World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

I'm getting my arse kicked early in the game. Am I missing something? I thought people said this game was easy, but right now I don't feel like it is.

Did you catch enough mirage to make 2 full stack? (large, medium and small) And use libra to see enemy weakness.

So got the first ending...

and what the fuck? Super upbeat happy game, end credits are girl crying to her brothers death? Unexpected doesn't really cover it.

Going in for proper ending.

There is a lot of potential for sequels in this game. The exnine knights, other worlds, the antichampions (like Sephiroth), the Cogna, pretty much anything to do with Enna Kros. I really hope there is one.

I hope there's a sequel which has absolutely nothing to do with the story of this. Improve the gameplay, add new monsters, completely new story that focuses on monster catching and FF cameos and none of the world ending nonsense.

Just got through the Library.

I love how in Tometown there are statues of the enemies that came out of the books in FFV.

If you examine the book in the middle it goes page by page with an accurate Blue Magic spell from the Pg enemies from FFV. Thought that was a nice touch.

Well then people would call it a cheap, shallow cash grab. I actually quite enjoyed the story, and don't get any of the "Kingdom hearts style bullshit" complaints

Anyone who wants more from a game than just endless cameos?

That's the point of the game. Now they said the game was made to appeal to a younger audience, but it utterly fails at that. The appeal comes from a reasonably satisfying gameplay loop and familiar characters and monsters. Same as Dragon Quest Monsters. Go a bit wider, same as say Hearthstone. People are cool with familiar brands with great gameplay. The gameplay could certainly use some work here, but it has potential.

It's not as if the current story has a whole lot of depth and value. It's basically your usual blend of JRPG and anime tropes in a save the world story. I can't think of much this game does that's any different from a Tales or KH, and it doesn't even do it as well as those.

Game would be cooler if it were just an exploration of the world where you join FF stories like the interventions. No unnecessary pretense. Keep the light hearted tone throughout. No need for a melodramatic plot twist filled final stretch.

A game just about jumping into older games worlds to help out the heroes in events that took place would be amazing. I would buy that. They tried here kind of, but everything is all mixed up and different. It would have been a better hook I think.

Okay I finished up Dragon Quest Builders yesterday so I figured I'd give this a start now. Is there anything to watch out for? As in missables and stuff? Or if I go for platinum (depending on how much I like it) are there things that would be a good idra to start early in order to save time in the long run?

Thanks

Nothing missable.

Be mindful about your level while searching for specific mirages. Way too easy to overlevel and make the last half of the game a snooze.

Over level or not, the game is pretty damn easy.

Going for completionist, catching everything, finding all cheats and doing all optional content will help toward the platinum.

After nearly 20 hours, I feel pretty dumb having just now realized that each individual mirage can swap around between every connected mirage board and thus be essentially multiple viable types (even if you can only switch them at specific times), and that when you unlock a new mirage board, you get to spend all of your SP all over again.

That said, this makes catching more than one mirage of a given type/family pretty pointless.

Coming back to this after a week or so away (been really busy with a new job), just hit Chapter 21, is now a good time to go level up some dudes and go back and catch missing mirages? Is there a good grind spot at this point or should I just barrel through? Feel like I've got too few high level mirages I count on and I'm not spread out enough ability-wise etc.

After 55 hours played the Platinum is finally mine.

This is certainly my GOTY so far. Easily. It's the ultimate love letter to Final Fantasy fans. All of the nods, both little and blatant, towards the FF series have been amazing to watch and play through and some of the remixes of classic songs are amazing.

I'm a little gutted its over, TBH. I'll be popping back on it when the Sora DLC hits. I wanna see what crazy Champion sequence they've made for him!

Is a mirage with only one transguration at a disadvantage over other with multiple forms??

What happen after I've filled out all the abilities on a mirage board? Is there any use for AP after that??

The more transfigurations, the more you can amp up any given mirage, so yeah, the ones with 3 or 4 seem to be better than the ones with only 1 or 2. That, and leveling a single mirage that has lots of transfigurations and boards to swap to means fewer other mirages you need to level.

You're a very efficient player. I only just got the true ending at 60+ hours, and still have a few things to clean up for the platinum.

I'm curious about whether or not the DLC for this game is just going to be small stuff like new champions with new summon animations, or whether they're going to FFXV this with some additional story-based DLC.

Just out of curiosity I just
escaped the prison under the flying castle and destroyed the mako reactor
, how far in % im in the story more or less? thx

Thanks. I was debating between Phoenix and Valefor as my flying L. I really like phoenix, but it doesn't have any transfiguration :-(

Big Bridge
is hell.
It's not the greatest design, but
it's also because you don't really have a good grasp of what it's like until you get onto the first bridge from the platform for the first time, at least afterwards you can get a sense that there's no treasure along some paths and you don't need to waste your time with them.

I can't see it being anything substantial. I imagine it will just be summons and a few new boss fights, much like the Omega DLC we just got.

There's a hidden treasure chest in the first map of
Train Graveyard
that's going to screw somebody out of a Platinum.

Your praise let me think about getting it finally. I'm a FF fan since the first one but, I don't know, I feel the demo was quite bare...

Any real difference between the VITA and PS4 version besides some graphical bonus? Because it's 30$ difference in Canadaland.

This game is really good. Can't believe how underrated it is. I'm chapter 9 and I'm loving is so far. I've been craving a more traditional JRPG like this for awhile now. I like how the optional content like the Tearoom missions and collusion are actually meaningful. Being able to fast forward combat is great too.

Magikek Armor P, the bonus mirage for completing the demo, can only be obtained on a new game started AFTER completing the demo. As far as I know there's no way of getting it in a file started before completing the demo.

That's the only missable I know of other than some fun altered dialogue that happens when you manage to win fights that are supposed to be unwinnable.

So, how/when can I get the transmog into L for Fritt, Bablizz and Zapt? Yeah, yeah, I know you can get Ifrit, Shiva, and Ramuh from the Coliseum, but since those can't get the lower level mirage boards, they won't be as powerful.

There's a 'true' ending? I hate that bullshit ugh

It isn't an ending you can miss, though. You get to the 'end' then there is more game to get the 'true ending.'

Ok, thanks. After Persona 4G, every time I see True Ending I get anxious lol

I don't think the game has many endings.

The "first" ending is actually a fake ending, I loved it because I definitely thought the game was really ending lol

Castle Exnine
is terrible. Who thought of this dungeon? No map, can climb up/down walls, it never ends.

I'm guessing this is the
last dungeon maybe
, so that's a relief.

Yeah I got it from the demo. Was quite useful since I chose Shiva at the beginning and it's the onky thing I have that has Thunder offense.

I missed it myself. Went back and completed the demo but to no avail. Hope they add a way to get it in later. Like a check demo data button in the DLC menu. I'm pretty sure they've had that in games before.

Game went from bubbly to downright gloomy in that chapter.

I feel a bit overwhelmed when I've been playing this lately. I have so many level 1 mirages that I feel like I need to level up but not sure if I should or not. Really enjoying it so far though.

After the game does the demo save check, can I safely delete the demo and its data? I'm playing on Vita and I really don't have much storage space to spare.

Should be able to. You should have the Coliseum ticket for the Magitek Armor P in you key items if you check. That's all you need.
