I was kinda hoping it would get a 90 and a goty nomination. Now we'll have to sit through another Sony iterative sequel (death Stranding 2) getting a nomination when so many other deserving teams worldwide that have never recieved one, and clearly worked much harder than Kojima, won't (this, KCD2 etc).
6 games get a chance right?

Clair 33
DK Bananaza
Hollow Knight Silksong
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Blue Prince
Split Fiction

Don't think DS2 will even be on the list unless Blue Prince is kicked off. And even then that slot could end up still being ninja gaiden 4, battlefield , or even Mario Kart World.

Should be Cronos.

Split Fiction has no business being there imho, its slot should definitely be taken by DS2.

On top of that I would add Silent Hill f and maybe Cronos and you end up with a pretty solid list

I didn't played the original so it was (kinda) new for me so it hit me like a sledgehammer and i can't stress enough how much the new voice acting made everything worse(better).

This scene would be much duller without the new digital and voice acting

That's stillness ending, i have yet to replay to see all the endings, the actor did an amazing job!

Anyone who plays this for 48 hour earlier please tell me if the game is worth it so I blow my money on it instead of $60 on Monster Hunter DLC packs lol

Is Push Square a wide audience publication? By that I mean are they read by casual audiences?

I'm trying to see if this is the reason why they are calling hitstop as a framerate issue, because I can see casual audiences thinking the same thing. Casual audiences would call framerate issues 'lag'.

It entirely depends on your monitor. There are many monitors out there with "fake" HDR or none at all.
I didn't understand much about HDR when I bought my monitor, and I ended up getting one of those ones with fake HDR. It literally looks worse with HDR on than off. Hate how they can call this shit HDR.

Yeah, the monitor market is full of crap and deceptive marketing. I stick to Alienware just because they tend to be solid if not the absolute best. I bought their most recent 1440p OLED ultrawide and the HDR does look great on it.

Yeah, unfortunately this is quite common with both monitors and TVs.

You really aren't going to get good HDR without OLED or Mini LED and a lot of the monitors and TVs you see that advertise HDR don't even have FALD and are edge lit to make things worse.

I've watched two or three reviews for this so far and they oddly sound more negative than their scores/final thoughts reflect. Think I'll wait for a sale for this one.

Lip syncing isn't great, and the combat looks bad. Watching a playthrough and it just doesn't look that great. Chronos, hell is us and the new dying light all look like better buys.

'Combat looks bad"

People said the same thing with the combat in SH2 Remake and it ended up being great.

Watching a game in YouTube is not the same as playing the game for yourself. I wish more people would understand this.

You forgot hades 2 which will obviously get nominated. I'm not sure if KCD2 will get nominated or these other 3 you mention. And I'm also not sure about blue prince.

What does it even mean to say "combat looks bad"? It seems like everyone on the internet says this about every game. No regard for why the combat was designed the way it was, or how you don't want someone to be a superhuman ninja cyborg warrior soldier in a survival horror game. Just "combat sucks, turn it off".

This is Silent Hill, not Ninja Gaiden. I mean what the fuck.

It's not these deep. It's simply seeing footage and going "Does this look fun? Does this look like something I want have my hands on and do myself?"

It's why a game like Ninja Gaiden immediately grabs people who like gameplay first focused video games. It's front and center and immediately makes the player want to do the things shown on screen.

Some games just look bad to play. Doesn't mean they are, but it doesn't translate well via video.

There are LOT of games are not fun to watch but absolutely fun to play, for example Tactics/SRPGs games. These games are absolutely fun to to play but I cant imagine watching someone play these type of games.

Played for about 20 minutes, just after first monster encounter. Seems OK, nothing too groundbreaking yet.

Looks quite nice, music is good, performance is grand outside of the odd traversal stutter. Getting about 90+ with max settings and DLSS quality. Cutscenes are 16:9 and locked to 30 fps, but hoping a mod will be released soon like Silent Hill 2.

I do already have 2 bugs, 1 which means I can't play it in my monitors ultrawide resolution. 1 bug is random mirroring / flickering of the screen i.e I walk past a house and then the screen flickers showing the house and my character again for a second.
2nd and bit of a busted big is after the cutscene with the first enemy, the camera zooms close to character and it's awful. Can't interact with most things too. You also can't change resolution in game to try and fix it, but exiting to the title screen and re loading also does not work. A full game reboot works until the cutscene happens again. (This also happened at the beginning of Clair Obscure)

I've come to the same conclusion with my monitor. I kept trying to tweak the settings but it always looks better with it off. It's just not got a good implementation of HDR.
