World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

I wish you could have 3 party members or stacks. I'm about to go Icicle Ridge in Chapter 6 and since I've hit level 10 I thought I'd mess with the Coliseum. I bumped into Ifrit and Shiva and though they are so much higher level than me and almost one shot me to death, that has no bearing on getting off a quick Fire/Ice and using a Prism on them. I managed to do the same to Ramuh after several retries.

But now I want to use all three at the same time but I can't :(

Once you get a mirage with the smash ability, you can backtrack to an area with the little versions of the summons and have a party with all three, one will be small though. The arena ones are large only, not actually the best for permanent team slots.

I decided to do some grinding before Icicle Ridge while catching up on some TV shows. Turns out that Nether secret area + Thunderbolt allowed me to level my entire party to 20+ in no time, ha. Guess I'll be a bit over leveled for a bit.

Ooh I have something with Smash. Can't remember what it's called but I evolved the Gnome from earlier into it. I think I'll go back and try to catch baby Ifrit and Ramuh.

But while it is an alternative, it's not realy the same. I love the way the characters sit in the large Shiva, Ifrit and Ramuh's hands. While I'm not sure what the 2nd form is like, baby Shiva (Babylizz?) just doesn't look like Shiva.

On a side note I'm looking forward to seeing the alternative gender versions. I remember female Ifrit from the demo, so male Shiva to come. I assume there's a female Ramuh as well?

Started using Mist Dragon in my party. Gentle Mist is so OP. Cheap auto regen that lasts indefinitely as far as I can tell. I can pretty much ignore healing, even on enemies higher leveled than me.

There's a hidden treasure chest in the first map of
Train Graveyard
that's going to screw somebody out of a Platinum.

People can always go back to it, can't they?

(Is it the one in an alcove that the camera doesn't turn for, where the first pile of junk falls?)

Whoa. My Who's Who log seems to be displaying a bunch of info from ahead of where I am in the story. I noticed a few new mirages that I've never encountered also appeared in my bestiary. Rydia's entry spoiled that
the twins were the Demon Dyad
. I'd recommend being careful if you're the type to regularly check log updates for lore.

At the final dungeon and unless Lann and Reynn start killing all the champions and erase the existence of Final Fantasy from the hearts and minds of every fan, I still like them and think they're funny. I'm not sure how doing something dumb, getting suckered or
being shitbags before they lost their memories
disqualifies them from being likable.
Specifically who they are now vs who they are from back then are almost completely different people and even after everything comes to a head they try and be better people. That's like...your pretty standard "used to be bad, now we're trying to be good" character arc
.

The plot for this game isn't amazing but it's fine and that's all it really needs to be. If this was just the interventions it would be a great game and a sequel with mostly intervention focus and maybe using the Lilikins in stacks would be great but if you don't have a unifying story that is leading somewhere to keep it together and moving you'll lose people. A game can't really just be "moments" with nothing really bridging them and work. You need to feel like what you're doing is heading somewhere or matters and if you just have little moments and at the end of the game you go "Welp, that was a fun series of adventures that didn't have any real dilemma" it'll be a bit of a lame duck. Even Pokemon, which has a "carefree" story that apparently doesn't matter still has the same sort of story beats. A group tries to do something bad, use a legendary pokemon that endangers the world and you save it...before using it to beat up other Pokemon. It's a safe, normal storyline like which is what this story is. It's serviceable, it has it's twists, it has it's villains and moments and it works because it's not actually trying to be super deep. Everything is pretty surface level.

But unlike a large section of GAF I never had a problem with the Kingdom Hearts plots so what do I know?

That said, is Shantotto a huge jerk in FFXI? Cause damn she is cold.

So i am pretty sure i have finished the game, enjoyed the hell out of it thus far. But i am not 100%? can anyone help me out or explain what i am missing. spoilered below

I have completed the final section and moved onto the Postscript Quest section. I have 100% completed all of the tearoom missions that i have access to including Omega......but the quest star still points me back to the tearoom? What the heck does it want me to do//what am i missing?

Still says collect more powerful mirages but that is way too vague and i have no idea what i have missed......

Thanks for help in advance!

Have you imprismed each unique summon in the coliseum?

Alright, in end game I'm starting to see some forms that are better kept in S size thanks to their unique abilities and just gaining stats or abilities through the other board. Search Eye for instance is a Top Tier Support buffer who can get a pretty hefty magic stat as well as some of the good passives from it's other two forms. Likewise, I think the Mini Flan becomes a damage sponge better as a smaller dude and gains most of his bigger forms abilities.

