This is going to be my first Summer Sale. (Finally got involved with Steam a few days ago, best gaming decision I ever made, haven't touched my consoles since)

Is the Summer Sale just discounts or are new games released as well, like how Summer of Arcade works on XBLA? I guess on Steam, it would be Greenlit games.

The Summer Sale is just that: a sale. There's no need for Valve to set aside new releases for a special event as games worth their salt find their audience just fine. Case in point: Rogue Legacy.

4 hours later I think I can honestly say I really like the idea, despite being the very definition of noob.
Now my question is, the bundles for the earlier games seem to offer me a better deal, so do they go on sale during the sales, or are they impervious to them?

They do go on sale, yes. You can use Steamprices or Steam Sales to view a particular item's discount history.

The real question is whether there are still people playing Magic 2012 or 2013 online now that Magic 2014 is released.

I thought it already had one? It's in my steam library already so it must have had one for a while, unless I added it some time after the fact and didn't realise.

I ended up buying the Aliens Marines + Season Pass from GMG, at £12.50 I thought it can not be that bad...

Not played it yet, so I could be in for a rude awakening, but it is so hard to get to the truth, a lot of posts on steam are saying people are still spamming about the release version, which the version now avaliable is patched to hell, and is a lot better!!

Not unless you already owned the game. If not then the key has been used and the game is on your account. The only way to gift a key to someone is to give them the key.

Picked up the Deus Ex: Human Revolution ultimate bundle. Always wanted to play this game, so €7 was too good to pass up. My backlog is growing, slowly and steadily.

A damn shame because Cortex Command is a great game. Sure, it's fucked up that you're 60 seconds away from winning the challenge when a robot with no legs crashes right into your face, but the game makes it so fun to watch and then to do your own crazy shit that it's worth it.

I only went for it in the end as most peoples real negativity were because they paid the full peice etc etc, I am under no illusion the game is not great, but they have seemingly patched the AI (so one person said) and done 3GB worth of texture fixes

Yeah, I'm curious as well. With expectations kept low, I'm wondering if the experience and level of enjoyment might be different than those who purchased at launch.

I think the majority of KOF's pictures in that entry are placeholder, so I wouldn't put too much stock in them just yet. I mean, look at that title icon. That trollish shit.

Achievements I parsed through the Steamworks api match the achievements from the 360 version exactly. You are just looking at the test achievements that are publicly visible.
