Holy shit, that was crazy. And the promo for next week too, holy shit.

Katey Sagal killed it, if this episode doesn't get SOA some Emmy noms than nothing will.

Tara the surgeon losing her hand, terrible thing to happen to her character more so than death. I can see Gemma biting the bullet in the finale instead of Clay and Tara filling into her role. Don't know how the series would continue for 3? more seasons with Clay already put away.

Goddamn...I was straight angry this entire episode.

If Clay makes it out alive this season I will rage hard.

also, lol at the title for next week
Call of Duty

No way Clay dies. Judging by the preview
Clay is gonna have to kill Unser too
I'm still standing by my prediction he kills Gema.

Maggie Siff deserves an Emmy or a Golden Globe or what the fuck ever for that gut-wrenching hospital scene with Jax. You could really feel her despair and hopelessness.

I don't see how they can realistically keep Clay on the show past this season. He's in full-on villain mode at this point: killing Piney, ruining Tara's hand/career, beating the shit out of Gemma, etc...

The entire season has been building towards his downfall.

But how can the show continue without him? Jax getting revenge on Clay is a final season/final episode scenario. Isn't this show going 7 seasons?

He's setting himself up for the big fat kill...

I think I'm going to give Kurt Sutter the ability to tell the story he wants to tell. Not even gunna try and rationalize it right now. If Clay dies (which he deserves to), I believe Sutter has a purpose for it.

I'm gonna throw a wild card out there.
Clay is gonna get arrested before he can get killed.
Jax and company will feel cheated, Clay will have a short lived sense of relief since he will be killed in prison by the blind SoA member.

I think that the next few seasons of this show will be about Jax molding the club into what his father wanted it to be.

Yup. Anyone thinking Clay will survive this season is out of their mind.

So. Fucking. Intense.

Between this, Walking Dead and Breaking Bad, TV is just wow.

Where are some more amazing shows to follow on...

Damn, this episode... Clay, like Gemma said, is un-savable at this point. The dude is definately dead by the end of this season. I had thought at the beginning of the season that by season end Jax would be forced into the pres spot, but I didn't think it would be in this way at all.

Incredible episode, but I hope Sutter really follows through with everything he's setting up. This really seems like the end times for this show, just end it next season (this season would've been preferable I guess).

It seems like too much to put all these things in motion (Jax leaving, Clay's death, etc etc) and then drag it all out for another few years.

Something crazy has to happen this season, because if at the end of it, Clay has obviously put a hit on Tara, killed Piney, and beat the hell out of Gemma, and everything goes back to business as usual for the sake of the club, this show will have hit Nip/Tuck levels of shark jumping.

Clay must die, there is no other way about it. But how do they get out of it?

I think I see this happening.

Juice accepted the deal with the DA guy right? So the Sons are Immune and it's in writing. Jax will find out about Clay, they will send Clay by himself to the Cartel meet with the IRA and maybe two Cartel guys to keep a low profile so the DA can take down Clay.

Clay will end up getting executed Jimmie-O style.

worst kidnappers ever

I know, shit was hilarious when Jax grabbed Tara from the van and the guy had a gun pointed directly at them where he easily could have got a few shots off to kill them and he just looked at them. I could see Clay end up in prison, especially if Juice follows through with his plan to help the FBI. Remember the US attorney saying that only the members at the meet would have to go to prison, but the club would still live on? That way he could still be on the show, but not be part of the club. I think if Clay left the show it would hurt it too much. He is such an important part of it. I'm still sticking with my prediction that he kills Gema and Unser to protect his ass and the club thinks its the Lobos.

How much power does Assistant U.S. Attorney have?

Not sure, but he seemed to get that contract for Juice pretty fast. I think he is full of shit personally and he will still try to take down the entire club and it is fake paperwork. I guess we have to see if he is a man of word though.

Something about the kidnapping just seemed off to me, and I'm really starting to wonder if it was purposeful. Still, first lets take things on face value and assume that the cartel wouldn't have wanted to kill Jax, as that would have really soured things with the Sons. They know Jax is the VP of the club and essentially the son of the club's president, so they probably told their goons to specifically NOT hurt Jax or the kids.

