Predicting anything to do with Trump lol. His end could come when we least expect.

This is the only correct answer.

It's time for NAME. THAT. POLITICAN! For today's challenge, which peace loving commie said that we should withdraw from South Korea? Here's the quote:

Why should the United States, 60 years after the end of the Korean War, have 28,000 guys on the DMZ when South Korea has got an economy 40 size of the north and they've got twice the population? The point is, if the United States weren't on the DMZ, this guy wouldn't be building intercontinental missiles and nuclear warheads to attack us. I'll tell you what the effect of this is going to be. Both Korea right now and Japan are probably looking very hard at their own nuclear deterrence, and they ought to.

can't be too surprised when quasi-nativist-fascist "America First" favors isolationist policy

Charles Lindbergh was an isolationist, right?

Yes, and a Nazi sympathizer. Wouldn't surprise me at all to learn he was a collaborator beyond that.

Ok apparently it's not Hillary's site, but she endorsed it on Twitter. I can't really even tell what the point of it is supposed to be?

Looks like a type of fact checking?

Everyone is throwing shit at the wall hoping something sticks when it comes to dealing with propaganda, misinformation and outright lies.

It looks like a way to source quotes and statements. If you click on a headline it shows you a quote, the context it came from, what people are saying about it, and stuff like that.

Like this is an entire page that explains how gerrymandering is fucking Democrats. With sources and good analysis and everything.

The site looks like a one-stop shop for debunking bullshit.

Optimistic we can get something done within six months. There hasn’t even been a formal announcement and a significant number of Republicans are open to codifying DACA.

Shit.

The six-month window gives us some time. We need to pressure this cowardly Republican Congress into codifying the program into law. Support Coffman's discharge petition, call representatives and senators, contact Pelosi and Schumer's offices, try to get it attached to a must-pass bill - something.

I've almost started crying because I suspect this decision will affect some of my students, innocent kids who've lived here their entire lives and love this country more than this Nazi and his cronies ever could. The thought of their being used as a political football, a means to appease a virulently racist base, makes me so angry I can barely speak.

We'll probably need 66 votes in the Senate and a 2/3rds majority in the House, unless you can see Trump signing that shit into law.

He's fucking a ton of innocent people over for no reason, it's goddamned disgusting. It makes me want to cry.

Not only that but he's losing billions of dollars in tax money that they pay. Joy Ann Reid had the stats the other day on her show and these are highly contributing members of our society. It's extremely tough to get approved for daca. There is no other reason to do this other than fucking over people that aren't white.

Shut down the government until the bill is law. No funding for anything until the DACA Act is law.

Could still be repealed but that's electoral suicide. Plus it'll be delayed at least.

A war with his own party as much as with the Dems.

Paul Ryan, other GOP congressional leaders urge Trump not to terminate DACA

I mean, admittedly, they want to keep it because it's political suicide at this stage. And, in fact, that 6 month time-bomb means it'll end, what March 2018? The campaign ads write themselves.

Small consolation, mind.

Democrats are against it. Congressional Republicans are against it. Business leaders are against it. Is it worth ruining ~1 million lives to appease the 25% of America that would love him regardless?

To Trump, yes, because these Brexit-loving racist people aren't rational actors.

Shutting down government while the country is recovering from at least one or possibly two hurricanes just hurts more people.

Seems like a pretty legit cause to do it for.

Of course, it would require a few Republicans joining in, so your whole defense of it is kinda pointless anyways.

I want Pelosi to be the evil San Francisco Cruella de Vil the right always accuses her of being. Play as dirty as possible. Threaten to withhold votes. Let the government shut down while Republicans shoulder the blame. Crack the whip and make sure every Democrat votes for a discharge petition and/or DACA law, no matter who introduces it. Don't worry about the ~~~OPTICS~~~; don't worry about alienating the "moderates" or Tim Ryan's white working class unicorn constituents; don't give a shit what Fox News or talk radio says.

If saving a million innocent, hardworking Americans - people who've lived and worked here for as long as they can remember - won't get Democrats to the polls next year, nothing ever will, so just go for fucking broke.

And I'd been wavering on whether to remain here and teach or go to Washington and intern with the Democrats next year. I think I've finally made my decision.

I have read a few Politico articles that getting rid of the DACA is going to cause the Democrats to pretty much hold their feet to the ground and demand Congress to pass legislation to make DACA law and make Democrats likely not willing to hold negotiations with the budget and such.

Republicans also wants to make a deal with the DACA law and provided down payment to the wall, however they said by getting rid of DACA it make that deal much harder.

Trump is just making things harder for himself and the Republicans.

But now is not the time to blow up the program, GOP leadership sources in Congress caution. Doing so, they worry, could antagonize Democrats in a month in which the GOP desperately needs their help to raise the debt ceiling and keep the government open.

Senior Republicans have also spoken privately of a potential bipartisan accord later in the year that would codify DACA legislatively, in return for a down payment on Trump's border wall with Mexico. While many agree it's unlikely and perhaps wishful thinking, they worry Trump ending the program would make such a deal impossible.

While many agree it's unlikely and perhaps wishful thinking, they worry Trump ending the program would make such a deal impossible.
Lujan Grisham plans to ask Ryan to hold a vote on a bipartisan bill that would continue the DACA program and offer a path to citizenship for young undocumented immigrants. Flake, along with Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), have co-sponsored a companion bill in the upper chamber.

”If we could get the Dream Act on the floor for a vote, it would pass," Lujan Grisham told Democrats during the conference call Friday afternoon.

One area where Democrats are adamant they won't deal: Any attempt by Republicans to continue DACA in exchange for funding Trump's prized border wall. While Republicans are hoping that might change, most Democrats say it's a nonstarter.

”I've said that I won't participate in blackmail and allow President Trump to hold these DACA recipients hostage," New York Rep. Joe Crowley, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, told members on the Friday call.

I think Coffman's proposal will pass. Will Trump veto it is the question? Going off that article, Sessions convinced him based on the argument that only congress has the authority to create immigration law. So this should pass his sniff test, but then again this is Trump.

I still hope he finally loses next year, but if his petition succeeds, I will call his office and thank him.

Hell, if I go to DC next fall, I'll try to find him myself.

Trump would sink my wife's employer overnight. He's going to miss the days where he can take credit for Obama's work.
Cutting trade with China would sink many of Trump's own businesses. Just like everything he's done, he never thinks things through to their logical end.
