Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I'm all in on Metal Gear on PC. It's always been a PlayStation franchise for me but I just picked up Revengeance and GZ. My PS4 just doesn't hang with my PC.

Hmm: 50% off Offworld Trading Company—much lower than I expected given how the regular sale price was only 10% off, and the game is still in Early Access.

I usually don't buy Early Access, but would anyone like to comment on whether this is a good price to jump in? I understand it's multiplayer-centric thus far, but how is the single-player experience?

This is looking like the first sale in a long time I'll have not bought a game. I think I've hit that point where the discount and games don't align for me. There are some nice deals out there, but I already have the game, or I'm not interested in it.

Really annoying that the new Euro Truck Simulator DLC is more expensive than the bundle that comes with the base game and the other expansion...

I don't think I'll ever get the same high I got from my first summer sale again.

I remember buying so many games. Maybe I just have everything I want. How depressing.

Yep. I wanted the North expansion but they've made it cheaper to buy the bundle which is annoying given I already own the Going East expansion. That's what I get for buying DLC and not waiting for bundles.

Boom! Bitch-slapped!
Please, Don't Touch Anything looks like neat little game, very similar to Papers, Please. Bought.

Nothing else for me today unless I cave for Abyss Odyssey.

This is my first Steam sale after building my PC and I haven't bought anything yet. I don't know if I'm expecting too much but the sale prices for the games I want aren't low enough and the games that are discounted significantly I either already have or am not interested in.

At least my wallet is safe I guess.

UK GAF, I need help. I need a £20 Steam wallet voucher and I don't know where to get one. I used cdkeys but they're out of stock. Amazon don't sell 'em, GAME post the fucking things instead of mailing the codes like a normal person, and PC World apparently take ages to send 'em (post or mail? Who knows?).

If I can't buy the Euro Truck Simulator 2 bundle today, it's entirely possible that my life and the lives of my family will be irrevocably ruined. I will look back on this day when I'm old and know this is where everything went wrong.

Can anyone recommend an online retailer that sells £20 cards and sends them by email?

It's my first sale since building a new PC too. I've added about 40 games to my library and I'm fiending for more!

To any fans of strategy games, please take a moment to consider purchasing Unity Of Command.

It's a really great, tightly designed little title, focusing on the Eastern front of WW2 and with (I consider, at least) heavy leanings toward simulating the 'supply line' aspect of military strategisation.

The game's neatly streamlined down to just a handful of simple systems but they're ones that work together elegantly and thematically. 85% off, just a few bucks.

Talos Principle is my highlight purchase of the sale so far. Good puzzles with seemingly a nice amount of content and an interesting story.

You should all buy Talos Principle.

Another day without a deeper discount on either Grim Dawn or Trails in the Sky.

You are tearing me apart, GabeN :(

Edit: Oh, Trails is discounted on GOG right now. €9.19. I rather buy it on Steam, though. I'll wait for a bigger discount. I know it can hit 60% if it ever goes on sale...

The biggest game on my wishlist that I wanted to get was Civ: Beyond Earth. I've been wanting this game for while. Finally was able to snag it.

Holy hell, that's a lot. What games did you get?! I may pick up a few things when the encore deals come back.

I feel like I'm a little spoiled because I don't want to spend more than $10 on any single game. I would have bought Divinity: Original Sin, for instance, but not at $26. Like I said, I'm probably just expecting too much.

Um, I can't get past the "spend your badges!" screen in the game to start playing. I click on things and nothing happens. Tried it in Firefox and IE. WTF

It took a few minutes to spend all of my points. Are you sure that's not happening to you?

My number of badge points available (334) is not decrementing when I click on "Raining Gold" (or anything else).

[edit] After closing out of the game and reopening it twice, it now recognizes my clicks ... after the first thing I tried was the Feeling Lucky one for 200 -_- fuck

Anyone up for Display Fusion 4-pack? How do you even organize these kind of set-ups?

Anyway, if there's one, I want in. Been using the free version and it's amazing.

You've saved a life today. I'll call my next child 'Nabs' and I'll do it with pride.

