Honest to god, the 60FPS ones just look cheap. Dirt 3 and Sleeping Dogs especially. It just makes everything look weird and enhances the artificial nature of it all. Blergh.
Eye candy or bust.
Eye candy or bust.
I feel a lot of people who can't see the difference just don't know what they are looking for.
Example, When playing third person shooters rotate the camera quickly, the refresh rate really effects how many frames you see of the landscape wizing by. A higher refresh makes it so I am able to pick out details easier, doesn't matter what the numbers are to me, higher is better.
I'm not one of those people who can't stand 30fps but I am a huge fan of highFPS. I'm currently replaying mass effect trilogy on my PC, with the high FPS. I'm constantly blown away at how lifelike the presentation becomes. when I'm capping above 60fps it's like I'm watching the coolest marionette show ever, like it's right in front of me. my brain doesn't get tricked like that with 30fps.
For gaming 60FPS doesn't just look better. It's more responsive. Responsiveness is a big deal, which why all modern fighters aim for 60FPS at least.
It'd be in everybody's best interest if this shit could stop.Website by /u/RllCKY for the glorious PC Master Race
For control input maybe(it depends on how the animations are made), but I still like seeing visual fluidity on my screen no matter what type of game it is.That site is a great example of how framerate matters much more in fast paced games than slow ones. It's important in that BF4 racing video but it couldn't matter less in the video of Wei Shen just strolling along the sidewalk.
I always wonder if people who say they can't see a difference are just trolling.
I mean, really? Come on.
It'd be in everybody's best interest if this shit could stop.
Also, how can anyone that calls themself a gaming enthusiast not discern the difference in controller responsiveness.I refuse to believe that someone without sight problems cannot see the difference. It's just impossible.

I cry when people can't see the difference. It's massive and 30fps is just so bad in comparison. I just finished Dark Souls 2 on PC and I can't imagine having to grind through that at half the frame rate. I wouldn't have bothered. Some things are alright at 30, but it's not desirable in the least.
Hilarious. It's a joke. I don't know why people take it so serious, it's seriously weird how many people get offended by it.
The difference is clear, is that really 30fps though? Looks choppy as hell, still playable though.
Does it even matter if you have to "look" for it then? Not trying to sound snarky or something..just an honest question.
Ignorance is bliss sometimes.
I agree here too it's not something everybody has to have, or know about. some games can use the extra time to do better graphics, like frostbite did when BF3 hit consoles.
That said once you start playing games that way and loving it, then it can be difficult to go back.
hmm red orchestra 2 looks cool. I should have bought it when it was on sale![]()
Somebody on Reddit really should make a "Watching Videos of Games Isn't The Same as Playing Them" site.
It was given away for free a couple of weeks ago. And it is cool, although I still suck at it, it feels like I die every time I put my head out from cover.
How one can't see a difference is beyond me
Two worlds
Some people are either completely unobservant or they reaaally need to see an eye doctor. The difference in the smoothness of the motion is really clear.
I believe part of the reason is that we have entire generations now growing up on shitty LCDs. They never knew the beautiful fluidity(and black levels, but that's another topic) of CRTs.People unable to tell should be sad rather than shrug it off. They are missing out big time.