Have you
gone to Sherlotta in the Ice Region to continue the hunt for the Black Fox
?

Big Bridge trolling hard. I see the parallel path on the other side of the bridge and think OBVIOUSLY there is a chest at the end of that super long path. Nope. Nothing.

Anyone know what mob can inflict doom off the top? I need to imprism
Kyubi
in the coliseum and I need to Doom his ass.

Just started Chapter 8. If I understand it right, if I don't capture a mirage, it's fine because they will be available to catch in the coliseum at some point, right? Are there certain mirages that this is NOT the case for?

Anybody catch a Kuza Kit? It says to hit him with a counter but it's not working. I've countered him a dozen times and he won't go into an imprismible state.

There are only a few mirages that are a one-time encounter, and those usually will give you a momento so you can always obtain them through transfiguration later on. That said, in most cases you can catch them by returning to the dungeon(s) they are from or at the coliseum, yes.

I've had some weird inconsistencies with this but honestly for those kinda "counter to catch" guys I made a specific set-up to counter as much as possible. Dudes with spike abilities and rage bomber and "counter"

Worked...relatively well.

I think it had something to do with me unlocking the Kuza Kit board on my Babyhemoth. Apparently you don't get prisms the first time you encounter a mirage if you've already unlocked them.

Where is that area? Can you give a short walkthrough?

Ah yeah. I had the same issue. It's actually really lame, as it never mentions this. The only way to get another prism is to take the monster you unlocked the board with through that board and unlock the jewel that way.

It's kinda silly, honestly.

I think I'm regretting getting this on Vita. Game seems to look jaggy and low frame rate. Might return it for PS4 version.

Honestly, I don't know how a KH/WoFF crossover would work. Grymoire is indeed separate from the main games and whatnot, but KH already intro'd the FF characters in their world so...it'd be really weird and clashing.

This lore can be thrown in the garbage no problem, I'm sure they could make a crossover work. But it'd probably be the KH characters shrinking down in size if the Sora DLC is any indication.

Then again this game might be lucky to get a sequel.

It'll need legs, sales haven't been great. Not bad, but it's no Dissidia or mainline title.

It's opened worst than that monster hunter lite FF game, it better have better legs. At least for SE and Chiba.

It's actually doing better than a lot of the spinoffs adjusted for install base, but that mattering would require SE to have realistic expectations of what it would sell compared to say Theatrhythm or FFEX and a budget to match, but it doesn't look they do and this very likely cost more to develop than the others. SE and setting proper sales goals don't go together.

Even though I haven't beaten this yet I would love a sequel with more cameo's. This game is honestly one of my favourites.

I'm disappointed that it's not selling amazingly. It's much better than Explorers which was not very good.

This game has a huge issue in who they are selling it to. FF fans is the obvious answer but at the same time how many FF games are fan favourites that have over the top Chibi style? Hardcore FF fanbase is not huge nowdays and there has been so many other mashup games so that side doesn't feel fresh either.

I think this could potentially had sold better if it wasn't a mashup game and embraced KHish artstyle instead. More regular feeling FF game aimed for younger audience than XV with some pokemon on the side. Not that I personally mind the game of course, I quite like it so far. But when was the last time we got actual high effort standalone FF console spinoff? Like, Crystal Chronicles or something?

A big part of it is it's not a console spinoff. It was made with the limitations of Vita in mind. Visual direction would've been dictated by that.

If PSP can handle Birth By Sleep/Dissidia then Vita should be able to handle turn based FF console spinoff with KH style characters. I mean, we already have 2 of them on the field at any given time, I dunno how much more taxing it would be to change the townspeople ect.

And honestly I'm playing the Vita version and it definately feels like a downport rather than the platform it was aimed for. PS4 version looks good to me from what I have seen from videos. I just don't feel like Vita holding it back is the big issue behind people not having interest for it.

But you are correct that it isn't truly made for consoles with 100% focus. I wonder if we ever will see another one. The supposedly terrible Wii CC bombed, no?

If a game like Ni No Kuni can ship over a million copies being PS3 exclusive it makes you think what the game could potentially had done if it was a FF spinoff instead, especially in Japan where it bombed.

So you can't use ★Shiva ★Ramuh or ★Ifirit in online multiplayer arena?

I also can't use my ★Goblin princess?

I take it I can't use ★ unique mirages there
