E3 2015 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3

The 3 year development cycle has not helped it.
I felt the same way about Xenoblade X trailers.

3 year development cycle?
What?
Doesn't every game have ~3 year development cycles?

Do you mean 3 years of trailers of stuff?
If so, didn't we only see Yoshi for real starting 1 year ago?

Funny, because there were far more repeats last year. Smash and Splatoon got shown at least twice for all three days and the final segment was Smash. So far, the only game that got repeated twice in a day had a developer interview with them.

I don't know, maybe I'm misremembering, but I really don't recall that. I do seem to recall seeing Smash several times, but I never got the feeling that they were repeating games so much. Then again, maybe I was just more into the games last year overall, too.

But, as I said, I'm not trying to claim there's only like 3 games like that guy was saying, if that wasn't super clear.

Man, I thought I was bad at games - then I watch Treehouse Live. I know they have to be hosts, personalities and model employees scared to misspeak - all while playing games, but still...

up until recently they had an unknown title on their list, people thought that might mean they had a game reveal.

i mean it wouldn't be the first time nintendo announced a game on day 3

Nintendo is disappointment after disappointment. I was hoping it was something special.

It got one trailer when it was first revealed before disappearing for a year and returning at last years E3. Even last year, it only got as much screen time as Rainbow Curse and Treasure Tracker. They only really started to push Yoshi recently. I guess since Splatoon is released they need something else that people will get sick of seeing.

Oh yeah, Splatoon was a game I was starting to hate due to the amount of exposure it got over the past year. I got over it actually playing it though because it is fun.
I think Xenoblade X will be the same thing, but man am I tired of seeing it.

Happy House Designer doesn't require amiibos

It also doesn't require cards, and it deeper than people are giving it credit. I'd compare it to a game like Style Savvy. Either way, it doesn't require cards as Villagers appear in town and you can ask them to move in. I believe the cards are if you want to hand pick your villager, or have a special character, like KK Slider or Isabelle, move in.

Whoever is playing that Mario Bros 3 themed level. You're awful.

Why would you walk not run before that jump?

seriously, i thought i would never say anything like that in my whole life, but that mario music is going on my nerves. Last year they had at least a great variety, also there is more to mario music then the same few tracks...

Actually, they showed more games this year. However, most of the new games are 3DS games. Last year it was a cycle of a lot of Smash and Splatoon with some Rainbow Curse, Yoshi, with a pinch of Xenoblade X, Mario Maker, and STREAM. Remember because I groaned after seeing Smash and Splatoon so much. So far, most games have only been shown three times.

Not a fan of "BAH" huh?

I wish I cared more about Skylanders. This is making me sleepy!

Two years technically.
Yeah, I meant showing the game off at E3 for 3 years. Nintendo used to be good about keeping their longer development cycles at only 2 E3's.

It wasn't at E3 in 2013. It was shown in a Direct that year and then disappear for a year. This will be Yoshi second E3.

Visually, the Skylanders games are really nice to looking. Not just this one, but the older ones, too.
Yep. Starting with Swap-Force, the focus on HD consoles helped the visual style greatly. Nearly CG animated film quality.

Going to preorder this tomorrow when I get paid, in case they sell out of preorders just because of the amiibo. :p

About the views, today seems to be pretty quiet overall. The most viewed E3 streaming is Square Enix Presents, with 18-19k viewers + 13-14k on YT, then Twitch official account with around 17k, and Nintendo, which is at 14-15k when you combine Twitch and YT.

Vehicles + Characters to collect.
Clever bastards!

does anyone know if say, the Isabelle card and the Isabelle amiibo figure are interchangable (the same way the different marios are)
I am curious about that. I would just buy a card pack to play Amiibo Festival if it is a free DL as rumored.
