that works out in practice if it does reach the House.

"Making deals with Trump (literally to benefit those protesters) instead of [doing thing she has absolutely no power to do]"
Making deals with Trump...to legalize DACA though...
Their position is that they don't want to trade increased enforcement and oppression of other undocumented immigrants for protecting Dreamers.
Since they are Dreamers, this seems like a pretty brave position for them to take.
A deal with Trump to protect the dreamers will probably come with extra immigration enforcement that will deport their parents and family members"Making deals with Trump (literally to benefit those protesters) instead of [doing thing she has absolutely no power to do]"
The house would pass a dead pigeon covered in vomit if it had "repeals Obamacare" on it.
I certainly hope no one is going to kill pigeon then vomit on him as part of Obamacare repeal, stay safe buddyThe house would pass a dead pigeon covered in vomit if it had "repeals Obamacare" on it.

Why are they not enthusiastic I don't understand
The first Ryan bill that started this whole thing failed miserably. So no, that's not true. Not to mention the bill that did finally passed, only did so by the skin of its teeth and with the perspective that the Senate would "fix it".
Right. And I'm sympathetic to those concerns. On the other hand, Pelosi and Schumer could push an immigration reform bill that is DOA on the Hill, and consequently no deal is made and the Dreamers AND their parents and family members all get deported.
I don't think we even know what the 'border security' trade offs are yet (right?), but assuming it is deploying more ICE agents into the field, isn't it preferable to at least save Dreamers than save nobody?
They have only gotten increasingly desperate since then, though. In no small part because they've taken months of shit from the White House and their base over their failures to repeal and replace ACA.

Medicaid work requirement?
Aren't most people on Medicaid elderly, disabled or children?
No argument on that front, but I never discount the Freedom Caucus and their complete allergy to actually govern or pass legislation. Ryan could absolutely be on the money in what he is saying but in what way has he proven that he has any control whatsoever over his party in the House? He's proven to be absolutely ineffectual.
I could be wrong and the House may be in lock step and in line. We'll see.
Reuters: Trump using campaign, RNC funds to pay legal bills from Russia probe
Im sure his supporters are happy to be contributing to a billionaires legal defense fund.
Well, shit.Be curious to see how well that works out in practice if it does reach the House.

Too bad? Any comprehensive bill would include non wall increased border security.
Exactly. Its supremely shitty to criticize protesters for putting themselves at risk for what is a morally blameless position on behalf of a marginalized group.
A - Do we actually know this? Probably, but we elect our leaders to fucking try to get the most they can. (Maybe that is this).
B- There's no issue with them protesting and they should continue to do so.
Incrementalism in regards to minority group rights is worth protestingThey're criticizing incrementalism, which is counter-productive.
tbh if Pence is (comically) lobbying Manchin that means they probably don't have 50 votes.
But we'll see.
They're criticizing incrementalism, which is counter-productive.

If it's any consolation, I read this as "Bernie and the Jebs."Why did I initially read this as Bernie and the Jets? Goddammit...
Increased border security is a minority group right issue?

It potentially can be given what that entails.Increased border security is a minority group right issue?
Don't be coy - it's an issue that directly impacts certain marginalized groups in this country more than others.
By the way - most progressives working in immigration and for amnesty will agree with those demands. I don't see the issue - maybe those outcomes are unrealistic, but how does it help for us to tell them to shut up?
Latinos protesting deal making with Trump that could potentially negatively impact their lives with whatever is compromised in said deal: Not dumb.
FEDERALISM
LMAO!
...and if you're not? Your health insurance coverage is "don't get sick or hurt".
