Before I ask the question my pc specs are:

Intel Core I7 2600
8 GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 670
SSD
Win 7

Based on the specs above would I get a better experience on PC (keep in mind I hate fluctuating FPS, and want the highest possible settings), or PS4?

Remember the guy who said this was as bad as Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines?

I don't think I've seen him in this thread lately.

You're all laughing at his opinion now... I'm laughing at the people who were freaking out because of it. :)

Thats id tech 5.

That's 60fps.

Blaming every deficiency and compromise a game has solely on it's engine is getting tiresome.

I'm here dude & still thinking this game was rushed out.Game starts good but after chapter 3 goes downhill all the whey till the end.
In my book this game is no more then 6/10.

Yes, but is it really as bad as those two games?

I mean, really?

This game is so much better it's not even funny.

I am glad this is being recieved well. I blew my gaming budget on other things this month and with MK8 coming up, it might be a bit until I play. But I look forward to it.

Just curious, are those textural objects (ie cutlery on the box) common? It looks pretty solid otherwise, but those textures make me chuckle a bit.

Well, machinegames said that the game will make us "cry blood" about it's difficulty...but now we have a very easy game in hardest mode.

Also, they explained a lot of times about the 90's spirit, the good level design and exploration, i've explored more on Bioshock Infinite than in Wolfenstein NO, it's NOT a 90's game, not by far.

So, with that in mind, i understand that opinion...and for me, Wolfesntein NO is not much more deeper than CoD.

For me, in some areas the game looks absolutely amazing. In other areas, I'm sometimes like "uhm, yeah...".

Gameplay has been absolute fun, though. :)

I'm actually really surprised the game is being received this well on GAF. I did not think it was that good, a poor man's Metro Last Light if you ask me. Oh well, at least everybody seems to be having more fun with it than I had, that's good I guess. Maybe you all haven't played past chapter 6 yet, who knows.

Thanks. I am no grafix elitist so its all good. Also, basic question... health regen or items? I am assuming (and hoping) items...

Started a second play through to try out the alternate choice and round up enigma codes and gold items, was walking up the stairs during the first mission
towards where the squad are pinned down by the turrets
and I got kicked back to main menu and got a message saying there was a problem with my save data, with no option to continue.
Panic.

All my collectables are still there under extras but I have no resume option and no chapters option on the main menu.

Switched off for tonight, didn't want to go through all the scripted stuff on the plane at the start again. Weird glitch though, and if it had happened during the final mission I would have lost my shit.

PS4 version, I should say.

Playing "Bring 'em on"-difficulty - I don't know about the other levels, but I guess it works the same.

Part health regen, part items. Basically, you've got a counter that goes to '100' and you can refill the counter with health packs.

- If you lose health it regenerates back to the nearest '10' (so, if it drops to 72, it regenerates to 80 - if it drops to 58, it regenerates to 60 - etc.)
- When your health goes below 20, it will regenerate back to 20

Oh, and if you pick up a health pack when your health is already at '100', you'll get a temporary boost in health. So, for example, you pick up a health pack worth '20' than your health will jump to 120 (but quickly (few seconds max) degenerates down back to 100).

It's a nice system.

It regenerates to the nearest 20. So if you're damaged and drop from 100 to 75 health you'll regenerate back up to 80.

Pretty sure this is how it works anyway ;p

Yep, that's how it works. I said it incorrectly, sorry.

Still, if you go below 20 (even just '1'), it always regenerates to '20' (for me).

On chapter 4 after about 4 hours. Really, really liking it. It's definitely a game like the Metro series where not everyone is going to care for it. I was surprised by its tone. I thought it was going to be lighter but it's serious as fuck and does it way better then expected. They've created a super grim believable Nazi ruled world. Cutscenes are good, characters are good with quality performances. I'm a fan of B.J. close mic whispery stuff in gameplay. There's lots of German being spoken, which adds a lot. Only complaints I have is that it's got pretty bad sound mixing (voice acting gets lost a lot in other sounds) and you have to manually pick up ammo. Manual ammo pickup is one of those old school gameplay things that isn't really fun anymore.

So yeah, I'm having a blast.

yeah, I love the game so far but this is my huge complaint. Half the time I miss what people are saying cause you can't hear them over all the other noises and I'm in the middle of a gun fight so I really can't just stop and read the subtitles. I end up kinda fudging what I'm supposed to do cause usually I can't even hear them trying to tell me what I am supposed to be doing. Plus I feel like I'm missing a lot of story which makes it harder to get into it).

I love the game but that is a huge issue. And as some one else pointed out, there's not even an option to turn down the background noises in relation to people speaking so there's nothing you can do about it.

The second phase of the last fight is super frustrating. I'm stuck on it now, taking a break to go get food. I almost had it once, but I got cornered and killed. Oh, also (LAST CHAPTER SPOILERS)
fuckin Bubi. I was wondering when he'd finally pop up again.

Couldn't disagree more. I actually think some of the best parts are after chapter 3, and there is no way anyone in their right mind could think that this is on the same level as those two shit games.

Yeah... I don't know what that guy was smoking. Guess we all need some. Granted to each their own but damn.... that's pretty low and I enjoyed Duke and Aliens for the crap they are, but yeah not even CLOSE. NOT EVEN ANYWHERE NEAR CLOSE.

Haha I just realized it was you making this post. Glad you're liking it.

Why is this game so gross? I know they're trying to convey a world ruled by Nazis, but from what I've seen, some of the stuff here is just creepy/ torture porn level insanity. Bad enough to make me not want to buy the game at any point.

So lets just rephrase that as it regenerates to the nearest 20, rounding up. Sounds good to me ;p

Anyway, throwing knives at Nazi fools is so fucking satisfying
Shooting them too, with a variety of firearms.

And stabbing them in close quarters.

This game is gleefully violent.

Before you go down to fight him, turn around and load up where all the weapons are behind you, there are also some sub machine rockets when you first walk in, hammer him with those, and he'll be almost done, finish him off with whatever else you have :D

Just beat it. Thanks for the tips!

ENDING SPOILERS FOR FERGUS playthrough (don't know if there is a different ending for Wyatt)
That was a sad ending. Not at all the kind of thing I expected from a Wolfenstein game. And that end credits song :( RIP BJ

A shame that the game seems easier than it ought to be (though playing peekaboo stealth in early FPSes always makes things easier than running into a gunfight). How's the difference in quality between early-game and late-game?

Is there a new game plus? As in, if I don't unlock all the perks on the first run do I have to start them all over? And do I have to refind all collectibles? Thanks.

Would like to know this as well

I have now played every version completing the Xbox 360 and PC version Review and I would say yes. It is not amazing but it has solid gameplay, a very good overall length and is enjoyable enough to not feel like the money was wasted.

I rate games on a buy, wait for a sale, rent, or don't think about it scale and this was the low end of buy the high end of wait for a sale. Due to the current deals you can get I rated it a buy because the consumer can find deals if they look.

Yep. Well, sort of. All your unlocked perks and collectibles are saved seperately, so you can just choose the first chapter, and pick whatever difficulty you like. All perks, collectibles, health upgrades and armor upgrades stay intact. All weapon upgrades too. You're free to play either timeline with all your stuff intact. Your autosave gets overwritten, but you still keep all the chapters unlocked. I've still got the final level to finish, and I've been going back to earlier chapters for more upgrades.

Went into the Wyatt timeline after almost completing the Fergus one, and holy fuck! You get different characters, different ways through the levels, and new dialogue. Mucho replayability in this bad boy.
