I just uploaded 3 videos to show off the story telling of the Attitude Era for you guys

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x38i9k1_kane-vs-mankind-promo_tv - Kane vs Mankind
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x38iaiv_bret-vs-stone-cold-promo_tv - Stone Cold vs Bret Hart - For those that don't know, this storyline set it up so that Bret would become a heel and Austin would become a face by the end of one match. Bret is the one getting back stabbed by everyone here. Austin is the one stalking poor Bret. Yet the story made it so that the fans picked Austin over Bret.

Watching current the Raw product is too depressing. When they do get it right (like they did the night after SummerSlam), they get it so right. But most of the time it's too depressing.

But then, I remember this is happening in four days.

And I think... everything's going to be okay.

(Not really, WWE needs to get its shit together on the main programming like Raw or Smackdown, but if their match in Brooklyn was a pointer, this was be an instaclassic, so NXT will be okay at least. At least we'll have that)

TL;DR - The sooner Haitch is the man in charge, the better.

Sad Sasha is in the main roster so she'll lose obviously and Bayley might be paired up with #AllRedEverything but NXT just hired some new women to fill in that gap now that the 4 Horsewomen jumped to the main shows.

The product is boring and tired, and the viewers are obviously uninterested. Vince needs to pray for a miracle in order to turn the ratings around.

This thread has reminded me I need to cancel my autopilot WWE Network subscription,
If you pay the WWE money for their network, you are telling them you approve of their terrible 3-hour Monday Night RAW product and don't want to see it improved or changed at all.

If you sign up for the WWE Network for free to watch anything, you are telling them you approve of their terrible 3-hour Monday Night RAW product and don't want to see it improved or changed at all.

Ditch their body builders with meh wrestling prioritizations and start finding and pushing impressive shoot wrestlers and high flyers. Stop over traveling and over working the talent so they can stay in better shape by splitting your roster across territories that are easy to travel and booking those in each territory to a different show. Hell rename each if you need to and self compete so you can frequently run crossover feuds with a couple of folks a year. At least this way wrestlers can live in a certain area for awhile and not exhaust themselves on the road. They'll perform better this way...the indies have proven that for decades. Hell JAPAN proves it now.

Stop acting like wrestlers didn't exist before WWE. They're built, we have the internet, don't squash it but use it to your advantage. Promote how major folks have become in their efforts in various feds and bank that as their billing. Stop squashing folks that get over on their own too. If the fans want it, but you didn't plan for it then you need to realize you were wrong and the audience is trying to tell you what they want.

Run a test division as a "world circuit" and use it to showcase foreign talent and other styles on your show. Whoever gets over try to build around and create them a comfort zone staple of talent so language is less of a barrier. Run it like a cruiserweight division as its own thing. This way you can try out stuff like Japanese or Lucha without forcing those folks to work with folks who don't run those style matches or who dont speak their language. Seriously...you can't take a power wrestler vs a lucha and expect to be able to fully utilize the pacing and psychology of lucha efficiently. You want lucha then build it a buffer of folks. Plus it adds something new to look forward to if the world circuit matches are billed as featuring a roster of changing faces competing as the top talent from other countries on your show. Always something new and it lends you tremendous training opportunities to your roster and eventually your roster should be able to work any kind of match more efficiently.

And for fucks sake, less soap opera and more matches and get commentators that act excited who are knowledgeable on your matches. If they don't get excited then the audience doesn't get excited. I don't care if its Joey Styles type stuff so long as its someone who acts impressed and gets excited to help make certain folks are getting over instead of someone who just fucks off on the mic.

Just listen to this to know how I feel about announcing a match in a way that gets over vs the shit they push.

They are, on the next go home show, bringing all of the big names back.

It will mean nothing other than one week interest.

The most popular guys are those they don't have working full time right now, Brock and Jericho. They are about to bring back Hardy and are even considering Carlito.

These are not answers.

Yo, I've not been watching for a while, but Hardy and Carlito?! Someone PM me if either happens so I can pop dat rating.

Oh well, I love NXT and their original specials.

Isn't the problem, that Raw and Smackdown are pointless nowadays? There is nothing at stake. There used to be title changes during those events, but since I started watching again, nothing happened. Yes, there were so fun matches. The Cesaro vs. Cena matches were awesome, best wrestling I have seen in a long time, but you always knew, that Cesaro is not going to get the title, because the Kevin Owens / Cena feud was already going on.

