Steve Bannon looks evil as phuck on 60 minutes. He looks like a straight up Sith Lord in that interview.

Now I know why he didn't do any interviews while he worked on the campaign & in the Trump WH. Can't believe that guy was on the National Security Council at one point.

All charter schools, by virtue of sucking money out of public schools and undermining workers rights, are bad. At best, they're a lifeline for a limited number of minority parents who have been sold the story by charter advocates and people who just plain hate public schools that there is no way to fix public schools, so the only thing you can do is be entirely selfish and get your kid a ticket out as the rest of the public schools become even worse as the best students are grabbed by the charters.

But hey, you should be happy. You've got a nice ally to continue to sell the idea that public schools are unfixable wrecks that must be turned over to "non-profits" ran by billionaires or religious folk.

Well, strictly speaking, religious schools came 1st.

If you want the story to start later, it still begins with decades of district school atrophy. It's sad! A variety of schools is great! Yet, the people in charge in most big urban districts don't seem to think change is necessary, and there has been little to know experimentation in the rural districts to fix the problems the last 20 years have brought.

Like, seriously, Illinois just passed an okay school choice bill. http://blogs.edweek.org/edweek/char...thousands_of_students_to_private_schools.html If YOU were in Chicago, what plan, exactly, would you execute for Chicago Public Schools?

In Milwaukee, it's Lutheran schools educating African Americans and Catholic schools educating Hispanic kids. If districts didn't want their enrollment to fall, they should do a better job. We don't get to pick; it's random. It's fair. We even get 2,000 fewer dollars than public schools do PER child. We still have 250 kids each year who cannot get in because we are full and we double the district on test scores each year.

I've never heard him speak before, but when I heard a snippit of the interview on Fox News on the radio, I kind of expected him not to sound so... Squeaky, billigerant chihuahua-ish....

Why the change of heart for Trump all of the sudden? Maybe it's just fake change but wth?

Something with Russian investigation or what?

Schumer and Pelosi talked him into a deal because he's easy to manipulate, and now that deal got positive press coverage, which is Trump's number one priority in life. So he's going back for another hit. He only ever gets negative press from stuff he does for McConnell and Ryan.

Donald J. Trump‏ @realDonaldTrump

Republicans, sorry, but I've been hearing about Repeal & Replace for 7 years, didn't happen! Even worse, the Senate Filibuster Rule will....

...never allow the Republicans to pass even great legislation. 8 Dems control - will rarely get 60 (vs. 51) votes. It is a Repub Death Wish!

He's shitting all over Paul and Mitch, this is amazing.

Okay, I am from Ohio and still live in Ohio...

This.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kasich-signs-onto-schwarzeneggers-gerrymandering-reform/

Kasich is signing onto Schwarzeneggers Gerrymandering reform plan.

is odd and yet expected in my opinion now.

why is it odd?

Kasich was a Far right winger, only moderate in appearance while his policies have been far right, voter suppression, attempted to destroy all unions and pass other hard right republican policies.

Then Boehner abruptly stepped down as house speaker, and rumors and theories ran wild.

Then Trump ran for president and won the nomination.

Kaisch stood against Trump.

Then Trump offered the "presidency" to Kaisch in all forms but the position it self.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/20/politics/john-kasich-donald-trump-vice-president/index.html

and Kaisch said no.

Portmen has floated between the Republicans nationally and the Republicans in Ohio which seems to have a growing rift between them.

Now the rumored Unity platform, Kaisch/Hinckleburg
http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/347950-kasich-dem-governor-mull-unity-ticket-in-2020-report

they however shoot it down, both Hinckleburg and Kaisch said no. in reality they would say no until late 2018- early 2019 when they announce a campaign.

Now this signing of the anti partisan gerrymandering forms.

in addition to Kasich is backing DACA, or atleast a new form of it.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kasich-calls-on-reasonable-republicans-and-democrats-to-solve-daca/

I'm from Ohio I know Kaisch is much like the rest, but He's been against Trump, and now it appears as though he is moving towards moderate grounds. I firmly believe he will run for president again, and I see a growing rift between Ohio Republicans and National republicans.

Save Mandell, he must not be allowed beyond treasury secretary, he is the parties new Paul Ryan.

very odd, and Kaisch has not stopped doing interviews, I think he is attempting Mindshare with these national interviews.

I’m seeing a lot of talk on MAGA-Twitter about CNN supposedly pulling its investigstive team off Russia. Any idea where this came from?

The same people that swore up and down they had explosive material on Hilary Clinton and that she'd be in jail before the election? The same people that swore a child sex ring existed in the basement of a pizza place? The same people that swear up and down that President Obama was born in Kenya?

These people literally make shit up and then push it as fact. Who gives a fuck what they're talking about.

tbh I wasn't expecting a post this good, though you did leave out that they're also a great tool for fighting racial integration

fuck all charters

I'm hoping that behind the scenes; sane republicans are realizing that Tea Party friendly districting is not good for the country long term

How does the political spectrum work in the US?
I always thought is common ground that national socialist are the farthest right you can get on the political spectrum, but especially recently I encountered many people (mostly Americans) who think national socialists are left wing.

This is almost some form of revisionist history to me. Nazis are literally the definition of the right end of the spectrum and now people want to claim that Nazis were left wing? Even Hitler would be offended by so much stupidity.
Wtf is going on...

It's Republicans trying to confuse people.

They know that Nazis were right wing and they know that old Democrats' racism doesn't reflect that much on the modern Dem party. But they hope you don't know.

The word socialism breaks minds.

Probably from this NYT article: At CNN, Retracted Story Leaves an Elite Reporting Team Bruised

If they're implying CNN will stop investigating Russia entirely, they're wrong, since that responsibility just moved to a different team, but I'm not sure why everyone was so quick to label this story fake news...

What's funny is that I've seen a Trump supporter make the implied connection that changing the filibuster rule would have changed the outcome of the skinny repeal. He didn't even look at the vote counts.

The logic is it's easier to "bully" 2 or 3 R senators into submission than 9 or 10 Democrats as well.
