goddamn it, all this wait for the game to "come out" (I dont play EA games), and when it finally does... its episodic ;_;
I cant catch a break with this one lol
I mean, the sandbox mode is pretty complete, if you had any interest in that. This game has made huge strides since its early days in EA. In terms of seeing how a game develops over time, watching The Long Dark progress has been pretty neat, even just in the 1.5 or so years I've been playing it off and on.
Will story mode have human enemies, be Road-esque? Never really followed the game's development
Game should be live on Steam and PSN now. Xbox will be up in another 10-30 mins
Yup this is my experience. Game won't launch for me and update isn't availableSounds like things are really screwed up on the Xbox store.
People who had the game in EA now can't launch it and the full game update isn't available
Hope they get it sorted quickly

I already own this on PC, but bought on PS4 Pro for comfy couch survival.
Played briefly at lunch, and must say performance is not great on PS4 Pro -- At night with a torch casting shadows inside a stone church, FPS was probably dipping into the low 20fps - mid-teens, which is a shame, because shadows don't even look good; very low res shadows and blocky edges. Will have to give it some more time after work, but if that's how the performance is going to be, I'll just play on PC.
Same! It runs great on my PC with no issues, so I was hoping it'd look and run well on PS4 as well. This was a very limited experience, and performance was fine until I brought the torch out.Damn that's disappointing. The game runs at 4k max settings easily on my modest PC so I'd hoped for better on PS4

Yeah, I'm not too worried. I will give it time. I've had it on PC for over two years I think, and I come back to it every now and then to discover a lot of new maps and features. I will play more on PS4 when I get home from work. I'm sure I can get past the minor issues for now.It's been on Xbox/PC for a while and I'm sure PS4 is a little different. Given its their first release for it I'll be patient, the support so far has been great so I'll be surprised if they abandon PlayStation users. Hopefully performance tweaks come once the launch madness settles
To be fair to the devs they said for years that the game would be episodic. The info was always out there.goddamn it, all this wait for the game to "come out" (I dont play EA games), and when it finally does... its episodic ;_;

I'm not sure but I don't think so. It's really just a man vs nature kind of thing.Will story mode have human enemies, be Road-esque? Never really followed the game's development
Now this is super sad to hear. Have people tried spamming the Steam forum about it? Mouse acceleration feels woeful.I don't remember how long ago I originally played this game, but I think I've had it since it launched in early access.
Game performance is pretty bad, and there's mouse acceleration that you can't disable which gets really annoying. I think those two reasons might be why I never really played the game all that much. Really disappointing to see that after all that time and an official release, there's still mouse acceleration. Nobody even asks for this feature.
I'll just leave this here...
Oh. My. Gawd.

Nooooooooo
Rip little friend
I'll never become a monster like this person
Is this game completely inscrutable in the fashion of other popular survival games (Ark and 7 Days to Die for example?) I want to at least have some idea of what Im supposed to be doing.

Looks fun. I wish it had co-op in the survival mode. I will look at some videos of gameplay and see if I can squeeze it into my gaming budget!

It's logical realistic survival. If you have an idea of what you would do to try and survive in a freezing winter forest environment, it's probably what you have to do hereIs this game completely inscrutable in the fashion of other popular survival games (Ark and 7 Days to Die for example?) Bought this on early access years ago, nice to see it come out, I haven't touched it since then.
Can't wait to see all your impressions! I assume we are all stuck at work 😢
If it makes you feel any better, you probably gave it brain damage after throwing your rock at it and hitting it in the head. After you release it, it will become easy prey for the wolf in the woods who will utilize the nurishment from the rabbit to murder you in your sleep.
This legit simulated, or you're talking the real life consequences?If it makes you feel any better, you probably gave it brain damage after throwing your rock at it and hitting it in the head. Hey, Rimworld does crazy stuff like thatI doubt this game simulates rabbit brain damage lol
Excited to try story mode. I played a few hours of this like 2 years ago and it's incredibly atmospheric, I have pretty vivid memories of it still.
