I don't think I would mind Lady Gaga using a backing track if it weren't so that she could do that janky-ass choreo.

GET A NEW CHOREOGRAPHER

As long as she continues to sing great live, I don't think it matters all that much.

Yes! she's awesome.
Have you seen her new video for Zero?
I saw her play at SXSW and she's honestly one of the best performers I've seen live, can't wait for her to release an album.

I've been revisiting the entirety of God(ga)'s discography.

Favorite tracks per album:

The Fame:

Just Dance
LoveGame
Paparazzi
Poker Face
Eh Eh
Starstruck
Paper Gangsta
Summerboy

The Fame Monster (still probably my overall favorite):

Bad Romance
Monster
Speechless
Dance in the Dark
Telephone
So Happy I Could Die

Born This Way:

Title track
Judas
Scheisse
Hair
You and I
Bad Kids
Marry the Night and Edge of Glory are kinda weird cuz I like them now but I've hated them before.

And I've stated my ARTPOP faves before. TFM and ARTPOP are probably close to tied for my favorite overall efforts from her.

I need to go through the remixes still.

Ugh me too! I heard Zero but never seen the video! Thanks for this. There was a couple Zero Remixes I heard on SoundCloud which was pretty dope too. I agree, she is amazing. I just love her. I discovered her on

Goldroom - Fifteen (Music Video) (ft. Chela)

And since this day, I have been in love with her music. I can't wait for her album.

Edit: The Video is awesome lol! She just dope and Zero is just amazing. I just can't...

It's amazing. The lyrics, the melody, the production. Everything's on point. Perfect pop song.

You can tell why the Gaga stans hate it though. Straightforward lyrics, a good hook, production that doesn't sound like someone mashed keys randomly on a synth, and chart success. Kryptonite to the post-TFM Gaga stanbase.

All that is subjective. ever never ever never ever never is not a good hook to me, nor are the lyrics in general, I mean..

I used to think that we were forever ever
And I used to say, "Never say never..."
Uggg... so he calls me up and he's like, "I still love you,"
And I'm like... "I just... I mean this is exhausting, you know, like,
We are never getting back together. Like, ever"

Do you remember, we were sitting there by the water?
You put your arm around me for the first time.
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter.
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine.

We get that you hate Gaga and all that, but using WANEGBT as a counterpoint is just not a good look sis.

It got pretty universal acclaim, so I'm not exactly alone in thinking it's a bit of a bop. Grammy Nominations, even. If it hadn't been for Call Me Maybe serving up the same breezy summer bop realness in the same year it would have been the pop song of 2012.

I don't know why Gaga stans like to drag songs for just being pop songs. They drag Katy for basically the same reason. But then whenever someone calls Gaga on her pretentious rubbish they turn around and insist 'oh it's just pop music it's supposed to be fun'. Shrug.

WANEGBT is a solid pop song (although I'm not that fond of the spoken word part), so are 22 and IKYWT. Max Martin always delivers when it comes to catchy pop songs.

Btw, I wonder how Taylor's upcoming album will sound like. Max Martin, Shellback, Dianne Warren and Ryan Tedder are confirmed, is there anyone else?

I'm just upset that pop music has come to drivel like WANEGBT and whatever Rihanna's latest feature is. And apparently people actually like it too.

Let me continue to sulk in the early 2000s when pop actually tried

It's sad coming for vapid pop when you stain for Lady Nintendo though.

The curtains have burned, and Nintendo's music has been exposed as the same manufactured drivel as Rihanus and Perra. In more capable hands, of course, but in the same orbit of vapidity.

No niece, I don't stan Lady Nintendo in her ARTPOP U era. I'm pretty sure I have made that clear, and she deserves the criticism she gets.

Let me recall you stanned Lady Nintendo in her Born This Wii era as well, when I also, stanned.

Bad Kids

I hardly ever see people say they like this song. Underappreciated tbh.

Agreed. The epitome of cheesy.

Tbh Taylor is one of few pop girls that can pull off cheesy. ie. You Belong With Me, Teardrops on My Guitar, Love Story, etc.

J. Lo has finally got some fierce competition.

Lol.

Damn, are Shakira and J. Lo the only Latin pop girls (cross-overs) still around? What happened to Paulina Rubio?

I am screaming at the Angelfire page. :ahh:

Just begging to be Photoshopped.

Plus those 56 kbit/s song previews... It's just priceless. Wait, let me pull my Ayna gif, I think it's appropriate for this ocassion.

And the fact that she's been trying for 10 years already...

I believe that there are as much, if not more good/great pop tunes right now compared to ten years ago. It's just that those kind of tunes come from the artists who are more indie, i.e. the ones who aren't featured on the radio stations.

Here's a random selection from last year:

St. Lucia - Elevate
The Good Natured - 5-HT
Betty Who - High Society
Josef Salvat - Every Night
Say Lou Lou - Better In The Dark
Quadron - Hey Love
Annie - Tube Stops And Lonely Hearts
Sam Smith - Safe With Me

I could go on and on, but you get what I'm trying to say. There's so much good, even amazing pop music today, it's just that you have to find it elsewhere, mostly via blogs. You won't hear most of these songs on radio, sadly.

Oh I actually agree, indie pop is amazing lately and better then ever. But I'm more referring to the stuff on the radio.

Sis, have you been digging through my Last.fm? Not you stealing half my entire 2013 music swag though?

Lol joking, but I agree. These and some others were basically 2013 for me. I like this indie pop sound more than all the big girls, a lot, these days. I survived last year with them and 2014 is already getting started.

What is you Last.fm Btw so we can be fraanss!! I'm pretty sure it super

Apparently this is the "original" ARTPOP cover (NSFW)

About a year ago , my “little sister” Germanotta asked me for a picture of mine to be used for the cover of her outcoming album. I worked hard on a certain idea, but the draft that came out was not appreciated by LG and everything ended there.
Meanwhile the draft was sent to Saatchi&Saatchi to participate in a specific contest; again, no success for it. But that picture is still available on the S&S site.
Six months ago I re-considered that draft and carried out some small changes that, in my opinion, would improve it so to deserve the final transfer on canvas.
And I did that.

When ready, I showed the final picture to Gaga, also suggesting the title for her new album: “Lady Gaga pop orgasm”. Unfortunately, everything was rejected again because it was considered “too trashy, too transgressive, too old-style pop, too little like her”…..

A few weeks later, I came to see Gaga new album: the cover is by Jeff Koons, (the well-known porn-star picker and famous contemporary artist) and it really has a lot of my original work, although duly censored…. Dear miss Germanotta, how bourgeois you became! No courage to introduce yourself with my cover!
And it would have cost you far far less! However I don’t have it in for you, but for Jeff, who will be sued for damages by my lawyer….