Still, the scene that kind of bugged me was right after Tara escaped, they showed the kidnappers taking their masks off and someone (probably the driver) asking "you guys ok?". Now, it was a pretty quick scene, but I've watched it a couple times and the two guys who took their masks off didn't really look Mexican.

Romeo did mention that the hitmen that Clay was using would be basically independent contractors, which would explain why they might not employ all Mexicans, but that still doesn't explain why they'd bother speaking Spanish during the kidnapping attempt in the first place.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that once Romeo found out that Jax was going to be there, he intentionally wanted to set things up to look like Lobos retaliation. He could have apparently called the hit off, but lied to Clay and told him that there was no way to contact the guys. That, and he seemed rather pleased when Clay told him that the Sons thought it was Lobos behind the attempt.

Well, they're federal prosecutors, so I guess they have a bit of power.

With the shit he has done so far, I really can't see him being a man of his word.

Yeah, the Juice storyline is for sure the worst part of this season.

Looking forward to watching the new episode when I get home (why am I in this thread?)

I just feel that the Juice story line is so contrived.

It also sort of feels like a retread of Stahl, except Juice is more forced into the situation. I almost feel like any kind of conclusion to the storyline will also feel like a retread unless it's handled well. I don't know if another "We tricked the fed" ending will work. Even if they use it to pin it all on Clay it will feel off to me. So I'm hoping the season stays unpredictable.

My first thought that it wasn't the Cartel attempting to kidnap Tara after they took off the masks in the van. I don't know if it was the Irish or someone else running interference for some kind of a reason I can't think of. I'm with you though in thinking some other motive is involved in the botched assassination of Tara.

The whole thing seemed a little off to me, so I just went back and rewatched it. They're yelling in Spanish when it's going down. Once they drive off, the guys pull their masks off and someone says "Shit! You guys ok?" in English and none of the guys they show look vaguely Hispanic.

So what's the deal here? A lot of the particulars regarding the "hit" on Tara don't add up: Why didn't they call it off given that they clearly had time? Why did they attempt a kidnapping instead of just an assassination since that's what they were paid to do? Why are there white guys in the van performing the kidnapping? I suppose you could explain away a number of these things individually, but add it all together and there seems to be something else going on.

For the briefest moment, when I saw the guys under the masks weren't really Hispanic looking I thought maybe it was Unser sending some guys to snatch Tara up before the Cartel got to her. Remember when Unser was busy in Piney's cabin trying to stage it to look like a Lobos hit? When Gemma called him and said she needed him, she was obviously already suspicious of a hit on Tara by Clay.

I thought Unser had managed to round up some guys to make it look like she was kidnapped by Los Lobos and trying to keep Tara safe while not exposing themselves. I agree that the entire thing seemed a little off.

There isn't really any logical way he could have gotten some guys to go grab her that fast with a van and guns though. Plus, they showed the guy that ordered the hit in the park watching them. It is kind of off though. I'm sure there will be some of explanation behind it. 90 minute episode next week and a 14th episode so obviously some big stuff must go down.

You have a point. I thought the guy watching Tara and Jax was going to do the hit himself, but when I saw that van screeching towards Tara I thought wtf.

I'm feeling for Opie also in this show. He still doesn't know his father's dead, and Jax confessed to him that he wants out of the club after he talked Opie into staying. He's probably going to go crazy next week.

Awesome episode. I thought this season was being pretty amazing, but after last night ep now I think it's the best one so far.

Oh, and fuck Clay.

I can't really see Kurt Sutter writing off his wife from the show. I'd bet that Gemma has immunity until the final season if only for that reason.

i really hate that lady who plays the medical director (or whatever she is) but it was nice to see Gemma called out on being a terrible person

just caught up with last nights episode, holy hell, that was fucking fantastic! the last minute gave me serious chills as Gemma said he's gonna die by the hand of the son.

Isn't Gema married to the director of the show? I can't see her being killed off. Dude won't get any pussy. Haha!!

Super Crazy Theory.. only because the Otto/Crusoe story line seems odd to me.

Clay killed Otto's old lady. Finale: Clay goes to prison Otto kills him.

Do we know for a fact that Crusoe did not kill Luanne?
