I don't even really see the fan service anymore. After like 10 eps you stop giving a shit. Satsuki was a strong ass woman, she didn't let anything stand in her way. Once the

twist happened she really softened up as a character. It's also nice how people actually care about her in the show. Her relationship with Soroi and the Four Devas humanized her a lot to the point where you don't even see her as an actual villain.

I can't imagine what kill la kill would look like without the sexualization. In some cases, like Ragyo, it's an important part of their characters, and Ragyo's sexual molestation has to exist in contrast to the normal cheesecake that characters are indifferent about. I don't know how much of it was intentional, but klk really said some interesting things on the nature of fanservice and sexualization itself. So I disagree with the notion that it is a bad thing to have as a fundamental basis. Sexuality is a part of the human being experience and depicting it in the various ways klk did allowed it to make some interesting discoveries. It shouldn't be avoided as a rule. It should be avoided as an exploitation.

Yeah you pretty much have to either drop your shame or just not have any to begin with to enjoy KLK. As fanservicey as it is it's not as blatant with it as a show like Freezing.

I've seen some of the dub. I might watch the dub fully for my third time watching it though, but don't quote me on it. I watched the dub up till episode three and then I just switched back to the sub. I feel dubbed Satsuki doesn't have the commanding tone as the original actress does and for me it's really key part of her character. Dubbed Ryuko, Maku, Nonon and pretty much the rest of the cast are fine though. I like Matt Mercer as Mikisugi as well. You just really can't touch Ryoka Yuzuki though.

Satsuki's sword plants were a part of the image she built up and maintained to get people to follow her. I actually think the friendships she cultivated were a lot stronger than the Bataar and Kuvira relationship. Satsuki would have never done what Kuvira did to Bataar, especially not with Nonon.

I thought she pulled it off well but I guess I am in the minority. Maybe it's because when spoken in a language that we can understand the dialogue comes across as more dumb.

Watch the sub first. Her voice is commanding as fuck. There's a scene in ep 3 where she expresses her will and dominance over something that doesn't measure up in the dub. I pretty much reverted to the sub mid episode.
