Hey you never know.

I need the extra free time to finish Bioshock + some other games anyway

I still can't get over this "believe" BS. It's everywhere now.

Thread title: Thursdayton

OP: "Believe"

For another reference point, Gears of War sold one million copies after two weeks. I think a lot of folks are underestimating this game.

I swear Gahiggidy did it before Drinky. Gahiggidy would always be popping in threads saying shit like "I believe this news" or "This I believe" until finally it was shortened to "believe". I think that Drinky post was more or less making fun of that....among other things.

All which makes "Believe" plastered on Halo merchandise even more hilarious.

Heheh, I like how everything Halo related in real life is unhealthy...

...but I suppose it's a perfect match, considering the game is digital crack for most people...

It scares me how big Halo really is. How often do you see this sort of marketing associated with a video game.

I think he was more inspired by an interview close to that E3.

When asked if gamers should believe Hideo Kojima when he promised Snake was the only playable character in MGS3, he responded "Believe" .

I believe they're selling a special version of that cup with holes in the bottom.

They're calling it "The Flood" cup.

:lol :lol

I don't know why, but that's the funniest thing I've read all night, I think I need sleep. Also the Halo threads on this board scare me now, bailing before we're at 20 pages.

The result is Mountain Dew Game Fuel, which adds the taste of cherry to the original Mountain Dew's citrus flavor, along with 30% more caffeine.
"Mountain Dew Game Fuel. If the flavor doesn't kill you..."

You hadn't seen that? It was from one of the pentathlons. Frankie uploaded that to B.net.

1 million pre-orders at this point simply confirms for me that college kids and spoiled pre-teens have more disposable income for games this time around.

Rated M. The parents have the disposable income.

I don't care how big of a fan of a specific game you are, if you are genuinely psyched over game marketing of the type and micro-macro scale of your typical blockbuster movie release, then there is something wrong with you.

you must be one of those guys who never really had an adolescence or something.

Well it's 1 million pre-order in the US alone. The rest of the world SHOULD have close to another 500K to that figure.

Give another month and a bit of pre-orders to come, plus day one sales (not EVERYONE pre-orders, most of those pre-orders would be legendary) andI reckon it could clear 3 million day one worldwide.

Dude, a small child could use that monstrosity as a wading pool.

Canada is not amused. We'll be sending Celine Dion to your home.

Famitsu reported some interest in their latest poll, so you can triple that.

actually, halo 3 should be a relatively big seller (for an xbox game, mind you) in japan. halo 1 and 2 didn't do terribly there, i think.
