World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

Finally caught that Flan Princess. That berserk spamming was rough. I kept either getting killed or trapped berserked until I killed her. Started the battle by toppling the stack, then using sticky goop on the Malboro Menace until it stuck so I could imprism him.

Had to arrange it so that I'd be guaranteed to go next immediately after meeting the imprism requirements so I could use a mega-phoenix. I then failed to imprism her a dozen or so times and I had to meet the requirements again. Finally caught her after another 6 or so attempts. Sometime after meeting the requirements the first time and trying to imprism her, she stopped spamming berserk. Not sure why, but she never used it again.

Lmao
"Hey Tidus, how come you can breathe underwater?"
"-dodges the question-"

Also Rikku's who's who that says she has a underwater breathing technique (patent pending)

This game is so fun

25 hours in, Chapter 18 on Vita.

This is one of the best JRPGS I've played in years. What a delicious appetizer before FFXV...just perfect timing.

So IDK how it happened but I'm 55 hours and I haven't gotten to an ending yet.

But I did manage to defeat the Omega God "DLC" so I'm expecting this final boss to be easy in comparison.

rofl isn't that a 5 star intervention quest? I think you indeed might be OP :P

Just getting started with Chapter 2 and I'm in love. The game is so dumb in all the best ways, and Lann and Tama are kind of adorable in their banter. I can see why some people would cringe, but it's perfect in the current landscape of games I've been playing.

Got to Chapter 21, and...

Taking down
Brandelis
with a Behemonster starting at half health with Revenge attacks, and watching it fall within 4 turns... hilarious.

I feel like the flaw of this game is that the late game dungeons just get ludicrous in length and tedious in design. With the exception of Chapter 21's castle, and its gimmick making the map confusing, but never really boring or held down by unnecessary portions of the map.

I'm at the
Big Bridge
and kind of bored of my stack. I have physical stacks for Lann and magic for Raynn. Currently rolling with chibi form as the large Mirages are pretty crazy. However, being that there are a lot of Mirages, I don't really feel like going through them all and spending too much time worrying about what I should be using, so if anyone has any quick recommendations that would be great. Also don't want to spend much of a grind on stacks that aren't all that. And if I don't have the Mirages yet I'll keep a mental note or refer back. Thanks!

I only just got to the first Grymoire town but this game is already a joy. I'm a huuuuuge Dragon Quest Monsters fan so I'm basically in heaven. The writing is charming, which honestly surprises me. I'm also glad I was told to play the demo since it looks like I've got a special something to collect at some point.

For people at end game:

I just got to
Chapter 21 postgame stuff
and I really want to swiftly finish up the main stuff ASAP but I'm finding
the 5 Star Summon fights difficult
I'm level 50 and hadn't had any trouble before this so I'm guessing I just have to level up. Can someone recommend the quickest place to level up at this point in the game? Also my stacks consist of Moogle/Reynn/Valefor and Affrit/Lan/Fenrir. They've worked well, but if I'm missing any must haves I'd like to have them in my general group so they are getting experience when I do this last bit of leveling to clear the end content. Thanks!

You can replay old interventions, so there's a few there that should nab you good exp for that level.

There's some optional dungeons which are the best place to grind, you'll know when you've unlocked those after doing everything story related.

What??? Should I play the demo even though I've already started the game??

Thanks, I'm going to do all the other interventions I haven't finished
besides the pleiad ones
and I'll double down on the ones that give the most exp till I can handle the higher level content.

You'll need to do every intervention eventually anyway.

So I'm in the Crystal tower and still no Sazh wtf. That dude actually did stacking in a previous FF game! Pls pls tell me he shows up?

lol of course none of the black characters show up in this

Can you do anything with the giant clam in Sunken Temple?

It'll open itself eventually. Can't miss it.

Made it to the Final Boss and
this is pretty ridiculous. FIVE boss fights in a row with no break in between. The fact that champions are also locked out for the last one really takes the cake. Died right at the last one. Oof.

Yo wtf with lil Shiva spawn rate. I've seen four lil Ramuh and three lil Ifrit wandering around the Nebula secret zone.

Definitely pick lil Shiva when you start.

I don't plan on playing this, but I've started listening to the soundtrack; it's a pretty good Hamauzu score so far. The battle themes are pleasantly reminiscent of his work on Sigma Harmonics, and the arrangements of existing FF music are generally more interesting than the covers in crossover games so far - the high-energy Hunter's Chance remix, somewhat liberal interpretation of Those who Fight and sweeping, driving version of The Sending are highlights. Terra is more conservative, but still a strong cover. I think the worst of the bunch would have to be Those who Fight Further, which does nothing new or interesting with the piece and isn't a particularly outstanding recreation of the original's style either, unlike Awakening.

It's not like they'd be an insurmountable leap as far as the designs go...

But I guess that's just a side-effect of even the characters who were nominally part of their games' main parties generally being treated like nonentities in additional media - Barret was barely in the Compilation and the XIII sequels treated Sazh the worst out of any of the first game's cast - even the Chocobo chick got dragged through the mud with a memorable bit of Toriyama fuckery.

Nothing is missable here right?

Dark Resistance + Status Resistance

Not so much unfair as much as the latter wasn't really a thing the entire game.

Yeah I'm going out to find some resist confusion. Had 3 amazing runs that got dashed because he nailed both stacks. It going over 3 times faster than me on the turn meter is pretty nuts.

Yeah the final boss is probably the most unfair fight I've played in years. Yikes.

If you're still having trouble...

When the countdown begins his resistance to most elements plummets. Unstack everyone and throw spellstones at him with each character ( hopefully you have plenty of the strongest type left ). He will fall before he even gets the chance to fire.

Huh, never thought of that.
I'll give it a shot. I've managed to deal about 12,000 to him in one shot with Petty Grudge as well.

I read about it over on Gamefaqs. It worked great for me. I used a bunch of Earth Spellstones and he dropped stupidly fast. :)

Your strategy worked flawlessly.
I unstacked as soon as the countdown started and with Lightning Marbles I could easily kill him at 100% health if I wanted to. I actually felt pretty stupid having died 6-7 times when this was an stupidly easy alternative. I almost wanted to give up after losing when he had no visible health. Definitely a challenge!

Good stuff! Glad to have helped.

I'm getting my arse kicked early in the game. Am I missing something? I thought people said this game was easy, but right now I don't feel like it is.
