I feel like I see Operatives do alright in PvP, but maybe it's just the high end ones and I don't notice. They can dish out a lot of damage, and stealth classes seem to do well. I'm a Sniper though, so I can't really speak from first hand experience.Dont have that. Operative.
i keep hearing how IA is so powerful but i have never, ever, ever felt powerful at anything with my IA. i get killed in world pvp 1v1 against players 3-6 levels lower than me within seconds. In fact, now that i think of it.. i have never managed to kill anyone 1v1 ever, even with getting the drop on them.I feel like I see Operatives do alright in PvP, but maybe it's just the high end ones and I don't notice. ill consider healing spec once Bioware fixes the UI to reflect health properly.
Speaking of agents: Debating on re-rolling my level 20 sniper and going operative instead. I just feel like I'm too focused as Sniper. I can't do anything other than sit back and shoot. I have zero other ability to do anything and it is getting a bit boring. Can higher level operatives/snipers give me some insight? Hopefully it'll help me make up my mind.
"I always thought the Hutts were revolting" ahhh my Agent has a good sense of humour alright.
Hit level 30 on my Operative, managed to discover my first purple schematics from reverse engineering some blue gloves I made and I still need to finish the story quest on Nar, which is now grey. Maybe I shouldn't have gone off and followed the bonus quest side.
I honestly wanted to not like this game. But fuck it, I'm having a damn blast.
I just hit 40 on my Sniper. It's mostly sitting back and shooting, but you can really hit hard with that and dump out a lot of damage. When you get crits rolling things get pretty absurd. On hard fights I still have to get in close and disrupt though with stuns, knockback, and interrupts. I'm pretty happy with the class, and while it's tempting to reroll Operative because of how strong they seem right now I think the Sniper is going to fare better in groups in the long run. I already do more damage than pretty much anyone else when I group up by a good margin.Speaking of agents: Debating on re-rolling my level 20 sniper and going operative instead. Why would you uninstall? The install is fucking HUGE. lol
As an operative, you're Solid Snake.
Just imagine you can complete missions without even killing anyone.
Need to take what's in that crate? Sleep dart the Elite level mob and take it, then stealth.
I play a healer, which is incredible. I can sneak past every mob and solo a champion level enemy. Really feels like a secret agent.
Uh, and I still didn't put my retail version code in... Guess I'll wait until some sort of spring break or something.
How long does getting to lv 50 actually take?

I've repeatedly ganked republic players a few levels higher than me with my sniper. So fun being able to dish out massive damage!i keep hearing how IA is so powerful but i have never, ever, ever felt powerful at anything with my IA. i get killed in world pvp 1v1 against players 3-6 levels lower than me within seconds. I'm enjoying my sniper quite a bit. While it's primarily about shooting at range at single targets, you get a decent AoE with Suppression Fire for normal mobs (Kaliyo tanking helps with that). But it's all about how to maximize your damage output, chaining attacks properly so that as your target dies you can continue on the next one without missing a beat, and all while still trying to have decent energy going. You can easily dish out several thousand points of damage within a couple of seconds if all your crits hit.Speaking of agents: Debating on re-rolling my level 20 sniper and going operative instead. Lol, Huttball can be such a clusterfuck sometimes...
First night I've spent using my mouse for movement. Boy is it weird, and oh jeez is it difficult to get used to.But even though I'm absolutely awful with it, I can already tell it's going to be for the best after a couple weeks of training my muscle memory.

Just tried it against a normal mob, didn't seem to work. Couldn't find an elite nearby to test on though.Coding oops!

Apparently it's a pretty reliable exploit.
Curse you maintenance!
Took me about 80 hours of /played IIRC.How long does getting to lv 50 actually take?
I guess it depends how much you play and if you're not an Alt-a-holic. A month is about right I think, some people do it in less then 2 weeks.

Seems like something that could get quickly patched though.
Goodluck with PvP.
Perhaps it's not the class, but the player playing the class.
You can see that it can be utilized amazingly well.
(Sorry for the brostep. Can't fucking escape that shit.)

As funny as it is, I would not do this in this game even just to mess around with how ban-happy Bioware/EA have proved when it comes to minor trespasses.
I was in the middle of a gauntlet in a BH mission fighting an elite. I'll probably be dead when I get back on. :\
I finished Voss tonight and got to level 48. I also finally got a hotrigged speeder schematic from slicing. I would drop slicing now, but those lockboxes I find in the wild have a lot of money in them. I think it's worth it just for that.
I saw this dude wearing a custom (orange name) black trench coat called RD-04B Sharpshooter Jacket. Does anyone know if that's on a vendor or a random drop? I tried searching TOR Head and stuff, but didn't see anything. I'd like to get one for Mako.
Was it dark, or white with brown trim? There's a dark coat that I'm pretty certain is a random drop (or a random loot from the blue lockbox rewards). There's a white version that you can get from Maelstrom Prison that looks like this:
It's not that one. It's black. It looks like something a Matrix character would wear.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is the random one then. Think it will only show up as random world loot or out of a blue lockbox in whatever level range it falls under (mid to late 30s maybe). The belt in that pic is from the same world drop orange set.
The first six players or so he killed were lvl 17 and .. uhm 23? Sorry but what a shit vid.
But don't play it, yet.
The JK Sent is way underpowered, and makes a lot of the solo quests a massive chore. Either your "main" companion needs to have a heal, or your char needs more HP. Because as it is, the JK Sent is WAY too squishy.

If you watch it for more than a second, there are 50's in there too.
I never claimed that this was an amazing video(He back pedals FFS), but merely demonstrative of how the class is not gimped - as a few of the people in this thread are inclined to believe about multiple classes.
Obviously Imperial Agent and. . .
Jedi Knight:
It's not the class being under powered or poor design. It's likely you and the way you play it.
I have played a Jedi Knight to 30 on the US Gaf server and never did I feel under powered.
Edit: Sorry Triss, it really looks like I am coming after you. It's not personal, and I just think that perhaps we shouldn't be swaying people from a class they might enjoy just because we aren't very good with it.
