You keep saying that, but it's exactly like the original character design. And it IS the original source material! So what you are saying is a lot of nonsense.

its not even close to selvaria from the game, when I say source material I mean the game, not an extra piece of art.

The proportions in that art and the vertex figure arent even close to this:

I'm sorry, but Raita IS the original character designer for the game. The art came BEFORE the game (and also after for promo purposes of course). The Valkyria Chronicles artbooks are filled with his artwork. The Raita artwork IS the original source material. I understand you preferring the game art over the concept art, but confusing "original" and "source" is simply incorrect. This isn't doujin work.

that piece still isnt a source piece for the character though

regardless, the source material for a character will always be the media they were released in, be it game, anime, comic, movie etc, concept and other art pieces are not the source as it pertains to representing the character.

You don't have to see it that way, but it isn't incorrect
 
Why is good smile punishing us Haruka fans for always getting her figurine first in all the other figure ranges by still not revealing her? They even released Miki for God's sake. That's just a low blow.

Of course it's the source piece for the character!
SEGA asked Raita for concept art, he provided those, and then SEGA based the game designs based on that concept art! That's the whole point of concept art.

I could be wrong on this, but I thought that art post dated the actual character conceptualizing phase and was an extra piece he did.

Otherwise then you are right on the source art, but my main point was the second part, and that wouldnt change that. My second point of course is far more subjective
 
The order hasn't been fully confirmed yet, but it looks like I might be getting a Kongiku for $90 plus SAL shipping. Thanks low Japanese Yen!

She also won't get shipped until next year, which usually puts me off of dollfies. So many other doll companies with a shorter production phase, but volks tends to do the anime characters the most.
 
I'm still waiting on Danny Choo's automatic smartdoll before diving into that wallet sucking black hole.
Actually I'll be waiting on version 2.0 and the inevitable Miku mods ;)
