So whats the status on the game guys?

Major patch f'up?

I haven't played since after 3 or so days into retail.. My month isn't even up yet.

Hows the end game and what are people doing at 50 now?

Depends on if you have it set to override in you CP I imagine. Bigger question is... I don't understand what the settings mean...

Low x 2
Med x 4
High x 8?

The settings are Off, Low and High I think?

Low seems to be x1... and high seems to be x2? Since forcing it through nvidiainspector at x4... looks a lot better than in game "high" AA.

The problem is they removed the "gray" effect on the cool down. When the timer bar is at the bottom it looks like the ability is ready, however it has a second or two to go.

that sounds SHIT

The big thing about this patch was the new PVE content. There was nothing new about PVP, other than the Ilum "fix". I wonder how stable the new content is? Nobody seems to be talking about the actual patch stuff.

Confirmed with my Commando; very annoying.
Hopefully they'll implement an ability-by-ability grey eventually.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?

As someone who doesn't give two fucks about PVP the last few pages have been painful. So much whining and hyperbole.

Anyway, some people in my guild ran the new FP and said it was really good. Zombie vibe without being too "zombie". Of course since this is just part 1 you'll have to wait until March to see the conclusion of the story.

I took a screenshot. 100+ Imps camping rez on Warriors of Shadow. Hundreds of new Battlemasters today.

PvP irreparably ruined, lol.

I hit level 28 last night. I have a wife and baby girl so I don't really get to play much. I really really really like the game. I love the stories. I like farting around on Tatooine. The space missions could use some more VoiceOver work. Maybe I'll bore of it but I've enjoyed the hour or to I get to play each day a great deal. I plan on keeping my subscrption going. I don't care what some other idiots are doing to ruin the game for themselves.

Is it common to have freezes? I'm not really a PC guy, but I've never had this issue with other games on my rig. When playing, occasionally the game will freeze for about 15-20 seconds, then my screen blacks out and I get a shot of the loading screen, then everything goes back to normal. Seems to have gotten exponentially worse today so I was curious if it was due to the patch.

Yeah, incredibly stupid design change. I thought for sure I wasn't understanding it right when I first read the patch notes, but alas...

I really didn't think the UI could get worse.

The new catchphrase on the forums is 'tortanic'.

EDIT: Also instead of a valor rollback they should just reset to 0 the valor of anyone who spawncamped today. That would be hilarious.
Why should players be punished for Bioware's mistake?

Love how Bioware are trying to sweep it under the rug.

Eitherway I did the new dungeon on hard mode earlier tonight. Didn't really encounter any glitches. The only difficult part was the bonus boss really. The final boss was especially easy. Both final and optional boss seem to drop columi headpieces, if anyone cared about that.

That's how PR has to work, downplay catastrophic problems like this one so that the playerbase who isn't experiencing it doesn't get wind of the developer's incompetence.

It's funny to me that they delayed this patch by a day presumably because of some seriously fucked up shit inherent to the changes they were making. Should have delayed it by about a month judging by the response to it.

It's more of the fear of spending money on an mmo that might fail. So many of them do these days.

1 - It's not going to fail
2 - Even if it does it's MORE than worth the 60 bucks to buy it. I've put over 110 hours into the game up until level 37 so I've likely still got a least another 50 hours before I hit 50. Granted leveling speed is personal so give or take 50 hours to get to max level still puts you at 100-200 hours of gameplay. That's just with one class. The story elements are really well done and the combat is enjoyable. How many games these days give you kind of value?

If I cared/liked/was into PVP and was assholish enough, I'd have joined the mass-camping of people. Bet it would have felt good too.

This change is hilariously bad, it's basically impossible to tell when an ability with > 1 minute CD is actually ready to use.

You pretty much have to squint at the small buttons on the UI... and hope.

The more I play this game the more it seems like the designers don't actually play their own game rigorously. There are so many small, retarded things that drag down the moment-to-moment gameplay, yet would be ridiculously easy to fix.

I couldn't care less about the Ilum nonsense as far as it affects my (mid-level) character personally, but watching the colossal fuckups and the ensuing meltdowns is pretty fun

Also, unless they take away gear Empire has such a huge advantage in PvE progression and Warzones going forward. Can skip the first two tiers of PvE gear entirely

People don't like the new cooldown animation? It seems more clear to me.
It's better for abilities that are off the GCD (which is presumably why they fixed it). It's worse for abilities with long CDs, because the ability looks ready to use 9-10 seconds before it's actually ready, because at that point the cooldown animation has progressed almost all the way down and is barely visible.

It's not a very intelligent solution to the problem they were trying to fix, there are other ways.

I'm getting fps problems now that didn't exist before. At 20-30 fps I can still play the game but it's incredibly annoying.

Also the ability cooldowns are now terrible and I can't tell when my ability is ready to be used again. Who the heck thought that was a good idea?!

Definitely. A lot of my abilities have longer cooldowns, and the new way of showing it really screws me over. I'll use the skill thinking it's off the CD, but it actually isn't, so I've wasted a button press.

That's my main issue with it. I kept trying to fire-up Mortar Volley 2-3 secs before it was ready... In a hot fight, it makes all the difference. Oh well !

Yeah,as a tank, pressing a button when the ability isn't ready yet is a waste of valuable threat building time.

People clearly don't remember wow launch if they think the servers were remotely stable at the time. Also remember the zul'gurub reputation glitch?

So, uh.... does this medal DO anything? Or is it yet another item designed to clutter up my storage space?

I also want to say that this new cooldown thing is really fucking with my head. The only use I can see is that it lets me know that Riposte is active, but on a cooldown vs. inactive and on a cooldown. Not worth the tradeoff, though.