Nothing is happening outside of the PPV. If there is no chance of a title change, because we already know, that at the end of the month, the title is on the line, ever so called title match loses any meaning or importance. The New Day will not lose the title on RAW, yes they are funny, but every match is a save thing, because the next PPV is already announced.

The bodybuilders are gone, they were part of the Johnny Ace talent relations era which was such a disaster in the '00s.

Oh they're still there. There are still folks sitting too high on the card because they are more muscle than moves.

Who?

If you're talking about Randy Orton, you're nuts. Orton is an excellent wrestler and fantastic heel whose main problem is motivation and poor creative.

If you're talking about John Cena, Cena is a pretty okay wrestler but absolutely deserves to be on top because he still makes way more money than anybody else.

Ryback is not that bad of a wrestler. Kinda boring, but he can get the job done.

And Brock Lesnar is Brock fucking Lesnar.

Other than that, Kane is from the Attitude Era, Big Show is from the Attitude Era, Undertaker is from the fucking New Generation.

Who else is in the high- or upper mid-card who is a bodybuilder who doesn't know how to work? WWE's talent pool is, in some respects, richer right now than it has been in a very long time.

Pretty sure he's referring to Roman.

Roman has been getting better and better this year. His mic skills still need a lot of work, but I'd go as far as to say that, in-ring, he's getting kind of dope. He often finds ways to change up his signature moves, his strikes look like they hurt, he sells pretty well and has great facials, and he still has an excellent look.

And he doesn't do a shitty elbow drop every fucking show.

The "bodybuilder" era is over. The wrestlers they have now have bodybuilder physiques, but they train Olympic lifts and Crossfit for explosiveness, agility, and viable strength rather than just training to look good like the Hogan era. Pro wrestling matches are athletic as fuck right now.

Recent noteworthy title changes on WWE television...

- WWE Championship - has not changed hands on television since the impromptu tournament held on RAW on July 25th, 2011 after CM Punk won the belt at Money in the Bank 2011 (one of the last great non-Mania PPVs) and took off with it. Rey Mysterio won the tournament and then immediately jobbed to Cena to make the tournament look like trash. The title has since been redesigned twice and merged into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

- World Heavyweight Championship (retired) - last changed hands during the RAW After WrestleMania when Ziggler cashed in his briefcase on Del Rio after he defeated Swagger and Zeb in a 2-on-1 handicap match and they laid him out afterwards. Del Rio himself had won the title during a Smackdown taping earlier that same year in January after defeating The Big Show in a Last Man Standing match two weeks before the Rumble.

- WWE Intercontinental Championship - actually changed hands on TV earlier this year when Bad News Barrett won his 5th meaningless Intercontinental championship in front of a terrible (surprise surprise) Corpus Christi crowd after defeating Dolph Ziggler in a "2 out of 3 falls" match during the first RAW of 2015. He would then trade wins with Sin Cara in an already forgotten feud and then fail to pin or submit anyone else during his reign except for one match on RAW against Damien Mizdow thanks to interference from The Miz.

- WWE United States Championship - last changed hands on RAW in May 2014 during a battle royal of all things even though the championship had not been vacated and was still largely carried around as prop jewelry and never defended by Dean Ambrose for close to a year. This was during The Authority's post-Extreme Rules feud with The Shield which eventually led to Evolution coming back together. (Oh, and not that it matters, but Sheamus won the battle royal.)

- WWE Tag Team Championship - the Usos won both of their tag championships on Monday Night RAW during 2014; the first ended the 5-week joke reign of The New Age Outlaws and the second ended the 5-week joke reign of Miz & Mizdow. How exciting!

- WWE Divas Championship - AJ Lee and Paige were playing hot potato with the belt post-Mania during the spring of 2014 and each won the belt on RAW; Paige's victory on the RAW After WrestleMania ended AJ Lee's infamous record for longest reign as Divas champ that the WWE went out of their way to erase with Nikki Bella earlier this year.

TV has been in a golden age for about 10 years now. Shows like Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, and Game of Thrones have been seen by everyone and their mom, and people have come to expect a higher standard in regards to character building, intriguing interactions between characters, suspense, and payoffs.

Meanwhile WWE uses nonunion writers, that says it all about the pool of talent they're pulling from. They need more backstage or even pre taped segments. They need more factions, tournaments, intrigue, and some actual comedy. Pay the money for some real writers, Vince.

If they can't do that, I think their only other option is just go completely over the top with it. Max out the absurdity levels, make it fun again.
