Famitsu reported some interest in their latest poll, so you can triple that.

50 x 3 = 150

or

50 x 1 = 50 x 2 = 100 x 3 = 300

Fastest Selling Xbox 360 game in Japan...since BD

Sorry BenjaminBirdie...

If I had known how awesome he is I wouldn't have done it. Please....just forgive me.

I think I read that there's going to be 600,000 Legendary Editions made (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Those will probably be gone Day 1. That's about 78 million just from that alone, and the other two editions are $60 and $70 respectively. The userbase is smaller, but I think a lot of people grossly underestimate how many people will buy an Xbox for this. Every single person I know that owns or has owned a Xbox but doesn't have a 360 yet plans on buying one sometime in September for this game, and I'm talking about 10-12 people here, including very casual older gamers at work. This will be huuuuuuuuge.

Halo 3 moving 10-12 360 systems confirmed.

Check out Manhattan. By the end of the week you'll be on his porch trying to convince him of his paternity yourself.

Please do not bump this thread.
Any reason not to? I mean projecting sales of Halo is going to be just as a common topic as next NPD numbers. Do you prefer a new thread?

I don't know why now but it just hit me how the PS3 is fighting an epic battle against the gameboy advance.

These Odysseus made up numbers are really fun :lol :lol :lol

I would kill for Halo BK toys. I literally spent the last three months just buying fast food toys. Spidey, FF4, Transformers, Wii, Hello Kitty and now the Simpsons.

Does this mean the Burger King is in Halo 3?
Are you crazy? The Burger King is creepier than the clown from IT. No one wants him in their game.
Secretly, I do. Only to satisfy my masochistic desires.

I throw an insult at the Halo Franchise and then just casually walk away from this thread without a scar?

You bitches be slipping....

I think I'm on your ignore list.

Bitch.

i still don't understand why ppl preorder anyway.

Back when Halo 2 came out, how many copies did it sell the first day?

I think, the closest game to get to that number was DQ7, which I think sold 1.5 million the first day in Japan

Fantastic. :lol

Am I the last person on earth that still doesn't understand the appeal of this series reaching such levels?

scifi is hot right now, shooters are hot right now . if you dont like either of those genres too much then the combination aint gonna move you, but its pretty much whats .. hot

Nintendo, this is how you market a game to the masses.

Seriously, what does it take for this to get through their thick heads? Go beyond Wendy's, get to McDonalds and the movies and sell, sell, sell, you idiots.

I heard this rumor that not all games appeal to everyone. Not sure if it's true, though.

You might be. I was one of the staunchest anti-Halo zealots around -- I'd nearly get into fucking fistfights with friends who would swear how "Halo was an awesome fps" (keep in mind, I'm a huge, HUGE fan of the UT games, so PC controls are strong with me).

I gave the Halo 3 beta a try, and found it to be a much more pleasant game than the first two. The weapons were balanced better, and playing it in HD felt like I could see as much detail as I do in PC games.

So I was watching Entourage just now, the most recent episode with Peter Jackson. What a great idea for MS to market Halo or even the Halo movie, Johnny Drama hahah as Master Chief. :lol

for me it was like i watched my roommate play the first Halo for a week and i didnt get the appeal either , then he convinced me to try coop and it was on for me tthen. i wish there was more coop console games like that

Nope, it is not the sci-fi, neither the fact it is a shooter. It is a damn fine game, and thats about it. In the 3 years I have been in my university, I have seen countless Halo/Halo 2 tournaments, from the crappiest tournament organized in a basement to the biggest tournament organized by MTVU . What I noticed is that the majority of people do not give a rats ass about the story, the music, or all the "geek" stuff. They just love the multiplayer. To make it clear, the 4 members of the team who won the MTVU tournament in 2005 did not even know who the Arbiter was. Heck, only 2 of them had finished the campaign, and apparently it was just because of the coop. There is something going on with the gameplay of Halo that other games lack. I do not know what it really is, but it has the power to attract hardcore and casuals alike.

we have 4p co-op, so that guarantees 4x the sales, right?

Personally, I am staying grounded in the fact that the 360 is way less far into its lifespan than the Xbox was when H2 came out. I am not going to predict squat. Wait and see and roll with it.

No need for the spin. Any rational person would reply with "wtf, what about halo1!? zomg it was a launch game"

Look it's like all the big things in entertainment. Like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Caribean, all those big franchises, they are big because tons of people love them, but sure enough there will be tons of people who don't care or don't understand why people like them.

Why question it? There's no point.
