oh wow, taken from the thread of that 5000 pound poker idol.com tournament TLO won, haypro was in it too

Nazgul - TLO did not get paid. I have sent an email some week or so ago but havent gotten a reply yet.


Some other guy - As the host of the Poker Idol tournament back in Jan, we have been contacting them to try and speed up the payment process of the prizes. Chris and Nigel, our contacts in the UK from Poker Idol, have both been made redundant and no longer work for the company. There are no other UK staff working for them, and my only contacts left are based in Malta. I will continue to explore all avenues to ensure the prizes are paid.

As hosts to many gaming events, this delay has caused us to change our procedures and any third party companies/sponsors/etc using gamerbase to host tournaments will in future be required to pay the prize money on the day of the event, or transfer the prize fund to us prior to the event.

I will keep in touch with the winners and let them know my progress with Poker Idol.

Cool mappool for MLG. wonder if it is any indication for the additional maps that will be added to the ladder pool (which will include a GSL map). I remember Kennigit on SotG last year mentioning that what he gathered from conversations with SC2 devs at Blizzcon that maps aren't a huge focus for them because they expect the tournaments to figure out stuff themselves to some extent. At the time everyone was still going with the ladder maps, so I think it's a good thing the tournaments are starting to experiment a bit and not feel bound to the ladder pool anymore.

I'm going to make a not so bold prediction and say that the one GSL map to be added to the map pool isn't going to be the only tournament map that's going to be folded back in to the ladder. They probably still need a better way for people to train on non-ladder maps though, beside the random matchmaking they have now for custom games.

That makes the MLG map pool basically the best one of any tournament at the moment. Modified ladder maps + Crossfire + Testbug = yes please.

Great job. Too bad their tournament format is pretty sucky, otherwise they'd have it nailed.

Thinking of coming back to this since Cataclysm no longer entertains me, haven't played since soon after release. I was Zerg back then, but I'm thinking of going Terran this time around because I'd like some wins to boost my confidence a little bit before I try and go back to one of the other races :p

Any dailies/videos/articles I should take a look at before I jump back in? I haven't played since before the first balance patch so I have no idea what's changed since then in terms of strategies, builds, etc.

second, I thought it was Wednesday, and I got really excited until I realized it was in fact Tuesday (I am on spring break, all my days r running together)

Plus korean pros even less incentive to ladder since ladder doesn't have GSL maps.

So its missing all the games that were casted in English from earlier today like, Idra vs Qxc, Tarson vs Qxc and Morrow vs WhiteRa.

Always so satisfying repelling a cheese especially when he prematurely gg's you and then add some bm before leaving. 2v2, PT vs. ZP.

I get 6 pooled but he only attacks my buildings, my friends defends me and I keep mining. He sends more zerglings and gg's. My allies marines kills em all with my hero stalker. The other one attack with an all stalker force but by then I've got a nice set of gateway units so we crush them. They try to attack my backdoor, fail. I own the protoss guy alone and my friend goes from backdoor of the zerg. "noob you attack backdoor noob". YOU DID THE SAME THING BUT FAILED YOU RETARD. Do these people think before they type seriously? :lol