Man, I've picked up all sorts, I've got crazy tastes. Staple stuff like Alan Wake, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Tomb Raider. Indie stuff like Monaco, Rogue Legacy, Luftrausers, Hotline Miami, Nidhogg, Dyad, Cook Serve Delicious (I have most of these on Vita and just wanted an archive copy for the PC). Then the weird shit. My favourite shit. Killer is Dead, Hatoful Boyfriend, Deadly Premonition, Sir You Are Being Hunted, Car Mechanic Simulator 2014. That kinda jazz.

I already have a lot of the 'core' titles that I want on PC, so this sale has been largely about consolidating franchises, double-dipping on my PSN indies, and grabbing a few fringe titles. It's been a blast so far!

People told me to wait on the daily's. I was hard headed and now MGS Ground Zeros is like $5. B^( Oh well sometimes you get burned. Anyway, I have a spare key to one of the best Strategy games ever made, 40k marines Dawn of War GOTY edition. If anyone wants it just shoot me a quick pm and it's yours. First to do so of course.

HOI3 is complex strategy game, might be hard at the beginning before understanding everything but I liked it a lot

be sure to get ALL the expansions (sprite or music dlc not really needed) to get the most of it

don't let AI control your army, it ends up doing stupid things

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with HOI and Paradox Grand Strategy, so I know what I'm getting into.

Trying to figure out if its worth jumping in HOI3 with HOI4 announced but I see now they have that as a 2016 title at the earliest so its probably fine to get in 3 now.

Request a refund for MGS. If they don't give you the money back within 45 and some hours~ it can take up to a week form them accepting refund, you can always just wait for encore. If it doesn't show up then/there's no encore, then buy it in the last minutes of sale without losing a dime you haven't already spent.

Absolutely incredible sale. I left PC gaming in October but the 980Ti had me hyped so I purchased it along with an ACER XB270HU Gsync monitor and I'm now reinvigorated by PC gaming. 1440p is a vast improvement over 1080p. Other then games that haven't been released yet and The Witcher III, all my wish list games became daily deals lol. My haul (includes Assassins Creed sale)

Assassins Creed IV
Freedom Cry DLC
Assassins Creed Rogue
Assassins Creed Unity
Shadows of Mordor GOTY
Wolfenstein The New Order
Ryse
Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes
Metro 2033 Redux
Metro Last Light Redux

If the witcher drops more then 10% discount it's currently at I might go after it to lol.

lol is that really legal? I mean I only paid $9 but it would be nice to get it for $5.

Once again showing how anemic this Steam sale is.....the discount for The Sims 3 is not as low as it has been previously. It used to be 50% off or more.

Historical Lowest Price: $6.79 on Wed Jun 25 2014 (in other words, during the last summer sale)
Today's Price: $11.99

Might pick up MGS:GZ and the Assetto Corsa DLC. Can't think of much else that I will want that bad, since GTAV didn't get a discount.

Yes, their refund policy specifically states that it's OK to ask for a refund if the game drops in price during the eligible period, and that doing so will not be considered abuse of the policy.

Gonna quote myself from the other Steam topic.

The Ultimate Edition contains all the issues which provide some amazing content. Issues 10-11 open the new zone of Tokyo and wrap up the first act of the story of this game.

Thank you both!

I'm going to look at a few videos of the combat to make sure it flows. As long as the game has the majority of its glitches gone I may be jump aboard.

Ah awesome, been waiting for the inevitable Elder Scrolls deal. I will take all 3 games please and thank you. Can't wait to dig into these on my first gaming PC.

Now if only the Fallout series and Mass Effect games could feature in the daily deals...

My lobby hit it too, but Valve's just gonna make a 100,000,000 badge now, aren't they?

Probably. Think I'm done with that badge, though. 1 million is more than enough for me. I'll play until I get all my cards.

It is legal, yeah. Plenty of us have done it. The reason as simple as "it's cheaper now," has worked. :p

Amazing. I just requested a refund and told the truth that it was cheaper and I would like to get it for the cheaper price. Here's hoping I get refunded in time to get it for the $4.99 price.
