Can someone explain what 'operations' are on CS:GO?

Community Maps in Official Ranked servers. Basically. You get better crate/gun drops from the normal (IMO shitty) drop rate, as well. And a coin depending on how you do in "leveling it up."

Competitive/Casual or both? I'm updating right now but do you have to buy into it (if I remember correctly?)

For you.
Again guys:

For you to be VAC banned, you have to actually connect to a VAC-secured server. You will never connect to any servers with SAM.

I think the huntsman cases were for going for 5 at one point.

Damn not bad. Forgot you have to pay to get into these, though I only remember paying a dollar for operation alpha? Oh well, was just planning to get a crate and make a quick few bucks to get something, but I'm not gonna drop 5.99 to join the Operation and get back into playing Counter Strike again, then I'll never clear my backlog :(

I just wanted to say that Astebreed is like the Gundam game I never knew I wanted.

It's crazy because it sounds crazy. Valve are very transparent when it comes to CSGO bans and about how thorough they are when validating VAC bans. If SAM were either directly or indirectly responsible, it would have both already been an issue and obviously addressed much earlier.

Well, that doesn't exclude stuff like Cheat Engine which is mostly used for singleplayer. I can understand the multiplayer people that memory edit and get banned that way. But if someone has Cheat Engine (or SAM) on their system and uses if offline and it isn't on in VAC-enabled servers, why would they ban over that?

Let's give these away together. You have to go to
http://shinyloot.com/redeem
to redeem the code.
You then get a DRM-free download and hopefully they all end up with a Steam key.

Instructions for participants:
I am giving away 3 Steam keys. To enter this giveaway, send a PM to ModBot with any subject line. In the body, copy and paste the entire line below that corresponds to the key you want (if you include more than one game, you will be blocked from entering).

Rules for this Giveaway:
- This is a free for all! You can enter for multiple games on the list below. Send an individual PM for each game you'd like to win.
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (Myshkin, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- This giveaway is a LIGHTNING raffle. The winners will be selected by random draw 15 minutes after the draw was created. Any games not claimed after that point will be given away first come first serve.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two:

Where are you hearing about this? I thought the supposed issue was using it, not just having it.

Edit: reading comprehension failure.

I don't get it. I opened SAM and there was a list with games most I own and others that are f2p. I double-click on a game I own and another window with achievements open.
But no option to start getting cards.

Or I am too noob and opening the game alone is enough for card-idling. <- quote this if noob

Don't see the point of using SAM, the point of achievements is for your own personal satisfaction. Unless your using it for cards.

Question: If you delete a game do you loose the achievements? I've heard conflicting answers.

Cards just take time to get; leave the achievement window open for an hour or so and you'll start to get cards in your inventory. This only works if it's a game that you can get card drops from, of course, so check your badge page to make sure.

It's humorous to me when a developer gives people activation keys for use once a game loads, but doesn't give a download for that game and the only options is buying the game from Desura.

Oh well, easily resolved.

I just wanted to say that Astebreed is like the Gundam game I never knew I wanted.

That and Strike Suit Zero series more than make up for the lack of any Gundam game on Steam.

Thinking about jumping on the new CS:GO operation and try to make some bucks. Mmm, my only inmediate backlog is Dangerous high school girls in trouble, Broken Age and Kentucky Route Zero so I don't know if it would be a good idea to go back to CS:GO and postpone those games.

You need to put a decent amount of time in to get your drops, and it's 1 of each crate per week

Well, it's mainly an ego thing I guess. But if you use Playfire, you can just unlock the achievements for it without playing the game at all.

And no, you don't lose achievements if you delete a game.

Is Divinity exclusive to Steam right now? I have a ton of credit with the Green Man, but he doesn't have it. So I went to look at gog and, despite having a listing with a 6/30 release date, they're not selling it either.

They wouldn't. There's no issue using Cheat Engine or SAM if you aren't directly connecting to a VAC-secured server.

Except if they're on your system when you don't have them open and are connecting to a VAC-enabled server, that's the issue/crux of what I'm getting at: Are they going to ban people for having them on their system while not open or being used while in/connecting-to VAC-enabled servers now?

That's where the paranoia and rumors are coming from: Some people are saying (yes, take with a grain of salt) they're getting banned for having SAM on their system with this latest banwave which is making me paranoid about playing Valve servers with these programs on my harddrive/system.

any tips guys?

do i just redeem the dolla dolla bills that i won from the M&M thing through Amazon? or Can i even add it to paypal? o_O

or just add funds to my steam again and risk getting lock (again) ;_;

Add on steam, choose to fund through PayPal, then add the card.

Banning while connecting to VAC-enabled servers? Sure.(why the hell would you even be using them while you play online?)

Just having them on your PC. You are completely fine.

I think you are worrying too much, if you get vac banned, then we all will get vac banned as well and bring out the pitchforks.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
The day I believe anyone's VAC ban story is the same day I give my credit card number to Origin for a Borderlands 3 preorder.

I too would like to know who ever said this.

That's what I'm thinking, but it's still making me paranoid due to some people saying "if they're still in your memory, you're pretty much fucked if you connect to VAC." Having to flush the memory/etc. just seems... yeah.

I think you are worrying too much, if you get vac banned, then we all will get vac banned as well and bring out the pitchforks.

I guess we'll know if I ever connect to a VAC-enabled server again after this past ban-wave since I used Cheat Engine in STALKER to get rid of the stupid sprint limit a few days ago. So...
