Still haven't been in an instance that killed it? I was lucky enough to try it when Dr. Woe was killing it a few times, so I got to be there for two kills.

Here's another weird thing that happened to me while I was in spacedock at Starbase 1. I was chilling outside the starbase just minding my own business, there are a bunch of starships to starboard of my ship... this 31+ admiral ship starts going nuts activating all sorts of ship functions, one of them was extending its shields around my ship, and they initiated a self-destruct option... I saw it keel sideways and explode, it damaged my ship... the fucking thing actually caused my computer to crash!
Not the first time I've seen something like that... except I think I saw a starfleet starship fire a weapon at me (again while at spacedock), but I was in mid-warp and its beam followed me even when I had taken off into the wild space yonder. This game is buggy still.

I finally upgraded my weaponry again... I am packing 3 dual heavy plasma cannons in the forward position and 2 tactical plasma boosters and plasma injector in Engineering, I'm packing so much power... I feel like the damn Defiant already... I was cutting through ship shields like a hot knife on a hot summer day through butter through a lot of my battles. Fun times, and I haven't even gotten remotely the most powerful weapons in the game yet.

Ok well finally made it to Commander tonight... been putting in long hours and forcing myself to endure the missions and doing some PvPs to build experience quicker.
I have a new ship called the U.S.S. Dominion ... basically all my ships and characters will honor things from Deep Space Nine as my character is basically a Jem'Hadar. Once again I purchased a Heavy Escort vessel, it's basked on an Akira design using an Oslo saucer section... the final product somehow looks more like a klingon ship than a Federation ship... personally I think the Commander level escort ships look ugly as sin and nearly bought a Heavy Cruiser. Ultimately I love to go pew pew pew and I need a Heavy Escort to do that. I am motivated probably now to get my ass to Captain soon so I can get rid of this ugly looking ship... I don't want my ship looking like a Klingon ship... I will finally get a Defiant class ship as captain and be done with this, fuck the Admiral level, the ship I want is in the captain's rank.

Agreed. I hit Admiral a few days ago and was sad to have to give up my Intrepid. The Luna class isn't bad, but it's still not my favorite.
Ultimately, I'd like to fly around in an Intrepid, Nebula, or Galaxy class. Being able to refit my Intrepid would be awesome.

I'm not familiar with it but can you put say Mk3 and above tech into a tier 1 ship? Some ships are intrinsically weaker than others. Like the Nova class might be your favourite and you can buff the heck out of it with new tech but it'd still be weird if they tweaked the stats so it was on par with a Galaxy class just because an Admiral player didn't want to give it up.

Many players are advocating that the refit only upgrade the bridge officer stations so that you can use higher level abilities in the ship. To me, that seems like a good balance and makes a lot of sense.
I am doing a mission called "Hunting the Hunters", and this is probably the toughest ground mission I've done that involves combat...
I have to kill packs and packs of Hirogen soldiers, and the worse part is I get to the 2nd force field perimeter and my AWAY team have been taken away from me and I have to fight 4 Hirogen by myself that fire at me from a distance or surround me and pummel me... I can barely kill 1 or 2 before I get killed. Is there some sort of strategy to this I am missing other than not sucking or do I need better gear?

Yes, there is a strategy. Cancel the mission, close the game, open the game again, get the mission again, do it and pray to avoid any kind of bug that takes away your away team. I hadn't that problem (i found that mission very easy), but I had a lot of problems in the second part of the mission because i didn't went through a certain trigger, and the big bad guy didn't appear even if the dialog says it. It's a good mission (and very TOS), but very buggy.
Well... it happened to me again. The Hirogen took away my AWAY team every single time the 2nd field I get to... I beam up and continue the mission, does it every single time and I cannot kill more than 1 Hirogen before I die and another guy beams in to take his place to kick my ass all over the map. I had to give up and move to another mission... FML.
I just read on the official STO forum about the missing AWAY team during the Hirogen Worth mission someone else posted having the same problem as me... this could be a known bug out there.

I have been having all sorts of unrelated computer problems lately that I have been stuck doing scans and diagnostics all day. Apparently since the newest patch was released 3 days ago all sorts of bugs are appearing, because I was reading about it on the STO forums all day at work. I noticed my problem didn't happen till the newest patch so they could very well be related. Times like these I am glad I am not a life-er.

Surely the Lifers don't care really as they're in it for the long-haul and know it will get fixed eventually? I'd imagine it's the people with rolling subscriptions that are more upset and put out as they have a finite time to play and bugs eat into that?
