Sony confirms: more first party games to PC

Death Stranding isn't first party, and it's been announced since day one that it's coming to PC.

It would be considered an exclusive because if it wasn't coming for PC it would be considered an exclusive by most Sony gamers. Also, Bloodborne isn't first party company either. Any game that NOT coming to the competition (i.e. Xbox) should be considered an exclusive. Demon Souls as far as you are concerned is an exclusive --- until it's announced it's coming for PC and then it's not an exclusive? Nah...

Haven't played on PC in a long time. But good on Sony for this, because people need to play Ghost of Tsushima on anything other than a Playstation. Give the PC players a chance to experience this incredible game.

LOL do you really think that PS fans are in tears that the PC master race get's a glimpse of the games of the past?
Ofc not. If Sony wants to make a few more $ this is the way to go. It's still a question if it's worth the trouble though. We'll see.

If any of you PC elite's out there are thinking that their upcomming 1st party games are crossing over though... fat chance.
Your hardware wouldn't cope. Eat that!

That's most likely for games like Destruction Allstars, probably some free to play games. Or refined, old PS4 games just like HZD. PC isn't ready for PS5-oriented games.

Yeah you are right, PC isnt ready for PS5 games, its already ready for PS6 games :messenger_tears_of_joy:

No more like keeping GOW at console equivalent settings, expanding the FOV if available so I can see more, 70% of 4K(3200 x 1800) which is the image quality that checkerboard 4K reaches, and using all the rest of my GPU's overhead to push as many frames as possible. Using a 4K 120hz monitor.

You know there is no graphics cards with HDMI 2.1 to begin with? You need to read more. DP 1.4 is inferior to HDMI 2.1 as well. Those enhancement will come on PS5 as well, but enjoy your PC version anyway.

I can easily see Bloodborne, Demon's Souls coming to PC, but those aren't even first party. I can see TLOU1, GOW (after announcing the sequel) coming to PC as well, TLOU2 in a later age like 3-4 years from now.

Why can't they co-exist? Social media metrics at least show that there is growing interest in Playstation at least. I think people will always like something that is more user friendly than a PC as an option. It's called differentiation. These aren't the same consumers.

Perhaps but this year is pretty crazy. There is a lot going on with Tech companies this year. We don't even have to go back to work until maybe July 2021. Schools are spending money for learn-from-home. I'm not sure a old normal will be in the cards 6yrs from now. It may very well be that people can just go to the store and buy a Dell laptop and hook it up in a living room, or desk and start playing games through the HDMI for $1k and perform better and faster than a console on top of allowing a kid to learn from school remotely. Who knows? We can't always assume status quo. We do know that consoles are getting expensive. And if they cross that $1k barrier, it would be more benefical to have a computer that can do the same stuff and offer more usage.

Just a thought.

Bo Hazem I'm using this adapter by Club 3D to achieve 4K 120HZ 10bit color HDR on my LG C9 with a 2080ti as I type this reply on said display right now:

Dude, I would LOVE to have this on PC! I love Japan and samurai!

Old = PS4 going forward. I can see many PS4 exclusives coming to PC eventually, it's actually smart.
Yeah, I could see this too. Would be fine by me too. So many great PS4 titles that would be stunning on PC. Bloodborne, Spiderman, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Day's Gone. All games I've played and enjoyed on PS4 but couldn't help be irked by home much better they'd be with stronger hardware.

Would give Sony a nice financial bump and not step on PS5's toes and would probably even encourage more sales volume.

I know about those, but it's still compressed. HDMI 2.1 is 48Gbps vs 32.4Gbps on DP 1.4. It's good for the meanwhile anyway. If you prefer PC gaming, then good for you.

Plus it'll be good to pay them for their work on PS5 boost mode for free upgrades on PS5, that's some hard work there that needs some money to back.

No. I'm telling you that TLOU2 is not going to be years away. Try months.

You can make a distinction between 1st party and 3rd party but that really only becomes a handful of games. I'm not sure what you are trying to prove here.

Anyone who thought otherwise was in denial. Both Sony and Microsoft are moving to a platform model. They both have same destination but different paths to get there dependent on their respective strengths/weaknesses. Suspect that Sony will be partnering with EGS for the PC storefront.

There will be a time when both Xbox/Sony games will launch on PC, streaming, and their respective Console via Game Pass/PS Now day 1.

I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm discussing. And TLOU2 on PC few months from now is also possible.

This is a good move. There are plenty of games I'd like to play at 60fps with better visuals. I hope more games get Vulkan treatment instead of DX12.

So it's nice Sony is letting us know ahead of time that the ps-5 will be lacking in vlaue before we splurge $400-$600 on it.

Look at this wittle tough guy. There is nothing the ps5 can do that pcs cant. Stop drinking the cool aid child.

Not a single pc person came in here and talked shit yet you had to try and start something because you're fragile ego or micro penis demands it.

What a clown you are kid.
Let's just say that we can revisit this thread in a year, ok? Hope you don't loose your confidance;-)

Imagine bringing the gravity rush series to pc, they might breathe new life into the franchise and it may finally find it's audience.

No cross-play with filthy M/KB players I hope.

If they port some games down the line, it means they make more money to continue making better games. More value for you.
No, not at all. This isn't an argument.

Because Sony studios aren't starving for funding. Games will probably get more lazy further down the line.

How do you jump to $1k? The most these consoles will be is $600. If they are more, I would be highly shocked. The consoles aren't designed to be sold at a profit and both Microsoft and Sony have a great relationship with AMD so they are getting millions of chips at just a little bit above actual cost. The 2080TI probably costs somewhere between $250-400 to manufacture, and then there are additional costs for marketing, supply chain, etc., but Nvidia is raking in a ridiculous margin. As long as video cards continue to be sold at such margins, there will always be a place for consoles, especially compared to laptops that are limited to very low power requirements.

Also, bringing over all of their catalogue is impossible. Too much work, so they'll probably target specific games. Those that make the most sense for pc imho.

No driveclub lmao.

It's almost impossible to be wrong with such an open ended statement because you've put absolutely no time frame on this. If in the future streaming works amazingly well, then there would be no need for consoles in the form that they are now. That's a hypothetical that could happen 20 or 30 years from now for all we know.

They need to port the PS4 exclusives for PC, it's a very good move business wise.

I played HZD and now I want to play the sequel as soon as it comes out on ps5.

People are overlooking this part:
in order to promote further growth in our profitability

You don't achieve that with just "old PS4 games".

They'll be launching PS5 games on PC as well. It might not be day and date at first but the gap between console release and PC release is going to shrink.

Release game on ps4

18 months down the line RE release on PC to build hype

Release sequel on PS5

RE release sequel for PC to build hype

Release sequel on ps6

That's how you make money, with little effort. Everybody wins

There goes my plan on getting PS5

Sony fucked it up since they remove their headquarter from Japan to United States

PC + Nintendo it is for me then

That RTX 3090 sounds like a more and more compelling deal for me this holiday knowing its already outperfom PS5

Thanks sony for making my buying decision easier

Not saying they won't. But your explanation does not at all correlate with that excerpt. Like, at all.
